If you want to get scammed on the bill, see rats in the dining area, and eat cold food - this place is for you. Not sure if this place has new management or if the staff are literally incompetent (especially the chef) - but we used to stay here and eat here EVERY time we would be in Dumaguete. Not anymore. Both our meals came cold, and the pork belly tasted really old. We lost our appetite and requested a refund after only 2 bites, they wanted to charge us full price. Then, after the chef not being happy with the situation because he can’t accept the fact that he’s severely incompetent at his job (you know, because the food was cold prior to serving) - they tried to charge us double the amount in a service charge hoping that we wouldn’t see it. If you don’t believe me, look at the photo attached. Oh - and there was a giant rat that literally ran past us whilst we were waiting for them to fix the bill (for the 4th time) - not even kidding. I can’t imagine how many rats and how dirty the kitchen would be if I went in there. Dumaguete is a horrible city in general, but this made me dislike it even more haha. Best places to eat whilst here - go for these instead: Jollibee, McDonalds, or better yet - just fast and don’t eat.

The hotel is a bit older and there were a few minor issues like a broken room light and some stains on the mirror, but overall it was a nice stay. They fixed our room while we’re out roaming around the city. We also enjoyed the free breakfast, which was a hearty buffet. The staff were very accommodating too!

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were friendly and attentive, the room was clean and spacious, and the amenities were top-notch. I especially appreciated the convenient location, delicious breakfast, and comfortable beds. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay. I'll definitely be back.

I’m disappointed to say that our stay at Hotel Essencia did not meet our expectations. The room was very hot throughout our stay, and it felt like the AC was not working properly. This made it uncomfortable, especially with a baby. The room itself also felt quite outdated and could really use maintenance and upgrades. The biggest and most upsetting issue was the laundry service. We had our clothes washed, and when we received them back, all of them had holes, including our baby’s clothes! We were shocked and distressed, as we ended up leaving with nearly all of our clothes damaged and unusable. The staff were polite, which we appreciate, but the issues we experienced especially the laundry damage are serious and unacceptable!Unfortunately, because of this experience, we would not choose to stay here again unless major improvements are made.

Vibrant atmosphere, Clean and well-maintained. Comportable and modern amenities. Friendly and acommodating staff. Convenient location and near restaurants. Common areas are superb, making it an ideal spot for creating memorable experiences.

The staff are very accommodating and polite. The room is very clean and the comfort room as well. Fried foods like shrimp tempura and calamari taste good together with the potato salad. 10 stars for the overall. ✔️✔️✔️

Value for money!Great location, just few walks away from the seaside/boulevard and near to malls, restaurants and tourist spots.Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Wifi is decent and tv comes with Netflix. Hot shower is available, and so is hair dryer. Breakfast buffet is great, with good selection considering the price. We were able to grab two nights stay at around P1800 per night.You will surely get your money’s worth for the stay.

Front desk staff was welcoming and the included breakfast buffet was decent- that is the only reason I gave this place 1 star. With that being said, I don't think I need to explain any further after saying I was pestered w bed bug bites during my stay. Find another place, unless you enjoy red itchy welts all over your body during your vacation. And possible i fest and carry them back home with you.

This hotel doesn't give refund for the recent outbreak even if the airlines can't fly here. This place sucks! Bad business policy's STAY AWAY!
