Hotel Elefant

We stayed three days. The folks at the reception were very friendly, the breakfast was amazing, and the room was clean and really good. The location cannot be beat, as it is located centrally in the busiest part of the old town. Buses are three minutes away, and taxis can drive right up to the door (but probably only non-busy hours?). The bathroom, room service, and everything was amazing. One note - you need to be pretty fit to walk around from the lobby to some of the more distant rooms, up and down stairs, as I think the hotel is spread across two buildings that are internally connected. All in all, a great hotel.

Very nice location! Central and also a quiet little street with only pedestrian traffic. Shops all round. Perfect walk to the Christmas market. Interesting hotel which spans over a large area and weaves up and down stairs and elevators. A little precarious getting to a room on the other side of the hotel from the front entrance w two separate elevators and stairs in between, but doable. Very clean and the view from the rooms we had was magnificent w the Christmas lights and view of the cobblestone street and mountain side. Friendly staff and helpful. The room and the furniture and shower were dated, but clean.

Our 3-night stay was very nice. The property is in the heart of the Old Town convenient to all the historic sites and public transit. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The bathroom was a bit small but perfectly acceptable. I’ve seen complaints about the 20 € charge for breakfast but that does not strike me as unreasonable for a good quality European hotel. There are plenty of other options close to the property if you’re looking to spend less.

We stayed at Hotel Elefant in Salzburg for two nights, and it was a great experience. The location is absolutely the best part of the hotel it’s right in the city center, making everything accessible. We loved being able to explore the city, come back to the room for a rest, and then head out again without any hassle. It’s also conveniently located near the bridge that connects to the other side of Salzburg, which was very handy. We didn’t use public transportation at all because everything was within walking distance. Even the train station is only about a 15-minute walk away. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, the combination of location, comfort, and ease made our stay at Hotel Elefant really enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Salzburg.

Elefant Hotel Restaurant, Salzburg During our recent visit to Salzburg, we had the pleasure of dining at the Elefant Hotel Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! While I can't comment on the hotel accommodations, our lunch at the restaurant was truly a highlight of our trip. I ordered the creamy pumpkin soup for a starter while my husband had the beef broth with cheese dumpling. It was truly wonderful! For the main I ordered the fried salmon, which came beautifully plated with a rich potato gratin and a luscious lemon butter sauce, topped with capers. It was absolutely delicious! My husband chose the meat patties with creamy mashed potatoes, and remarked how tasty they were. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was fantastic as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth added to our dining experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t book a stay at the hotel! If the restaurant is any indication of the overall experience, I have no doubt it would have been wonderful.

The only good thing about this establishment is that it is central. Otherwise, it is a decent 2-3 stars, with small rooms, which are clean and warm, but absolutely plain, old and with a dysfunctional bathroom, where the water from the shower goes everywhere and doesn't drain. The amenities are scarce and old and God forbid you ask for anything as luxurious as hot water for a tea or medicine. The service is horrendous.

This hotel was great. It was in a perfect location was in a perfect location for exploring Salzburg for the first time. They were doing construction in front of the hotel but that never prevented access to the front door. There was a back exit, but for some reason guests could not use the back exit to re-enter, which would have been convenient. The rooms themselves were sizeable and the bathrooms were large and clean.||My one gripe is the pricing for laundry. Laundry service for one bag of laundry was about $200. We obviously could have asked for the price before handing over the bag (it wasn't listed anywhere) but we didn't have much of a choice as we needed clean clothes.

Our experience here was better than some of the reviews indicate although we also experienced a rather cold (rude?) attitude by one of the men at the front desk. Our room in the original part of the hotel was comfortable although the shower required a bit of care to not cause water leaks. We did not get the breakfast and had no trouble finding cheaper breakfasts nearby. The rooms were very clean and the common areas on each floor were interesting and attractive. All in all, it was a nice experience but the lack of personal warmth was a negative distraction.

If you want a place to stay in Salzburg that is conveniently located, clean, comfortable, and charming, Hotel Elefant is the place for you. In addition to all of those things, customer service is beyond compare. My husband inadvertently booked our stay a month late. When the alert manager quickly spotted that the date was different from those of our travel companions, he promptly called us in the U.S. to point out the discrepancy and help us get things sorted, avoiding a potential travel disaster. When we arrived at the hotel, i discovered I had left our lone electrical adapter behind in Germany, meaning we had no way to charge our phones. The manager kindly allowed us to borrow one, again averting a travel crisis. We cannot say enough good things about this lovely hotel and its thoughtful staff. H

Hotel Elefant is a wonderful place to stay in Old Salzburg. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and VERY CLEAN. The location is ideal, close to everything. The breakfast offers are also very good. We would highly recommend this hotel when in Salzburg.

My review is only for the restaurant, as we did not stay here. This hotel is very well-located right in the center of everything and just steps from dining, shopping, and most of the main attractions of the city. We sat outside for lunch and enjoyed beef goulash and traditional spaetzel. Both were sooo good. The beef on my fiancee's dish was moist and delicious, served with a potato/bread dumpling and by spaetzel came with crunchy onions as a garnish and a delicious fresh green salad. Several other things on the menu looked great, I could've come back here a few times! Service was prompt and polite with minimal wait on food, to order, and to settle the check. Big plus.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is in the middle of tourist area, but not on a crazy busy street. It was close to all kinds of shopping and sights. I didn't have to get a cab at all to get to everything I wanted to see. The room (single) was small but sufficient and comfy. I loved that you could actually open the window and see down the little street. The bathroom was also small, but sufficient. The room was immaculately clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They let me check in early and offered to call me a cab when I checked out. They answered my tourist questions and never talked down to me. If I ever go back to Salzburg, I will definitely stay there again.

Really amazing hotel - historic, upscale, beautiful, clean, friendly staff, good wifi, and delicious breakfast included. And it's in a perfect location to be able to sightsee throughout the historic area of Salzburg on foot. We would love to stay here again some day.

We booked an oversize room and it turned out to be exactly that as european hotel rooms tend to be a little small. The staff at the desk are great and speak good english. The location here is prefect for exploring the city, just make sure to call ahead and get directions to the parking garage as it is in the pedestrian area...the parking us ?11 a day even though the garage charges ?14 a day. You pay at the hotel, not the garage to get the discount. If we ever come back to salzburg we will be staying here. the only complaint I have is that the wifi signal is very weak.

Hotel Elefant was absolutely lovely. We managed to be in Salzburg on (what seemed to be) the one day when EVERYTHING was closed, but our hotel made up for it. All of the staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The location absolutely cannot be beat, and the room itself was very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend Hotel Elefant to anyone going to Salzburg, and if we decide to go back, we will absolutely stay here again.

Very pleasant, very quiet, terrific location. Room was a little small, but very attractive and clean, and bathroom had magnificent Euro-plumbing! Desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast included. Wi-fi is a little weak but we should be out exploring the city, right?
