I’ve been to the restaurant, but not the hotel, even though they are part of the same place — so I’m not familiar with the rooms. The restaurant staff are absolutely amazing! They genuinely care about the guests, have a great attitude, communicate well, and have excellent product knowledge, which allows them to give great recommendations. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a calm and even romantic atmosphere. The food is incredibly tasty — I’ve never experienced such delicious flavors in Spain before. I’m definitely looking forward to visiting this restaurant again!

Who knew Ribes de Freser was hiding a restaurant that could outshine most places in Barcelona? We came for a scenic day out, stayed for the food coma. Tucked inside a beautifully designed hotel that looks like it was plucked straight out of Pinterest, this place doesn’t just serve food, it creates it. The dishes aren’t trying to be trendy or overcomplicated. They’re just outrageously good. The calamari paella? I’d sell family secrets for another plate. Rich, smoky, perfectly cooked, and somehow still light enough to justify ordering dessert (which you absolutely must do, the desserts are absurdly good. One bite and you’ll start rethinking your life choices up to this point). Service was friendly without being fake, the atmosphere was relaxed but elegant, and the whole place has that rare ‘why don’t more people know about this?’ vibe. Yes, it’s a 1.5 hour drive from Barcelona. Yes, you should absolutely do it. Just don’t eat breakfast beforehand. Or lunch the day before.

Recently we stayed this hotel for four nights. It was a very pleasant holiday! In our booking, we included a jacuzzi, so we paid slightly more. After hiking, we wanted to relax in the jacuzzi, but only four people could use it at the same time. Every day, we had to wait for about half an hour. Also, it seems people less took care of water for others. Water in jacuzzi wasn’t clean (so too much chlorine used and some dirt-deposits). I saw someone was spraying sun-screen in the jacuzzi. It’s not free to use, then I think it should be well maintained. That is only one reason I gave 4 stars for service. By the way, the location is great, it’s next to the Nuria train station!

We recently stayed at this hotel in Ribes de Freser, booking two separate rooms for ourselves and our children. Overall, the hotel is of high quality, with a warm, cozy, and fairly luxurious atmosphere. The rooms were well-renovated, clean (for the most part), and incredibly comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was the private jacuzzi in each room, as well as the rooftop jacuzzi with stunning mountain views. Spending time there was an unforgettable experience! Each room also had its own breathtaking view of the mountains, making our mornings and evenings truly magical. The hotel restaurant served tasty food, though the variety was somewhat limited, especially for those with dietary restrictions like myself. Unfortunately, there were no gluten-free options, which meant I had very little to choose from. While I enjoyed nearly everything about our stay, there was one major disappointment. Upon arrival, I noticed that the bathroom in our room hadn’t been properly cleaned. The jacuzzi still had long, foreign hairs in it, which was very unpleasant. I went to the reception to request a proper cleaning, and we left the hotel for a walk. However, when we returned, it became clear that the staff had only rinsed the tub without removing the hair. I had to clean the jacuzzi myself, which was not how I wanted to start my stay. This incident nearly ruined our otherwise lovely experience. Despite this, the quality of the hotel and its amenities were excellent, and I would still consider staying here again if cleanliness could be guaranteed. The views, cozy rooms, and rooftop jacuzzi are hard to beat!

Mixed. At checkin there was a big group before me. Initially I was asked what I was doing here, to which I answered checkin. I was tired after a long day, and after standing there for a while I sat down at a table at the (closed) restaurant right near the checkin desk, theres no place to sit in the lobby. This is all no problem but I became unhappy when I noticed after waiting for a long time that the lady let some other Spanish/catalan people go before me, this made me feel unwelcome. There was also no apology, I had to ask if she forgot about me, and I was told I should stay in the lobby. Yeah right, it took like 25min and I was 5meters away only. After that my checkin took only 2min. I booked the rustic suite, which is supposed to be one of the best. But it looks different from the pictures on the website, remodeled apparently. The windows are too low to look out of and for some reason they removed the traditional wooden window blinds, that are present in the pictures. The replacement blinds aren't as beautiful and not effective at blocking light in the morning. The spa bath is great, but there is no regular shower present, there's no way to shower standing up if you're over 170cm tall. I wouldn't recommend the steak in the restaurant. The other dishes were good and the service in the restaurant was quick. The breakfast was great and the breakfast staff was actually friendly and welcoming. Also the location was perfect for the train up the mountain. So mixed, some bad and some good. It just started out wrong.

We felt very welcome in this hotel..Staff is very friendly and ready to help. Our room was big, clean and quiet. We wished we had a possibility to make coffee or tea in the room and/or fridge.

In a word: avoid this hotel and restaurant. They apparently have a new building and an old dilapidated building. For some reason they placed us in the old building (a family of 4 in two rooms were booked that were named "superior"). The old rooms are low quality, shabby, dark, unventilated, etc. The price is therefore way too expensive for the experience. Avoid the hotel and frankly if you can help it - try to avoid staying in Ribes de Freser and choose a nicer place to spend the night. As for the restaurant: service was friendly but food way too salty to eat the food. It was a set menu and we ordered many of the choices which were either salty or bland (e.g. the fish in oven is not a whole fish but a 3 cm piece, the Calamari Paella had no calamari in it, etc.). The desserts were amusing: the crème brûlée was pasty etc ). Avoid!

Excellent food, and space. If you want to eat a great meal and price isn’t a huge concern, go there. You won’t be disappointed
