We enjoyed our stay at this property and the charming village. The manager is very friendly and is happy to answer Qs and provide advice and suggestions about the area.||The breakfast was plentiful. Our room was very comfortable and worth the additional cost for a superior room. Nice amenities and decor in the room.||If you drive you will need to take a short walk from the village car park to the property, along cobblestone roads/paths. The hotel also has stairs (in case you have mobility concerns) to access many of the rooms. ||The village is lovely to walk around during the day and especially at night with the lights on around the old walls and streets.

We stayed in room four which was spacious and nicely appointed with a comfortable bed. The rooms are set back from the street and very quiet, as is the whole town. Lots of tourist during the day but not many spend the night. The manager, Alicia was super, advising us on nearby hikes into even smaller villages in the vicinity and other recommendations. The breakfast was ample and well prepared. If you book direct with the hotel the breakfast is included, otherwise it is additional.

Rooms are minimalist with a quite good size, the bed is comfy, and the room is clean and cozy. Alicia is a great hostess, she was really helpful to indicate what to see, and where to eat. From Peratallada you can visit other medieval towns, the hotel is well located within the city. The parking is public and it is just some minutes walking. Breakfast was excellent, with products from the land. I highly recommend to have breakfast there. It is a really romantic place to stay with your partner.

El Cau de Papibou is a delightful, small hotel that is beautifully managed by Alicia. As your host, she has a wealth of information about this fascinating village, and surrounding areas. Plus, she offers a very warm greeting and facilitates any and all needs while you are staying with her. As the hotel has only 7 room, I suggest one of the superior choices with king bed and window onto a lane or courtyard. We loved our room with espresso maker and mini-fridge, plus a large window that was festooned with a cascade of blooming vines. The bathroom, a few steps down from the bedroom, was bright, spotlessly clean, and had a superb shower arrangement. The morning breakfast featured fresh breads, local sausages, and a special omelet that was custom made by Alicia; delicious! My only caution for people wishing to visit Peratallada, and this hotel is that Peratallada is a pedestrian village so it is necessary to walk some distance to your hotel with your luggage; you should plan accordingly. Too, once you have reached El Cau de Papibou, all rooms are on the second floor, and there is no lift.

The new interior makeover is cosy. Having retained the original name after the change of ownership, there were false expectations due to the original tapas Menu still displayed in trip advisor together with the valid a la cart menu. However even after the disappointment of no tapas whatsoever, the food proved to be of a very high quality. Presentation is minimalistic, allowing the food to speak for itself. The accompanying wines were delicious and we'll chosen.

A charming hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Located on a stunningly beautiful pedestrian street in this tiny beautiful village. The rooms are of a decent size but basic and a bit warm in the summer, they do have air conditioning though.||We would stay here again and do recommend it.

Rare is a hotel that makes you want to put the operator on your Christmas card list. But this was one. The location inside the village was perfect, the room was spotless but most of all the service was exceptional. Elisa who told us she had a lot of jobs before getting into the hotel business, seems to have found her niche. She clearly enjoys taking care of her guests. Even though the hotel was busy she made us feel we were the only guests she had. We would return in an instant.
