We stayed at this hotel for New Year's Eve, and it was a perfect experience. The staff was incredibly kind, even though our booking was last minute. The room was spacious, clean, and the bathroom had a large, comfortable shower. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. We enjoyed the beautiful lounge with a cozy fire, and both dinner and breakfast featured high-quality local products and delicious dishes. Additionally, we were able to celebrate Hogmanay in the hotel’s pub, surrounded by the warmth of the locals and traditional music. Overall, the experience was priceless, but as an additional note, the final cost was very reasonable considering the quality of the services offered.

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at Eilean Iarmain. The location is quiet, beautiful, and overlooks the Sound of Sleat. Although it is on the south side of Skye, we found it to be convenient for driving around the island but also being in fairly close proximity to the Skye Bridge and the ferry to the mainland at Armadale. ||The hotel was rather full when we were there so we had a twin bedded room, but it worked fine. The wood furniture and antique dressers gave a warm and historic feel to our accommodations. The beds were comfortable and we were quite warm when under the covers though it was a bit cool, even with a space heater, otherwise. To use the shower required getting into the rather high bathtub, which was a bit treacherous and would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. However, these issues were minor compared to all of the other positive aspects of our stay. ||Our first night there, we bought a drink in the bar and brought it back to the cozy hotel sitting room where a fire was blazing in the fireplace. We enjoyed chatting with a number of the other guests prior to dinner. We ate dinner in the restaurant on both nights of our stay, which was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Cullen skink, a creamy haddock and potato chowder. The breakfasts were also good and a part of the stay. ||All of our experiences with staff were very positive. Staff went the extra mile to answer our questions and make sure that we had an excellent stay, which we did. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel!

We booked for 4 nights over Hogmanay but were so disappointed that we checked out a day early. The weather didn’t help but we must have had the worst room in the main house!! Very small, draughty, small bed, one uncomfortable wooden chair. Looked like bathroom had been upgraded but shower didn’t respond to lowering temperature so was dangerous. Pity they’d done nothing to the draughty windows. There was one radiator and an additional electric heater and despite being on all the time the room never warmed up. It was a dog friendly room but I think it was very tired despite hotel being closed recently for refurb. Certainly no resemblance to rooms shown on website. Biggest disappointment on 31st was the lack of provision for hotel guests. We’d been promised live music in the bar, a piper and fireworks. Weather got in the way of the fireworks but the bar was so full of locals - very young - by 9 o’clock that we couldn’t even squeeze in. Locals were prioritised - confirmed by the barman - and residents were left in the lounge. After waiting ages to buy a drink at 1145 pm and realising no chance we headed to our draughty room and toasted with bottled water. The worst Hogmanay ever! And we heard the locals and the piper all making merry downstairs at midnight. We made a decision to leave a day early. Booked through Booking.com so we’d paid in advance. On leaving, reception staff didn’t even ask why? Never again.

It was a wonderful out of the way place good food and a must have car or day tour booked out. |If you have mobility issues ask for a downstairs bedroom.|We had a lovely room with bath downstairs and bedroom upstairs. A little tricky at night. |The bar and the food were excellent especially the venison

We stayed at Hotel Eilean Iarmain in August '24. The location is fabulous - right on the water with stunning views. Everyone working there was very friendly and nice, super helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had dinner in their restaurant, and it was terrific. There is a art gallery next door with amazing Scotland-themed art. We had to leave early to catch a ferry, so we weren't able to have breakfast, but they packed a lunch instead! Thanks to all at Eilean Iarmain, good job!

Since we first went to Skye 50 years ago and then returned a couple of times, we have wanted to stay at the Hotel Eilean Iarmain. This year we did and loved it. Our sort of small, Victorian hotel. Lovely staff, excellent service and food, beautiful views. We stayed at the end of 10 days of pretty wet weather but our two days there were perfect and the Harvest moon was magnificent, drawing everyone out out of the hotel to watch its rise. All the guests were chatty ( many from North America ) and we had some good conversations. ||Surprised that the bar menu was the same as the main restaurant, and the same price - unusual, it's usually simpler and less expensive. The bar atmosphere was great though. Good spirits & gift shop attached.||If it wasn't two day's drive from Buckinghamshire we'd stay regularly!||Nick & Diana C.

This is one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our vacation in the Scottish Highlands. Everything about it was top notch. The location was incredibly scenic. The food and ambience in the bar was very good. The hospitality and the service displayed by the staff was outstanding. ||We were only there for one night and we wished we had booked our stay for longer. This was the nicest hotel we stayed at in Scotland.
