Hotel Élite

My wife and me stayed here to see one of the Women's Euro games. I have stayed in a lot of European hotels, and i have never felt so welcome by a hotel. The lady that checked us in at the front desk was cordial and helpful and I felt like she went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The hotel is clean, and simple, but great. The location is central and convenient to walk to the train station and all the city sights. We also had the breakfast buffet, which was very very good. I want to go back to Sion one day and I would not hesitate to stay here and definitely will not hesitate to give me my wholehearted recommendation to anyone going to Sion.

We stayed here only one night as the main hotel we wanted to stay at was fully booked on the first day we arrived in Sion. It was conveniently close to the train station (about a 10 min walk) and well located for cafes and restaurants in the old town, which were only a short walk away. The reception is really only a tiny desk in a corner of a restaurant - not very impressive! And there is a very small and old fashioned lift that takes you up to the rooms, just enough to squeeze in 2 people with luggage. |Our room was very small and compact, which we didn't mind for a single night's stay. However there was no air conditioning, and in 30+ C heat, the room felt like an oven. They provided a cooler/humidifier in the room which we were compelled to use, but the noise from the machine kept us awake at night. Opening the windows was a no-no because of the noise from the street which went on until quite late (there is a bar/restaurant right below). The bathroom is also only just a glass cubicle in a corner of the room - very cramped, although the shower was decent. The beds were also soft, and generally the room felt stuffy and cramped. OK for a single night, but definitely not for much longer. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as there were cheaper and good options just a few minutes away. When we checked out, they gave us a small bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. It could be OK for a night or two, but definitely NOT in the summer when it's too hot in the room to sleep. They also insisted on us giving our phone number to have the WiFi password texted to us - not a good idea to give out phone numbers like this for obvious reasons, so we did not use the WiFi here at all. On the overall, not a wonderful experience, sad to say.

Tldr: not really clean, rooms too hot, its a problem. Feels more like a city Hostel, rather than Hotel. (+) Good: Polite Person at the front desk. Bath looked clean, good shower. Central location. (-) Not good: 39 Degrees in the Room (at 27 outside) This was even adressed by a laminated piece of Paper in the room basically saying "we know about the problem of the building that it is too hot, please keep windows and curtains closed during the day and open at night". Aha. But then theres the noise from the street. And people in other rooms smoking at night, which comes in through the window (happened several times). Also: there was a cigarette tucked in at the Window (inside the room) and trash - not dust, really just litter- under the bed and part of the floor around. We wondered what else wasnt clean. There was a big spider sitting on the toilet paper (which can happen, they like it warm). We just put it outside. Wifi (WLAN) was without Password and you had to give your Phone Number to get it. Which was not at all standard and felt weird. We did not feel good at this Hotel. Sorry...

Very friendly staff and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Good shower and working desk with excellent WIFI connection. Breakfast buffet is very good and starts already at 6.30Hr. It is a 5 minute walk from the train station and bus station for all regional buses.

It wasn't a nice hotel from the outside but hey, don't judge a book by it cover. |The rooms inside were renovated new nice bathrooms & small balconies. Well insolated so we didn't hear any noise from the other rooms|The breakfast was good nothing over the top. Management was very friendly and helpful. |We had been for the wine garden they have in Sion each year and they gave us one ticket free at reception.

No air conditioning = avoid in the summer or an unseasonably hot September. Otherwise, good location within walking distance to the train station and old town. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a small hotel with great staff. Mr. Francois is pending of you even prior to you arrival. I really get impressed to receive a call to follow up where I was and to guide me to the hotel once I arrived to Sion. Once there, you fell in home. Room are small but extremely comfortable if you are travel alone. For family, I will dig more if they have a room with more space.
