Hotel Eldorado at Eldorado Resort

Had a great stay at the Eldorado! The staff are friendly and helpful Marwa and Riley gave us all the hotel details on arrival and recommendations for things to do in the area. The place has 2 hot tubs, a steam room and pool which is a great way to unwind after a good hike or work week. There are 3 resterauntes in the resort. The lounge was our choice, the food was pretty great (I reccomend the eldorado burger, wild mushrooms and apple chutney combo was great! In a burger). Our waitress Terra was friendly and me and my girlfriend never felt rushed while eating and had a nice relaxed drink and meal. The views at this hotel are also pretty great! I recommend giving this place a stay!

This is a fantastic hotel with a historical touch and excellent location. We ate in the pub and at the restuarant & both were fantastic experiences. The service is really exceptional, in fact we requested a room that had a desk for a zoom meeting the next morning and the front desk team quickly figured it out. We were moved to an amazing room. I definitely can’t wait to go back for a romantic weekend as our visit was business focused. I found it practical and accommodating for any type of stay. ps the gym, steam room and hot tub are incredible too! Have fun !!

I booked a weekend staycation for my wife’s birthday and the staff were exceptional. Riley at the front desk is a master at customer service. Such a nice fella who was very knowledgeable. Jill at the spa was also fantastic, so kind and made my wife feel super relaxed and left feeling super satisfied. The Arms part of the resort is super rad, the room was awesome and very cool aesthetic. Thanks everyone who made my wife’s birthday.

I’m local and have had the pleasure of staying here - I’m currently at the delta grand and it’s really putting things into perspective for me. THANK YOU HOTEL ELDORADO FOR ALL YOUR VEGAN OPTIONS!! ON ALL YOUR MENUS!! INCLUDING POOL SIDE!! I stayed this summer and the most delicious falafel meal I can’t stop thinking about. We also had pizza with plant cheese. Simply, thank you. Reading your menu now it’s abundantly clear that somebody back there really cares. Oak & Cru at the delta doesn’t have a single option on their menu and I’ve been so upset about it. It doesn’t give the animals a fighting chance, and it doesn’t give guests the opportunity to try to make more compassionate choices - and what about people with allergies or religious restrictions?? It’s so confusing, and seems intentional.

I stayed at the hotel the first weekend in December, a second annual solo trip. I love the old fashioned style of the Arms building and took advantage of the pool, the spa and the Sunday morning yoga. Upon arrival, there was no robe in my room but they quickly sent one up. I really appreciated the ability to text the front desk and the quick service. The first night I ate at Manteo and the second night at the Eldorado lounge. Both times the staff were confused and very nearly rude when I asked for a table for one. At Manteo they were condescending and asked if I wanted room service instead. At the lounge they were completely flustered and three people were running around trying to accommodate this request. It was bizarre and off putting. Further, the burger I had at the lounge was almost fully raw. It was very dim so at first I assumed it was a little pink and ate around the edges but it was undercooked for my preference. After being treated as a nuisance for being alone, I didn't want to cause a fuss so ate my fries. When the server took the plate away, he confirmed in the full light of the kitchen that it was very undercooked. The server was great, very apologetic and said it should never have been served that way. I wasn't charged for food in the end, which I appreciated, but the whole experience was extremely disappointing. For a place that claims to be "fine dining" I expected a lot more. Despite very much enjoying the hotel itself, I would hesitate to come back next year and may look at other options. I would definitely try one of the many other great restaurants in the area before going back to the Eldorado lounge.

Hotel El Dorado in Kelowna is exclusivity in hotels and resorts' services. We have no complains about our staying. The toilette in our bathroom broke, and they brought a new one in and install it. All of the process it took from 10AM until 2pm. So they were pretty fast addressing our problem. There was cleaning service coming to our room after the plumbers finished also. 👌 As for food options. They have amazing food! They offer a Special Brunch on Sundays (starting at 10AM) with is a buffet set up in the restaurant. Soo good. Specially their sea food station! Our waiter was the nicest most polite boy ever. He addressed all of our questions regarding attractions in Kelowna. Every one greets you. There is beautiful greenery and outstanding fall -vibe' views!

Had a lovely dinner in the lakeside dining room last night. Our waiter Vince was knowledgeable and informative about the different foods served. Vince is enthusiastic and passionate. Our meal was excellent and the beef tenderloin was probably the best we have had. The baked alaska dessert was a special touch. A lovely relaxed evening.

Had breakfast at Eldorado while staying at Monteo. There was a good chili ice of menu items. We had the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich. The toast was delicious with runny eggs and a nice bread that stayed toasty and crunchy throughout. The breakfast sandwich was on a bun with home made bread that also held its own. The sausage had a subtle kick to it, and it featured a soft egg. The service from Lisa was very good, paying careful attention to us and other guests.

I initially left a bad review but they have redeemed themselves so I have edited. The room is lovely. The indoor pool has that old 1940 style glamour. There are also outdoor pools to enjoy. LAke view is lovely. In general the restaurant service was good as is the housekeeping. However, on day one I literally could not order room service. No one would take my order and the front desk literally refused to pick up after I complained about it. LOL.

We had a lunch at the main dining room for 7. The setting was very good as was the service by Marco. Four of us shared The Signature El Platter and were most disappointed. I could not believe how badly the food was prepared for this "premium" menu item. All the meat was extremely overcooked to the point of not edible. The fries were as hard as rock. We could barely cut through the skin of the sausage. The only thing cooked properly were the beans and carrots. I deeply regret not complaining and making an issue of how bad this meal for 4 was. We were reluctant as we did not want to embarrass our guests. A colossal disappointment and we will never recommend this restaurant.

General manager was reasonable and offered us another night to make up with the construction exlerience

Absolutely terrible stay. From the moment I arrived at Eldorado, it was clear this place doesn't care about basic hospitality. The room was in poor condition, the service was indifferent at best, and nothing matched the expectations set by their website or reviews. I tried to make the most of it, but everything--from cleanliness to comfort--was severely lacking. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

The lobby of the hotel is always vacant. We had to walk to another hotel in the complex with our language, in -6 degree at night and we got lost and got sick the following day. I asked the clerk to move us to two rooms in the heritage building and she said she has no authority to change the reservation! The whole checking charade took 1 hour and we missed the dinner as all restaurants closed at 9 and to enter our room we had to take an ugly corridor as the entrance of the building which smelt swimming pool. To top it all our room was facing the elevator which woke us up at 6 am with its wring. The hotel was completely empty of guests and employees. Why should they give us that room?? and not sea view despite our reservation, just facing a horrible building site. They text us at midnight that there will be fire alarm testing in the morning ‍ I was so mad that I told them they should not do that before 11 . fire alarm test started at 11 and went on and on and on for 15 min and they nocked at our door. If it wasn't for the nice bar tenderDamian from Manchester, who gave us something to eat at 9:30, the whole trip would have been ruined. He mad us laugh. Thank you Damian. We had experience of a dinner in Eldorado before this trip, in the dining room facing the lake and that is why we came back. This time they didn't even let us have lunch there and we had lunch in a box of a room with 4 tables partially looking to water from the corner of the building. If is a shame that this heritage nice building is run so unprofessionally. I wonder how much does it cost to have someone at the front desk during the day for a hotel which calls itself prestigious!!!

We love Hotel Eldorado, We stay at the Villas area were our view was so peaceful and beautiful. Service was great all around and our rooms were clean and comfortable. We will love to come back next year trip to beautiful Kelowna, Canada.

I have been going to the Eldorado for Happy hour for years and today I was most disappointed. The server Gwenovyre was amazing but the lack of a happy hour food menu was bad. So we thought, ok , let's order the mussels. Again not nearly as good as the old menu. The loss of the chili chicken in the HH menu was very nicibke. I will maybe go back for a drink but bring back what we know was a winner. I saw others at tables close be unhappy with the things they ordered. Not a good choice to change everything.

nice location but you can't watch a movie or access netflix. if you want to watch commercials and regular tv it's great. we have been traveling and haven't seen a tv in 2 wks so we were expecting to be able to watch a movie. don't stay here if you expect the hotel to deliver what they advertise

The restaurant tonight was fantastic. I ordered the prawn carbonara; a steep price at $33 but there were approx 10 large prawns included with big pieces of bacon. Full of rich flavour; probably the best I have had. My husband had the steak and frites; cooked perfectly. Service was great; enjoyed a beer and cider on tap with port to finish. Have come here a few times and this was probably the best yet!

Main dining room menu selections continues to be very limited -not even a poultry dish and next to no options for vegetarians. Our service again tonight was very slow. Having said that our meals were delicious.

After being screened for the "fine" dining menu by the hostess we were granted a reservation. It was a beautiful evening and view, in a great spot. The waiter suggested a nice wine after we told him we were interested in the appetizer menu. (we are foodies who have eaten all lately) A burrowing owl cab sav. It was good. But at $95.00.? Stop there. After that he was pushy and the service was rushed!! Ignorant. Did not thank us. We started with a charcuterie platter. It was full but the meats were cheep, salty, common, the cheese was again common (no one stopped to tell us about the platter? ) Just slapped down. The only thing that was "fine" was the plums. My husband tried the beef cheeks, which was under seasoned, and dry?? I choose butternut squash ravioli, (were they old? hard, chewy) the (scallop was well grilled?). I got 3 Ravioli!!!! Anyway... The sauce was the same as my husbands beef sauce?? Huh? The waiter may have asked about the food but did not stay to hear our views? He treated us visibly different from others. I think the chef has left and they are putting it together. Or was it because we are from Alberta? Poor service. Not "fine" food. Excellent views, though. Noted! ...We may not be welcome here? So disappointed. We loved this hotel.

Hotel Eldorado is a nice refurbished historic hotel and restaurant right on Lake Okanagan in the Kelowna neighborhood of Pandosy. It actually boasts two restaurants, but that is hard to tell at the outset: one outside on the dock front (a more casual spot) and a more upscale indoor restaurant, with a detailed menu, tucked inside the hotel itself and its in adjoining sunroom facing the water. We ate at the more casual outdoor spot with its waterfront seating, flickering edison light bulbs hanging from the trees, casual menu, and a view of boats along the docks. We can't help ourselves, we get excited for a waterfront view in summertime and this one can't be beat. The food here was enjoyable and casual, from the kids fish and chips, the seafood chowder (very good), to the Salt Spring Island mussels. Less successful was the ahi sandwich (just okay) but the view more than made up for it. Try the seafood chowder here, its creamy but light and full of fresh, tasty seafood. and one of the better things on the menu.

Terrible service. Cold food. Bathroom absolutely disgusting. One and only time I have left a zero tip. Absolute beautiful spot but the worst dining experience ever.

We stayed at this hotel in off season cause, quite frankly, the prices in the summer are outrageous. I would never stay here again, the beds were the most uncomfortable hotel beds I've ever stayed in. Hard as a rock, had the worst sleep because of it. The heat in the hotel is either off or blasting with heat. No in between. And the lake view was a joke because all we got was a tiny window so when laying or sitting on bed (cause there was no where else to sit) you couldn't see anything Save your money and book elsewhere.

This is a solid place. The service was very nice and they were able to seat our large party of 12 fairly quick. Our food did take a while to come out, but when it did it tasted pretty good. It is fun for a fancy morning breakfast and I would go again.

Rented an heritage lake view queen for two nights. The room was quite spacious and had an amazing view over the Okanagan lake. It was right above the restaurant/bar, music was playing non stop from morning til night. Not very relaxing! Because it's an old building, expect to hear everything from the bedroom above too. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, book a room that is not overlooking the lake.

This Lakeside restaurant has an incredible lakefront patio and open concept lounge. The menu has a lot of options, and I wanted to try everything! Me and my gf had $5 sangrias, fish tacos, chicken and arugula salad and the pot of gold for dessert... the kitchen was nice enough to put our shared food on two plates without us requesting it to be served that way, this was a nice touch! Service was excellent, however food took a bit longer than normal, but because of the atmosphere and great house music station, we managed to still have a great experience here. Highly recommend!

We absolutely LOVE everything about Eldorado Resort! The food is amazing, the boat rentals are so much fun, the rooms are stunning and the atmosphere is so unique, warm and inviting. As wedding photographers, it is one of our favourite weddings venues to refer our clients to as a wedding venue. Erika is incredible as the wedding coordinator; you can tell that she loves her job and the venue, has a perfect eye for details, responds to clients promptly, which is hard to find in the wedding industry these days. The resort itself is beautiful, to say the least. The ceremony and receptions areas, inside and outside of the building and, of course, the view. Whether you are a couple looking for their perfect wedding venue with everything in one place including accommodation for your guests and the most stunning getting ready rooms, looking for one of a kind accommodation for a holiday of stay-cation, a restaurant with incredible food and service, or even boat rentals for fun on the Okanagan Lake, look no further than Eldorado Resort!!

I've given the two stars in regards to the Sunday brunch. We dined there this morning around 12:30 pm and the food was extremely disappointing. So cold. They had a sausage dish that tasted like the sausages had been recooked over and over. Really bad. Breakfast potatoes looked okay but again, cold. The pancakes weren't bad but totally cold and the Arctic Char was extremely over cooked but at least didn't taste fishy and the rice underneath was actually pretty good. The fish would have been good if it hadn't been so dry and cold because it had the same sauce the rice had and that was tasty. Service was great but the cost was atrocious for what we got. We've given them a few chances to improve but nothing has changed. I guess they have a captured audience, being a hotel and all. Disappointing because the atmosphere is second to none. Five out of five for ambience and it's a nice place to stop by for a cocktail but I have to recommend people avoid the Sunday brunch.

I do no usually give 5 stars but this place is great. My family and I had a wonderful experience. The staff are very attentive and professional. We had Sunday Bruch and the food was amazing. It is a very popular place for brunch so I do suggest you reserve a spot! Price is fair. Enjoy:)

I'm very sad to have to give my beloved Eldorado only 2 stars. Our family has been coming for 8 years, as part of a larger group event. Until now, it has been a highlight of our year. Sitting on the boardwalk, on the veranda, or in the lounge and eating exceptionally delicious, fresh and creative meals was an unparalleled experience. However, this year we were vastly disappointed. The menu has been dramatically pared down, makes little sense, and frankly isn't very good. In a very short order we were all so bored with the limited choice and underwhelming food, we had to look elsewhere; which we did not want to do. The menu remains the same for lunch, dinner, and in the lounge. It also has only a few items and tastes merely average. The breakfast menu is boring and uninspired. I have no complaints about the service in the restaurant. However, the lounge staff left much to be desired. Both nights we were there, it was apparent we weren't welcome. In fact, when we arrived at 9:45 pm on a Saturday night, Jason was clearly annoyed and appeared eager to kick us out at midnight. Which is fine, but the manner in which it was done left us all offended and perplexed. We were a sober and quiet group. (My husband and I are grandparents. We were taking our sons, daughter-in-laws and niece out for an after dinner drink to celebrate a birthday). We are seriously reconsidering our stay at the Eldorado next year, due to this unfortunate 5-day experience.

Overall it was a good experience. Sat in the sun room area which was a bit hot despite the windows being open. Next time I would sit on the patio to watch the sunset and enjoy the misting stations! Enjoyed a good meal of halibut and risotto (thanks for substituting the char for the halibut). The creme brûlée was absolutely amazing! My one recommendation is that for a table of 6, that more drink menus be offered rather than just one each of the wine and cocktail menu. Especially when 5 of the 6 people at the table have never been to the restaurant and are intrigued by the cocktails. Of important to note is that there are different menus depending on where your table is located. Patio menu is more lounge style compared to the dining room menu.

We have had good meals here before ( 6 years ago) but this time it was not good at all. Three of us ordered the steak and when it arrived they were all over cooked. At $44.00 per steak one would expect that they would know the difference between Medium and well done. The sides were bland and unappealing service at the restaurant reception was borderline rude and the wait staff seemed to have us on a timer. Overall a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this restaurant. Second star is for the view, but definitely a one star experience.

**Disclaimer: I only came for the Sunday brunch buffet, so I can't comment on the hotel itself or any other non-buffet related stuff** The Hotel Eldorado provides a solid spread for its Sunday brunch buffet. All of the regulars make an appearance: for your cold dishes, you have your assortment of cheeses, salads, fruit, meats, and breads, and up to bat for your hot dishes you have your bacon, sausage, eggs benedict (always a plus!), waffles, and potatoes. Making surprise showings on the hot dish side are curry beef and rice, though I wouldn't count on that showing up every week. The real selling points of this buffet though is the fresh seafood (chilled shrimp, mussels, and CRAB LEGS), the omelette station, and crepe station. To finish, you have an assortment of miniature desserts, such as pies, cakes, creme brulee, and panna cotta. Also, an unexpected perk was the complimentary fruit juices and teas - not something you see, well, anywhere. The dining room is gorgeous and looks like an old southern plantation - large wicker chairs and everything. Diners in the summer have the option of eating on a large open porch/veranda or out on the boardwalk to enjoy some sunshine and a light breeze. Another (better) perk of eating there in the summer? Plentiful amounts of Okanagan produce! Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and crab legs, were abound. As long as you don't go in expecting a 5 star Las Vegas hotel calibre buffet, you should leave with a pretty full and happy tummy. Did I mention the crab legs?

Ended up at the El Dorado after I rolled the dice with Hotwire. Most hotels in Kelowna right now are over $200/night, so at $160 this seemed like a steal. I wouldn't pay full price to stay here...or gamble with Hotwire at that price again. If I find myself in Kelowna again, I'll probably try a B&B...even though I'm not a B&B girl... It's "quaint" and "rustic". Cork flooring, big bathroom with a shower and separate bath. Crappy bed - I could feel the springs. The patio bar seemed nice...but it was too full to get a seat at.

Well, that was disappointing. Arrived at 8pm. Seated immediately. Drinks ordered within a couple minutes (wine and martini) but it was another 15-20 minutes for them to show up. Ordered food when drinks arrived, at the same time as the 2 tables around us. This is where things really fell apart. 45 minutes in, no food. Our waitress came over to tell us it would be just a few more minutes. 15 minutes later, no food. Waitress back, to tell us again, just a few more minutes. 10 minutes later, waitress back, she says the kitchen is slammed because so many tables arrived at the same time. First, I worked in the industry for years, and this excuse is not acceptable. Second, the 2 tables around us who ordered their food at the same time had already received their dinners and had almost finished. About 7 minutes later, the food shows up. Oh, I should mention, not once has our water been refilled, with the multiple visits to our table you'd think the waitress would have noticed. Food was ok. I had the tenderloin, medium rare. It was not exactly hot off the grill but it was cooked properly. Side veggies were ok, a little raw. Mr had the seafood linguini. He said it got better as he got near the bottom of the bowl where the sauce was pooled at the bottom. He also ordered the side mushroom dish that tasted like it was a bowl of salt with a sprinkling of mushrooms added, not good at all. Asked for the bill, and the mushrooms had been comp'd. So yay. FINALLY, as we're literally paying the bill and putting the cash in the bill fold, the water girl shows up and refills our water! Ridiculous. A manager should have come to our table after the second "sorry we missed putting in your order" visit. Will not return. The 2 stars are for the view, which is spectacular and on the lake. It looked like the diners on the outdoor patio were having a lovely evening.

Review of the restaurant: Nice comfortable seating in their deck and patio. Service was very good. Downside is the food. It's always been very mediocre so I didn't expect much. Flatbread lacked substance, it was mainly bread. The lettuce wraps were terrible - mostly crispy egg noodle chips and bottled sauce with tiny bits of chicken. So it was mainly inedible. The pros: calamari, soup, and burgers were good. Overall, a pleasant experience with good ambiance but the food is very lacking.

**************UPDATE******************UPDATE************************ 2018 Ok that's it for now, our one time beloved El. We gave you enough chances and spent wayyy too much money at your dining to bother with you again, until you figure your s**t out and turn things around. After last year's iffy experiences (see below), we decided to give them another chance considering they recently snagged a Fairmont Whistler executive chef. I mean, how could things go wrong?? Well, for starters, they could lose that said prestigious chef. He's gone and now the kitchen is back to spitting out sub-par product. The risotto was over seasoned, and the lamb dish was all one note - salt. The scallops last year came to me raw/crudo, and this time they came out only seared on one side till a black/brown crust was deeply formed about a 1/4 of the way through the scallops! This makes the one side dry and tough, and the other side perfectly cooked. Doesn't make sense, especially at $7.00 per scallop. Again, we paid a ridiculous bill for a meal we were very disappointed with. If it wasn't for that view, I would never step foot in this place again, regardless of the memories and good times had in the past. I only hope they figure things out soon.. A SHAME! ............................................................................................................ 2017 The restaurant and patio dining has been a long time favourite. It's been a tradition of ours when we arrive in town, to check into our hotel, freshen up, then head over to the patio at The El, for a nice meal and sunset/lake view, to start our vacation right. Typically, they have been very good for food and drink with very friendly, helpful service. Unfortunately, this last summer we had our first negative experience here, both in food and service. We had a server that looked to be a manager or floor leader perhaps. A guy around 45 years old, with a very stuffy, snobby attitude. He seemed extremely knowledgeable with the food and drinks, so I can only assume he was a senior staff member, with maybe a bit too much confidence. When I asked him for a taster of the beer for my father, he paused for a moment, gave a quick and annoyed 'ok?' and rushed off. The attitude was witnessed by everyone at our table. I let that go. The next odd thing was his method of pouring wine at the table from sidecar to glass. He did it in a very jackass way - pouring it from high above, letting the stream fall and splash into the wine glass - like some teas that are mixed and poured in India, Morocco, etc. I don't know if this is his way of trying to impart air into the wine, or what, but it is a very risky practice, and he did it for every single pour. We even asked if he had ever spilled...and he said, once or twice. Why the hell would you do this?? Very unnerving. Anyway, the scallop appetizer I ordered was like sushi. Seared but completely raw on the inside. I stupidly ate it and didn't complain, not wanting to sour my family's dining experience. The rack of lamb entree I ordered had a very thick coating of dijon mustard. To the point where one bite of lamb would have an equivalent of 1 tsp of mustard on it. Again, I ate it and didn't complain. The bill came to over $450 for four of us, and I left feeling very odd. We never had a negative experience like this at the El before. I don't know who this stuffy guy is, but I really do hope he changes his ways or gets chopped down a few notches. Out of all the experiences we have had here over the years, the young and perhaps inexperienced staff had always given us a MUCH better experience than this guy. Come on El, I want to believe this was a one-off bad experience...you're better than this - and need to be, with your prices.

Had a really great stay! Stayed in the Luxury suite and ZERO complaints! Such a nice room with a great view. Very roomy and the jet tub was the best! The bar downstairs seemed to be a popular place to be on a Friday night. Very busy but service was still great. My favorite thing..... The pool, hot tub and sauna. Heated just right and I could have stayed in the pool for hours.

Got engaged here! I have fond memories of the restaurant and that evening. I think the waitress was more choked up than I was. he he. Anyway... the restaurant is right on the lake and you'll enjoy perfect views. The food is great, the service is very professional and the atmosphere is 'fine dining' but not stuffy/snooty.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. Our room was located in the newer renovated wing. Very clean and had the most comfortable King sized bed. I loved the double French doors that opened up and allowed us to enjoy the fresh air. We dined one night at the restaurant that had the perfect spot looking out on the lake and view of all the boats coming in and out. Service was spot on, the Sangria was to die for and definitely recommended. All in all a great place to stay and would recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Showed up and was hoping for an early check in but they were short on cleaning staff so I had to wait for my room but they were quick to accommodate and get the maids on it. It's an older classic hotel with an upscale elegant touch. Classy for the Okanagan. The rooms are big. Mine was at least 670sf. They charge $35 extra a night if you have a dog but they provide doggy packages in that price that consists of dog bowls, a ball, poop bags, treats, a dog bed etc which is a nice touch. They failed to inform me upon check in that the hot tub and steam room were down which was a big selling point for me along with the fact they take large dogs. When I complained at the front desk now worried I'd have nothing to do for the two days because I was looking forward to relaxing in the amenities, they gave me a key for the Manteo next door to use theirs as they co-own it. It obviously was next door and had no steam room but had a hot tub that wasn't too hot do I used it for ten minutes and left. I was originally going to book for three nights but cut my stay short because of this. I don't like that they fail to tell you this just to get you in the door but still charge premium prices. I still gave it a four star because this is based off of the amenities were working. I'll try in summer season because they have nice outdoor pools on the lake which will be nice but this is rainy season but I think the place would rock in the summer.

Great evening. Dinner in the temporary lounge (lounge was closed for liquor license violation) Very comfy beds, spotless room & free wifi.

** please note we only came for lunch, this review is only for the restaurant, not the hotel** So, I'm still in Kelowna visiting Grandma for Christmas. She wanted to go to the P&Q again, but it was closed as it was boxing day. So I went of my phone and went to my "around me" app. I read off a bunch of them and then the Eldorado Hotel came up and grandma immediately decided to go there. She pointed out that she hadn't been there in several years and the last time she was there was when my Grandfather was still with us. We arrived and it was very quiet, the hostess seated us in the room that overlooks the harbour and lake. Beautiful views, and because of the fog that day it made the lake look really eerie and still. We both ordered the Seafood Chowder to start, it contained Ling Cod Bacon, Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, Halibut,Salmon, Cream, Tomato, Potato and Fine Herbs. OMG probably the best seafood chowder I have ever had. It was fresh and hot and came with a nice side of bread. Lunch Grandma had - The steak sandwich (no surprise there), came with Mustard & Herb Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Baby Carrots, Wilted Arugula. She loved it, but it was so big she couldn't finish it. But it was fantastic. I had - The BC Halibut fish and chips with Napa Cabbage Slaw & Tartar Sauce. It was awesome. Perfectly fried fish, not to much batter and not greasy at all. The slaw wasn't overly drenched in dressing and the tartar sauce was perfect. This will definitely be a great place to go during the summer when the lake is in full swing.

Restaurant only. My friend and I stopped here for lunch order a few things, 2 BBQ chicken flatbread, salmon flatbread, and some sandwich which name is slipping my mind, but the food overall was great, almost amazing. The reason why I rated them so low was due to the service... or the lack of. At first, the server was friendly and informative about the food, took our order than after that we didn't see her until the check, which we had to ask for. We actually had a problem getting one of our flatbread and will never know why cause she never stopped by to check if all our food came out, we actually have to wave down another worker to ask for it. After over 10 minute delay, we finally got our missing flatbread and then there was the lack of water refills. We all had empty glasses half way through the meal and still never got water or have anyone come check on us. We had asked for the check after we had finished and even the server took a long time to process the card, even though we had our cards ready to go when she dropped off the check. Only when she was processing our cards when she started to make small talk with us, by then I was already internally enraged by the poor service and wanted to get out of there asap. Take away from this? Don't go here unless you plan to have to ask for every little thing.

I have eaten there about 6 times in the last 2 years for either lunch or dinner and have never been disappointed. We always are seated with out a reservation, and the service is great. I like the plain tshirts and skirts or shorts that the waiters and waitresses wear, its very suiting for this water facing restaurant, with alot of history. The summer time is the best time to go and face the boat launch to watch the people try and launch or trailer their boats. Its free entertainment! You do however get the odd retard that either flips out at his wife or guns it with the boat that he can't afford the gas too. The food menu does change and is limited but it is always great food and i always find something i like. The wine list is very good and the Mojitos are my favourite! They often have in the summer different flavoured mojitos which are delectable. My husband almost always has the beef dip sandwich with those lil fried onions and he loves it. For dinner their pasta is ok but your best going with a steak. If you go for lunch bring sunglasses.

Just had a wedding reception there this weekend for my brothers wedding. Top marks for their staff supporting their very professional wedding department there. Perfect buffet survive, very fresh and flavourful food, presented very nicely. It was a beautiful venue for a reception, right on the marina. I'll be back again to try the restaurant service. The kitchen looked spotless and the ala carte service looked delicious.

My partner arranged a very special romantic weekend away for us and included this beautiful hotel for one of the nights. Check in staff was lovely and courteous and professional. The Lakeview Luxury suite he booked was really amazing... gorgeous and spacious. We went for dinner and ordered steak with blue cheese topping. The service was terrible! It took forever to get our wine, and then we waited again to get a glass! Finally when the steak arrived it was so BURNED, (obviously so) that it was, for the most part, inedible. The slice of cheese on top was so thin it may as well not have been there. This was a $44 steak! I needed salt and pepper for the nice potato side, but none on the table and no waiter.. I waited and tried to eat this steak. I alerted the waiter of the problem and he was very apologetic and removed the steak from the bill, and he also took the wine off the bill, which was very nice. It's so unfortunate that this restaurant is managed so poorly. Understaffed for sure, and that chef needs a reality check. So.. we get to our room to find that the beautiful looking giant clawfoot style "Jetted-jacuzzi" tub was ridiculous. Tiny air-bubble jets, no real jacuzzi type jets at all. The tap poured either ice cold or burning hot from the 2 taps... Not good when you are in the tub already and trying to warm it up... getting scalded was not fun. The kitchen did not even have wine glasses or a cork screw, so we had to call the front desk to have them brought up.. in the Okanagan Wine country, during the wine festival... WTF?? The bed was perfect. Thankfully. I was so looking forward to the multi jetted shower the next morning! I wanted to end the stay on a good note and kept a positive outlook. Well, this shower could be compared to a fire department showing up at a 3 alarm fire with a garden hose. Ridiculously low pressure made it completely impotent. What a waste of what seemed like good equipment. We dared to give the restaurant another chance. Again, extremely POOR, SLOW service which just added icing to this disaster. This hotel could be so much more. It was so disappointing to see a perfect setting, a lovely hotel, ruined by poor management, a terrible restaurant, and poorly planned plumbing. We won't be back.

I was really excited to visit the historic Hotel Eldorado. Perfect waterfront location and gorgeous setting overall. The cocktails were excellent . I so wanted for this to be the 5 star experience that I expected. Unfortunately our servers on this particular evening ( labour day weekend) were neglectful. We had to ask for water several times. We had to call them to reorder cocktails. And it seemed that they spent a lot of time chatting among themselves. It was a buy evening to be sure- but it was still a little disappointing. We will certainly try again next time we are in Kelowna. It could have been an off day

I've been to the Eldorado twice. Once for their brunch buffet (probably the best I've ever had in my life, name it- they had it) so for brunch it's a solid 5 stars. Food was fresh and high quality. I came another time for a three course dinner. Their crab cake was very mushy and didn't have a desirable texture, nor did it come with any sauce so I was left with a dry, soft crab cake. Their brisket pasta was phenomenal, delicious and a large portion. And (despite the steep price), their shrimp cocktail was the best I've ever had. Excellent atmosphere, beautiful patio overlooking the water - really very special. Good service. Decent drinks and large wine list. 4 stars!

I rarely write reviews, but our meal tonight motivated me to put thumbs to screen. From food presentation to quality of service, I had a world class experience in a town that few even know exists. The restaurant's unique atmosphere comes from it being a restored hotel's dining room on the lakeshore with a boardwalk below and is as appealing as the incredible sunset views over Lake Okanagan. The service was what I always dream of and never receive. Chris was there only when we needed him and was able to promptly and truthfully answer every question asked of him. The food was absolutely perfect with unique flavors and originality that will make this meal memorable. The wine selection was perfect for the menu and the desserts, again, showed originality within a fine dining context. I look forward to my next trip to Kelowna and my next meal at the "El".

Dining - Went to have dinner on the patio with my wife and enjoy the lakeview and sun. Had some great drinks and great service and amazing clam appy but thats where it ends. The hot wings were the most over cooked wings on the planet. No hot sauce on them really. The ribs were cold, sauce was weak and even the string fries and coleslaw were cold and not great. Wont be back for the food. Drinks and view are great.

The deceiving exterior sign hide the fact that this place had a great lakeside deck. Food and service was great and views were better. Great way to spend a few hours.

My partner and I went for the Sunday brunch to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the experience we thought it would be. The biggest letdown was the food. You'd think for the price, things would be hot and fresh - but the fruit platter (fruit mirror?) was littered with moldy strawberries, the eggs benedict were so hard on the bottom they were inedible, and the coffee was horribly watery. The dining area is quite small and it feels like the canoe suspended in the ceiling could fall on your head at any moment. I got the misfortune of getting the seat with no window so I did not even get to appreciate the lake view. The service was nothing special, either. Overall, really disappointing.

My favorite Kelowna dining experience. Great view of the lake, not a bad indoor or outdoor seat in the house. Order the biscuit! I enjoyed the Farm to Tower entrée. Jennifer and team provided great service. Fun sangria special drinks.

We spend a lot of time at the Eldorado and so obviously we enjoy it. However last night they hosted my wife's 40th birthday party and I have to say they really impressed me again. The food was great and so were the drinks. Of course the atmosphere is always great as they have a great venue right on the lake. The service last night was amazing. From helping us decorate to serving our guests they were "on top" of everything the whole night. A special thanks to Kyle, Becky, Orlando, Chris, Kate, & Chloe who helped us create a very special night. Great job guys!

Love this restaurant. Always delicious and great atmosphere. We've been in the summer as well, and gorgeous view of the lake, doors open with a great breeze. Would like to try the patio this summer!
