Cons:|Misleading advertising!, first, the picture that they show of the pool it's not from the hotel, the rooms are cleanish, the wifi it's free only in the lobby (not available in the rooms), the bed was pretty hard and awful, mosquitoes bothering all night because the windows doesn't have mosquito nets, the water in the shower was warm for like 10 minutes, they don't accept credit card or have room service, for just 9-15 extra dlls you an find a better hotel across the street. |Pros:|Nice attention by the staff, price is cheap and locations it's great.|

It was life saving experience to finally find a hotel in Veracruz where the receptionist spoke English! very well located, café de la parroquia nearby, it was an amazing choice for us. Our room was clean and with a very nice street view. Although is a very busy street during the day, it was quite by night. We absolutely recommend it! The price was around 35 usd , perfect for our travelling budget.

The hotel is ok for the price, it has a good location and it is clean. However, I'm not so sure about the staff since I got into troubles with one of the receptionists. My friends needed to store their luggage somewhere so I offered them my room as I was about to stay one more night in Veracruz. The receptionist who was in charge in the morning allowed us to leave the luggage in my room but when we got back for it in the afternoon, a different receptionist wanted to charge me extra 200 pesos for two additional persons in the room. (But only after she had let them to actually carry the luggage into the lobby, she probably thought it over, meanwhile.) Obviously, she intended to keep the money for herself, not for the hotel, so we made her to call her boss and inform her about it and she was forced to give me at least 100 pesos back.

Muy buen servicio. (Great service). Great location. Simple, but comfortable -and affordable 👍🏾. With parking. The only luxury you got there it's a ribbon on the toilet paper 🤣; but less than 10 minutes walk to La Parroquia cafe and los Portales bar area, come on!, it's priceless!

I was travelling alone in Mexico for 2 weeks and spent only a couple of days in Veracruz. Stumbled upon El Faro. Centrally located, with cafes and shops nearby. Free wifi (very important!!!) Staff are very friendly and helpful. The owner is a very caring host who speaks fluent English. She made good recommendation on restaurants and things to do, not only in Veracruz but also other places like Mexico City (my next destination). They helped me with the bus tickets, made sure I know how to get to the bus station, etc. I felt very much at home. Their personal touch made a great difference! Genuinely cheap and cheerful! Rooms are clean too. It's one of the best hotels I've stayed in Mexico!

El Faro is in a great location, inexpensive, adequate for a short stay. We tried to make reservations online and when that didn't work we actually called. Our Spanish wasn't good enough to determine if we had a reservation or not. Apparently not. Do not count on it in high season like Carnaval. Our AC didn't work so we were moved to a different room. It didn't work there either but the fan was much quieter. The lady on the desk was very friendly and helpful.

Decent Lobby and very cheap rooms but The rooms were disgusting. Mold on ceiling, dust everywhere, rotting shower, mildew on shower curtain. AC Loud and non functioning. paperthin walls. The last straw before I ran out of there was the stained sheets and pillow cases.Beyond disgusting.I expected this in the slums of the world or in a scary movie but there's no words for the condition of the rooms. There is no way anybody can genuinely accept money in exchange for these type of accomodations. Shame on you! AVOID this hotel at all costs. I had to give this place at least one star but there should be negative stars as an option

This is s great hotel. The staff is very nice. The hotel is very clean. The AC works great. Only downside is open wifi so use VPN and a firewall or avoid the wifi.
