Hotel El Atardecer

Budget friendly hotel in a great location. My room was pretty basic, but okay for a couple of nights. It was clean and comfortable; my only (minor) gripes were that there was just one plug socket situated in a weird position on the wall above the middle of the bed, and the light in the bathroom was a little too dim. I ate breakfast here on one of the mornings - which was freshly made and adequate. Location of the hotel is excellent, as you are just a 5 minute walk from the town centre. I would stay here again.

Very awesome Hotel. Great private spacious room with a comfortable bed that overlooked the ocean from a distance. Staff was professional and peaceful. Good breakfast every morning. Short walk to town. Quiet for sleeping. Nice hot shower. Shuttles & buses pick up at the Hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice little hotel with stunning views of the sunset. Friendly family owned place. Rooms were basic, no air conditioning or heat, but it wasn't needed. Hot water in the showers. The breakfast was included and was wonderful. Great price/value. Parking and wifi. There were some nice community areas for reading and watching the sunsets.

You can view the sun set over the pacific coast if the weather allows for it right from the hotel terrace! Also the rooms were clean, the breakfast rich and tasty, and the staff welcoming. Bathrooms are clean, shower and room was spacious. Only downside I found is the faucet in the bathroom being a bit close to the sink wall, which can be annoying when e.g. brushing your teeth. Oh and also be prepared for rather noisy nights due to the wind, but that seems to be a given in the whole of Monteverde.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is very good: including pancakes, eggs, bread, sausages and rice with beans, coffee juice etc. If you get a room on the second floor you get a really nice view for watching the sunset. The location is also good with walking distance to sodas and restaurants. It also seemed to be reasonably priced. ||We recommend to stay here while in Monteverde!

This is a lovely, clean, comfortable hotel in a very convenient location. The family that owns and lives in this property are very friendly and hospitable. You can expect outstanding, fresh, delicious meals, prepared family-style in their large, comfortable kitchen/dining area. If you need some laundry done, the ladies will wash it for you for a very reasonable price. From the hotel it is an easy walk into town for shopping, dining, etc. I would absolutely stay here again, and feel very comfortable to recommend it to others.

Over my entire trip to Costa Rica, this was my favorite place to stay. It is very clean and comfortable. There is a lot of space to gather and/or relax. We had a large group, and there was more than enough room. We liked to sit outside and watch the clouds and enjoy the weather. I cannot day enough about the food and the hospitality. Our entire group looked forward to the delicious home cooked meals every day.

We loved this place. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Local breakfast was wonderful. It is basic but you have everything you need in a great location. Pura vida!
