Hotel Esplanade Resort & Spa

Amazing choice for a weekend or a couple of days, only 2 hours from Berlin by train with 20-min walk from the train-station. The hotel is renovated, clean and rooms are comfortable. Breakfast buffet was a highlight, cheeses, omelets, very complete. There are 5 different saunas e 2 pools (one internal and one external) and relaxation zones, I highly recommend it!

Getaway weekend, last minute. Hmm. Half board, but upon checkin at 4:30pm no seating until 9:30. (overbooked) so they sent us to SeeBad restaurant. A walk away! There, very limited options for our plan, a snarky manager and inattentive waiter, not accommodating of dietary needs. Unsatisfactory. Totally. Spa good, but whirlpool cold and didn’t work. Good service there. Piano Bar good! Second dinner at Peshhutte quite good and accommodating of dietary restrictions. The hotel facility is very much showing its age. Reception people showing wear and tear from disgruntled patrons. Check out!!! So for a close to €1000 bill, there was an Electricity fee on top!!! And parking fees, in the middle of no where. The manager was curt - had to respond to this often - pulled out a printout of the confirmation email and literally reprimanded us for not reading it to the end. 5 pages down, on a confirmation email after booking paid!, a note about a surcharge for electricity & parking. Why anger customers who have deep pockets and aren’t looking for trouble??? The small stuff at the end, with the attitude and lines of other guests who were also angry was - businesswise - so stupid. We‘re not going back.

I've been coming to your hotel for over 10 years and hope to continue to do so, but there are some issues recently that have left me feeling that you no longer care so much about your guests. The breakfast buffet remains a highlight, with a large selection. However, recently you started asking guests to pay extra for smoked salmon by placing a small sign on the buffet. If you don't want to serve salmon openly anymore, just remove it from the offerings and don't insult your guests. Staying here is not inexpensive and being asked 2,50euro for a portion of salmon at breakfast...it just looks cheap. My real criticism of recent stays, however: The on-site restaurant (Pechhütte) changes its menu every couple months and this unfortunately means the food is usually not very good. It is very hard on staff to master a new menu so often, so I will be generous and assume the fault is not on the cooks, but with the head chef and management. Everything I tried on the new menu during a recent trip was over-salted to the point of feeling my mouth burn after my meal. After a salad, I even felt ill ... it was that salty. And I even like salt (!) In addition, the cooks seem to consistently struggle to cook meat to order, serving it either overcooked or raw. This is simply not acceptable, especially at the price points you charge. I am at the point where I will not attempt to eat there anymore, which is a shame because the convenience of a restaurant on the property is wonderful. Being able to eat on-site is part of the comfort I assume your hotel wants to offer its guests, but inconsistency is all your restaurant serves. This may make me consider going to another spa hotel in the future. I simply can't understand why the Pechhütte doesn't find a solid menu, stick with it, consistently cook it well, and stop coming up with "creative" new menus that clearly do so poorly that they have to be re-done every few months. I understand the Pechhütte wants to sell itself as "cooking outside the box," but "chaos" isn't a brand you want during a relaxing getaway. The new "chef's pizza" being sold at an impressively high 20,50euro and made "as the chef fancies" is simply ridiculous, especially when a pizza was 5-7euro less expensive even just a month ago at your other restaurant (which is currently closed). I have had meals at the Pechhütte over the last few years that were bad enough to almost ruin an otherwise wonderful experience at your hotel. Please correct this issue. Your hotel is otherwise mostly wonderful!

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our visit to the lovely town of Bad Saarow. The location is peaceful and charming, and the hotel itself is overall quite nice. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was standard for a buffet - eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, tea, coffee everything you would expect. However, there were very few fruits, and no small desserts or sweet pastries to go with coffee, which would have been a lovely touch. One major downside: the pillows were extremely uncomfortable too soft, thin, and unsupportive. We could barely sleep. I honestly can’t imagine staying more than one night with pillows like that. I strongly encourage the hotel to consider replacing them with something more suitable for restful sleep. Another key point: the hotel is adults-only, which we actually appreciated as we were traveling without our child and hoped for a relaxing stay. Unfortunately, the SPA facilities close at 8 PM including the pools, saunas, and treatment areas. That was a big disappointment. We arrived at 3 PM, used the spa before dinner, but couldn’t enjoy it afterwards, when it would have been perfect to unwind. In other adult-only hotels we’ve stayed at, pools and relaxation areas are typically open much later sometimes until 11 PM or even all night. Even more frustrating: the SPA opens at 8 AM, but when we came at 8:45, the outdoor pool was closed, and all saunas were still cold - clearly not heated in advance. We felt this was poorly managed, especially for a SPA hotel, where access to warm, functioning wellness areas is part of what we pay for. In summary: the hotel itself is pleasant, and Bad Saarow is a beautiful destination we’d love to return to. But we were disappointed by how the spa area was handled and hope the management takes this feedback seriously. It really impacted our overall experience.

Great place for quick weekend escape. I do recommend to reserve restaurants for evening. They have 3 options - Japanese (at the lake - best one), Italian (with lake view tartare), Hotel Restaurant (also with lake view but close to small quiet street. Spa offers great treatments and salt water in outdoor pool is amazing - special Esplanade mixture that contain Red See salt :)

Good hotel in a great location, walking distance to center of town of Bad Saarow. Room Rates are high but in line with what others offer in this location. Service is solid and friendly, and the hotel offers a great breakfast.

We were served by the lovely Victoria! Service was 100% made us feel very welcome and had a smile on her face! Would recommend for anyone coming too bad saarow! Thankyou Victoria

Taxi drivers don t accept cards and don t stop their noisy radio programme. You won t think that they re part of professional public transports. The german system is a desaster for some years now. Uber is also not acceptable bc they pay no taxes on profits in Germany and are often cofinanced ilkegally by public social aid.

We looked for a romantic good resturant to end our vecation. That's was the perfect choice. Not cheap but worth it! Don't miss it
