Hotel Essencia

Great location near the port and at the city center. Check in was easy. They accommodated my request for 2 single beds in the room. Everything was working in the room except the hot water shower. After their staff checked the problem, I accepted their offer to just use the shower in the next room to avoid the hassle of transferring. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were very accommodating and helpful.

The staff is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. While the fixtures are somewhat outdated, they are very clean. The hotel provides all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Please note that slippers are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own.

Check in staff not so friendly, one hour early so we had to wait for our room. Went to the dining area and ordered a burger and a sandwich, after 40 mins we inquired about where our food was, it was soon to arrive only to be cold! There was only 2 other tables of guests in attendance.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Essencia and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. My room was spotless and beautifully decorated, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city, and I especially enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast spread each morning I love the puto with cacao chocolate. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dumaguete and will definitely be back!"

The hotel itself is very outdated already but the facilities and the room is neat. I also loved the buffet with the filling options and its great location where shops and other establishments stand. Overall, we had a relaxing stay.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Dumaguete, with key places just a short walk away — ideal for those who prefer exploring the city on foot. Room – 7/10 The room was clean and comfortable, suitable for a short stay. It came with complimentary bottled water and basic toiletries, which was a nice touch. Buffet Breakfast – 8/10 The buffet breakfast exceeded expectations. They offer a good variety of dishes including fruits, bread, soup, desserts, and hot beverages. A solid way to start the day. Would recommend for business travelers or short stays in Dumaguete.

Love it here as it is very accessible within the city! Rooms are nice and clean. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Overall, we had a great stay and experience.

Unfortunately, my stay here was not what I was expecting. The rooms were quite filthy, and I was really disappointed with the overall cleanliness. The key card wasn’t working well either, which was a hassle every time we needed to get back into the room. The washroom especially needs attention. It wasn’t properly cleaned, and the shower drain was clogged, making it impossible for water to drain properly. It's a basic thing that should be taken care of, especially if you want guests to have a comfortable experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously because they really need to improve cleanliness and maintenance for future guests.

Front desk staff was welcoming and the included breakfast buffet was decent- that is the only reason I gave this place 1 star. With that being said, I don't think I need to explain any further after saying I was pestered w bed bug bites during my stay. Find another place, unless you enjoy red itchy welts all over your body during your vacation. And possible i fest and carry them back home with you.

This hotel doesn't give refund for the recent outbreak even if the airlines can't fly here. This place sucks! Bad business policy's STAY AWAY!
