Hotel El Silencio del Campo

Such a fun place to stay. We took advantage of all the special amenities this hotel had to offer, including the farm and its activities, the hot springs and the bar/restaurant. The kids loved the farm, with collecting eggs as a highlight. We all enjoyed drinks and food at the bar beside the hot springs. The cocktails were prepared with fresh fruits and herbs and tasted great, especially the passion fruit margarita. Service was excellent, and we enjoyed our food selections. The rooms were simple but comfortable and provided everything we needed. I would definitely return here. Some small suggestions: please add more lounge chairs at the hot springs and over the entire property for enjoying the beautiful scenery or a morning coffee. And please don't require the maid to check the room before we leave; it is tacky and does not align with the overall small town community feel of this lovely hotel resort.

We travel a lot, and most hotels tend to blend together. El Silencio is 100% unique. The farm experience was incredible. It felt amazing to have wildlife and farm animals just steps from our door.. watching colorful birds during breakfast.. spotting a sloth. Absolutely priceless. The hot springs were also fantastic and never overcrowded. Shout-out to the restaurant and bar staff for being so relaxed and friendly. The ceviche is to die for, and the margaritas are made from scratch using local ingredients. Make sure to try the passion fruit one! All in all, it was a piece of paradise. I’m very glad we had the chance to stay here.

We stayed here for our honeymoon at the start of December and had the most perfect stay. We had the bungalow with a jacuzzi bath which was in a secluded area of the resort and so peaceful. The hot springs are incredible and the perfect place to relax after a long day of activities. Everywhere was very clean and immaculate. The food was excellent. We liked how they had both a restaurant and bar menu which allowed for more casual dining. Breakfast was delicious each day and they put fruit out for the birds for some bird watching. The breakfast is a la carte and freshly prepared, much better than a buffet in my opinion. The staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. We also booked a sloth tour through the hotel which I can highly recommend. This place was 10/10 and I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Loved this hotel! Comprised of around 23 casitas. The grounds were beautiful, lots of birds around and beautiful flora. The hotel has a small farm on the premises that was so fun, we even milked a cow! The hot springs pools were a highlight of our stay, we would do tours/activities during the day and then come back and get in the hot springs pools in the evenings, it was so relaxing. We had a couples massage at the spa and it was great also, and very reasonably priced too! Breakfast is included each morning and it was fresh and delicious. The management/staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly, really exceptional service!

I debated for days about where we should stay in La Fortuna, reading review after review and we couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to stay at El Silencio del Campo. - The location in relation to the town and activities is fabulous. We were able to get cheap Ubers in and out of the town for restaurants etc and were well located for the pickups for excursions. - The staff is incredible. We emailed in advance to ask about activities and not only did they answer all our questions, they ended up organising everything for us which made it so easy. - The facilities are great - we felt like we were in a nature preserve because of all the animals constantly circulating. The little farm which supplies the restaurant is awesome and seems quite unique for the area. - The restaurant is good, we were happy with the breakfast - while its not an epic spread it well covers all the bases and ultimately it is a small hotel with just 24 rooms (little cabins) so you can understand they can't sustainably offer the same a hotel housing hundreds of people would. We ate lunch at the restaurant the first day and were underwhelmed by the lunch food - it just lacked spice and salt I suspect - but the breakfasts were good and so then we just ate out at other restaurants for the other meals (definitely go to Travesia!). - The thermal baths were lovely to use in the evening or between activities. They have managed to create a variety of spaces, and different temperatures of water which is really nice. All in all we felt so well taken care of and had such a beautiful time. Our group was our 70yr old Mom and then my brother and I (both in our 30s) - we were already discussing how we wanted to come back with our spouses and kids in the years to come. I couldn't recommend a place more highly!

My family of three stayed here for 3 days in early December 2025. We lived the hotel and grounds (and La Fortuna and all it had to offer) so much that we wish we’d stayed longer. We were surprised at the beautiful, private hot springs pools on the grounds, which we had mostly to ourselves for the days we were here. The cocktails at the bar were the best we’ve had, and our bartender was excellent and even came to find us to bring us our drinks when we wandered into the hot springs. The breakfast was simple and delicious. Service was excellent. Rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The farm was a highlight too, we loved seeing Bella the pig and the baby donkey was adorable. The view is f the volcano from our room was astonishing. We would love to come back one day.

When I am planning a trip I often go down a rabbit hole obsessing over details and reviews of various places and changing my mind a million times. I am so happy I landed on this hotel. Arriving there was like being greeted with a warm hug. The people are friendly and kind. The atmosphere is one of pure relaxation. There are multiple geothermal pools on the property. We spent one day soaking in the warm pools and looking at the volcano. It made all the difference to be able to come back here after a day of touring and slide into the warm pools. There is a ton of wildlife there. Multiple species of birds, we saw sloths in the trees, lizards. The hotel has a farm on site. Kids can milk cows and gather eggs. The restaurant was spectacular. Quite a varied menu and everything was amazing. We especially want to shout out May Ling who bartended. She was so friendly and attentive and remembered our drinks from night to night. The accommodations are your own little house. Very spacious and with a table and chairs on your own patio. It is easy to get from here to any of the tons of local tours in La Fortuna. Highly highly highly recommend!

This place is beyond wonderful. The rooms are individual casitas that include a sitting area outdoors. The thermal pools were exceptional. The pools are close together but each within its own private setting. The bar has great drinks and they even have tables with call buttons so you can summon a staff person to take your order. There is also a restaurant on sight that provides a complimentary breakfast as well as offering a lunch and dinner menu. We saw iguanas lounging on the sidewalk and in the foliage next to the pools as well as many different birds. The onsite farm was great fun also. 3 members of our group got up early and helped milk the cows! The setting is beautiful, so much green and flowers. Our only regret is that we were there for only one night. Every staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend El Silencio Del Campo.
