Receptionist was very helpful, and even ran some wet, washed clothes through their dryer. Nice location, a few blocks from the beach. Good continental breakfast.

Quirky and charming with three cute dogs and a sitting room lined with books.
Staff looked after our bikes exceptionally well, and poured insanely large measures of local liquors.
Rooms are basic but comfortable and the large garden means you are woken by bird song.
Breakfast was good but could have used some protein.

Fantastic location, and although it is a dated hotel the staff are fantastic, attentive and very friendly. Rooms don’t have AC which wasn’t a problem for us, breakfast was served either inside or outside and consisted of bread, croissant, yoghurt, and accompanying jams.

Stayed here on our Camino walk. The location is good if you like the beach where we hung out for a good while!! Lots of restaurants were closed ? Maybe because we were coming into autumn. So imagine faulty towers and a mariner had a baby= this is hotel el Ancla. Had a peak about 30-40 years ago. Its like a maritime museum with a smell to match. Very musty throughout the hotel, the rooms are very dated and the beds old, got to love the green carpet!!! Slept with the window open as it was a warmish night and that was the only way to have airflow…. Got bitten by a few bugs as a consequence!!! Nice space outside but a bit unkempt. staff weren’t overly friendly.

It rained unfortunately while I was here so I didn’t get to the beach which is very near Hotel El Ancla. The rooms are plain but great for Camino travelers like myself with a continental breakfast (no espresso coffee / cappuccino etc but there are cafes nearby in town). My favorite part were the 3/4 sausage dogs that live there! It was a lovely greeting after a day of walking. The owners are friendly and so hospitable. The garden seating area is gorgeous with butterflies and birds. Overall, really enjoyed my stay.

A very old, old hotel struggling to keep up with the times. The hotel rooms are suffering from humidity with the wooden doors not closing correctly and the paint crumbling. Our bathroom had mold in the joints of the wall tiles and was very “rustic”. The maritime themed decorations were antiquated as the rusting iron anchor in the courtyard. A beautiful garden but the interior leaves much to be desired.

This is a very lovely hotel with walking distance to the beach (5 mins walk). There is free parking outside of the hotel on the street. They service continenal breakfast, very basic. The staff is very nice and welcoming. They want to make sure your stay is lovely. The hotel has got a very nice garden, where you can sit during the day or have breakfast. The rooms are OK, the bathrooms could do with a little bit modernisation, but everything is very clean and tidy. Overall this is very good value for money.

Recently stayed in this beautiful town on our Camino adventure. The hotel is somewhat olde world and while some reviews I had read were quite critical of the state of the rooms and indeed the service, that was not our experience. Hotel is located one block back from a magnificent beach which has a 4K promenade. Check in was seamless and receptionist was very friendly. Our room was a decent one, clean/ quiet albeit we could have done with aircon as weather was quite warm. While breakfast was served on site (typical continental breakfast), there was no facility to eat at night ( staff however provided decent recommendations). The town has multiple bars/ restaurants within 5/7 minutes walk of the hotel.
