We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at Eilean Iarmain. The location is quiet, beautiful, and overlooks the Sound of Sleat. Although it is on the south side of Skye, we found it to be convenient for driving around the island but also being in fairly close proximity to the Skye Bridge and the ferry to the mainland at Armadale. ||The hotel was rather full when we were there so we had a twin bedded room, but it worked fine. The wood furniture and antique dressers gave a warm and historic feel to our accommodations. The beds were comfortable and we were quite warm when under the covers though it was a bit cool, even with a space heater, otherwise. To use the shower required getting into the rather high bathtub, which was a bit treacherous and would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. However, these issues were minor compared to all of the other positive aspects of our stay. ||Our first night there, we bought a drink in the bar and brought it back to the cozy hotel sitting room where a fire was blazing in the fireplace. We enjoyed chatting with a number of the other guests prior to dinner. We ate dinner in the restaurant on both nights of our stay, which was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Cullen skink, a creamy haddock and potato chowder. The breakfasts were also good and a part of the stay. ||All of our experiences with staff were very positive. Staff went the extra mile to answer our questions and make sure that we had an excellent stay, which we did. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel!
