Hotel El Convento

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and full of charm. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a peaceful courtyard that felt like a little oasis. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with fresh options that gave us a great start to the day. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, always ready with a smile or a recommendation. Our room was cool and comfortable, with strong air conditioning that was much appreciated after a day out exploring. The bed was incredibly cozy, and we slept soundly every night. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, which can sometimes be hit or miss in other places. The location could not be better. It is just a short walk to a grocery store, great restaurants, and the main center of town. It made getting around so easy and stress free. Overall, this hotel really made our trip extra special, and I would absolutely stay here again.

This charming hotel is perfectly located for exploring León. Our large extended family stayed here for a holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The breakfast buffet was a wonderful way to start each day, especially while dining in the open-air seating area with a beautiful view of the lush courtyard. Housekeeping was attentive, and the entire hotel staff was exceptionally welcoming. The collection of artifacts and artwork throughout the hotel added a unique and captivating touch to the overall experience.

I didn't expect much as I switch my hotels last. minute and was left w/few hotel options, but was still disappointed. The best thing about this hotel is the garden when you first enter and it is beautiful, but that is truly the last beautiful thing here. The hotel rooms are super outdated. I saw another review mentioning that they look like jail cells and I can confirm. A new layer of paint would do this place so great justice. The Wi-Fi was weak and not consistent. However, this hotel is central to a lot in walking distance such as restaurants and a grocery store. I think there has to be better options in Leon. This is not a 4 star hotel.

Excellent accommodation, clean and spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful x 100 gardens. 3 min walk to the cathedral. Provided very safe car to the airport as well as free entry tickets to the Art Gallery a must see place to visit

We recently stayed at El Convento for three nights, and while it is a magical place, it unfortunately suffers from some management issues. ||The rooms are clean, but they can be quite noisy, which detracts from the overall experience. The service staff is friendly, but the wait times are considerably slow, leading to some frustration during our stay. ||The common areas, particularly around the restaurant, could use a good deep cleaning, as they did not meet our expectations for a place of this caliber. Additionally, the breakfast quality was disappointing, lacking both variety and service.||On a positive note, the location is perfect, making it easy to explore the city. We did experience a couple of interruptions with the Wi-Fi, but this was not a major issue for us.||It’s such a shame because El Convento has the potential to be a landmark in the city with the right management and attention to detail. We hope they can address these concerns for future guests.

This is probably the best hotel in Leon. I stayed here 22 years ago and it has barely changed. The service is better than most places you’ll receive in Central America and it is very very clean and attention to detail is prioritized. They now do a breakfast buffet, which is very freshand tended to properly. I highly recommend that this hotel and their restaurant however it is a bit costly comparatively not the food mind you but to stay.

The hotel is in a lovely d colonial building in a great location near the main Cathedral square. Nice large en-suite room and very friendly staff. Just such a shame about breakfast which was very odd as all self service, even down to laying your own table with cutlery etc. The only good thing about breakfast was it started at 6am which was useful for early excursions but equally it was often full with tour groups and lacked enough staff to service it.

Clean, modern, well appointed rooms in a beautiful drying. The staff were universally wonderful from the front desk to the restaurant to housekeeping and security. This place is so large that we didn't see it all and that's probably why we didn't find the pool that I read is located here somewhere. I appreciate that there are plenty of outlets to charge devices and that the light switches are ready to find and make sense.
