We stayed for a week on a Headwater walking holiday and were disappointed with our standard room on arrival and so asked to be upgraded to one of the suites,(all of which are themed, ours was the Colonial). Marissa, the receptionist, showed us several suites, all are large and have access to outside, be it a ground floor patio or a balcony, with a sitting area and a large bathroom with separate shower. There is a small fridge in the room but no safe.||Breakfasts at this hotel quite took us by surprise, they are enormous, served buffet style to your table and just as you think, that’s it, more food arrives! Potential food waste was a concern for me, as I was just happy with fresh fruit and a slice of toast! The gourmet picnic which was provided on five days with our package was outstanding, lovely salads, a crusty sandwich, fruit and a beverage which could even be a small bottle of wine! We were certainly well fed here as the portions at dinner are huge but all very tasty, local dishes which were well presented.||What really impressed us at El Milano Real was the staff most especially the delightful Marissa who was always so cheerful and helpful, Olga, who initially gave us a briefing on the walks and came to chat with us daily and Francis, who definitely deserves the star waiter award! Danny, also a walker, who works on reception is a useful resource and like us relies on the meteoblue website for local weather conditions, which in this part of the world are very variable!||If the standard of the rooms and their facilities were improved slightly, I would rate this hotel as excellent.
