Hotel El Torogoz

Really enjoyable place: very good value, and most qualified, friendly and helpful people running it. The rooms are okay and the beds are made every day. Very clean too. ||Its garden and smallish pool are very welcome after a hard day's work. ||Wifi is real fast and ubiquitous. Choice of two breakfasts: 'tipico' and 'toast', both very nice although I would rather go for the former whenever I have a long day before me.||So, I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in San Salvador within this range of price.

We enjoyed our stay at El Torogoz very much. Lovely courtyard and pool. Our small dogs were welcome. The neighborhood is nice for walking, with several restaurants and bars to choose from. Our vehicle, with a roof rack full of things, could not fit under the entrance to their parking area. However, they have a 24-hour security guard who kept an eye on it while it was parked in the driveway. Highly recommended for a stay in San Salvador.||There was a bit of mis-communication regarding laundry. We asked if there was a self-service laundry in the area, and the housekeeper immediately took our clothes and said she would be happy to wash them. She hung them on the line and we collected them as they dried. On checkout, the proprietress charged $20 for this, which we thought was a bit much. We paid $10. Again, it was merely a matter of mis-communication.

Hotel El Torogoz is great, most notably for the friendly atmosphere and the helpful staff. In total, during the summer of 2011 I spent several weeks there and it was a great experience. When my father, who spoke no Spanish, came to visit me we stayed and he soon became a member of the family, despite being unable to communicate with anyone! The rooms are clean and simple, with very good air conditioning (San Salvador's heat can be intense) and comfortable beds. The price is competitive and it is in a great part of the city - not the uber-fancy (and uber-expensive) areas but a safe, clean neighborhood close to the national university and lots of food. I definitely plan to return to this hotel.

I stayed 2 weeks at the Hotel Torogoz with my parents and I really love it there. The food was very delicious 😋. If you are looking for a place to stay, I recommend you to go there. The front desk people are very nice and friendly. I will go back on my next vacation 👍❤🙏🇸🇻

I have stayed here on several occasions. ( I was helping with the elections on one visit.) The owner, Rosario, goes out of her way to help all her guests. The food that was served is all homemade, healthy, and wonderful. A lot of the food is typical of El Salvador. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There are shared bathrooms, but this was never a problem. Some rooms have a private bath. There are facilities to wash clothing as well as a small pool. In one of the buildings there is a refrigerator where you are able to store some of your food. There are also common areas where you can visit with friends.There is also good security which is important in El Salvador..

I stayed at Hotel Torogoz for about 2 weeks, and had a great time. The staff are extremely helpful and always friendly, and the service provided was alaways of a high standard. The pool, made my stay even better, but the highlight was definitely the food, and still stands as some of the best food i have eaten afetr being in El Salvador for over 2months.

I've stayed at the Torogoz dozens of times, sometimes for weeks. The property is two houses that are connected, the rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are separate and shared. Breakfasts and coffee are served, there's good internet, the location is convenient for a lot of San Salvador, near San Luis commercial centre and the National University. During the day there are normally one or two taxis outside. Staff are great and they'll help you with anything.

This is not a luxury hotel, but it it is clean, the wifi is first rate, it's in a great neighborhood and the staff is extremely welcoming. They even made us an early breakfast when we had a 6 AM taxi to catch for the airport We'll be back!
