I absolutely loved staying here with my wife and 4-year-old. Very central, clean, with cozy public spaces and rooms. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and had great recommendations for our young kid. They even hung out with us at dinner just to chat and we learned a lot about the local community. The restaurant was very tasty and well priced.

Great location and amazing staff. Honestly, whatever the staff is being paid, it’s not enough. So helpful and accommodating. The room was nice but the floor was super slippery and not completely flat so I tripped a bunch of times. Also, it’s on a main road which is great because it’s close to everything but anytime a car went past, the room shook a little. The general location is nice because it was so close to the city center. 4/5 since I kept slipping haha. But the staff are amazing people and need to give themselves a pat on the back.

Really great hotel for the price. Location is amazing, and the free breakfast is fresh! Carlos was very helpful and made booking everything easier for us (he will book anything you need at the cost price so don’t worry about being charged extra). The only reason it loses a star is due to the shower not being very hot and the walls are very thin - the windows clatter when it’s very windy and we were woken up through the night. The pillows are also those uncomfortable stuffed ones which is very common in CR for some reason.

Pros: - very friendly staff. Greivin from the reception even wrote down the bus and ferry schedules to get to our next stop in Costa Rica! - amazing breakfast. Included in the private room price of $35. We had eggs Benedict, fruit platters and pancakes as well as coffee and juices. - clean spacious rooms. Cons: - walls between rooms are thin, you can hear the people next door speak. - hot water is available but limited.

Great stay for our family, got two rooms. Convenient location. Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast. We booked a guided tour through them for a morning in Curi-Cancha. Marcos was excellent --highly recommend him!

Great location and awesome staff! We spent three nights here and had a great time. There is a restaurant downstairs that has great food and the staff did everything in their power to ensure we had a great stay. Special thanks to Kaysie, Andrea, and Belén at the reception who made our stay such a great one. They even invited us to a local fiesta at Bar Amigos. Great people! Pura vida!

We wandered into this hotel at around 10am with no place to stay that night. They luckily had a room, and were kind enough to give us the first room that would be available after cleaning (about a 30 minute wait). We ended up with a great room with tons of space. There is no A/C or fan, but it gets chilly at night in that area anyways. Great views from upstairs and a nice, breezy hangout on the main level. There is hot water, but I suggest keeping the water volume turned down low to get the hottest water. Breakfast was tasty and cooked to order, included in the stay. The hotel was also across from the bus station where the bus to the Monteverde Cloud Forest stops (its about a $2 journey per person). All the people who work there are friendly and helpful, and the whole building is covered in beautiful artwork. The prices were excellent as well. About $40/night. Definitely recommend staying here. Only complaint one might have is that the road is noisy at night with all the bikes, certainly did not keep us up however. Everything is within a 2 minute walk, including Tree House Restaurant. Stayed here two nights.

Unusual hotel chalet style with copious amounts of wood. Room was fine but shower was ice cold. Noisy when people moved around on wooden floors. Nice breakfast downstairs.
