Hôtel du Bac (Combrit, Brittany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the south side of the Breton peninsula, barely a mile up the Odet river, is the port of Sainte-Marie, on whose waterfront sits the Hôtel du Bac. From the outside it’s a perfectly classic small maritime hotel, and its interiors adhere even more closely to the aqua-and-white color scheme, though they’ve been updated by the attentions of a contemporary designer. It’s perfectly lovely as it is, but what elevates it to a must-visit is the presence of Le Bistrot du Bac, where chef Thibault Rosset deals in dishes that focus on fresh local seafood." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely setting and nice rooms with view over river. Breakfast average for 15 euros. No air conditioning. Our stay was somewhat marred by discovering after a long day out that the bar and restaurant area was booked out for a private party. Staff were quite rude about telling us we couldn't even have a drink. The party went on way longer than advertised. All they needed to have done is tell us at breakfast that we wouldn't be welcome until 8pm. Disappointing that hotel guests get treated so shabby. Otherwise a really nice place.

Just fabulous. The location is out of this world. View from room onto the sea was to die for. Food and service superb. Amazing

The view from our hotel room was to die for. Open the window and you have a view of this small port with its fishing boats. The location is perfect for a romantic getaway. The hotel room was very clean, well decorated and the personnel were polite and welcoming. We will definitely return!

We drove here having left Benedot across the estuary. We just happened to find this restaurant overlooking the water. A superb position. We sat inside as it was quite chilly. The views are wonderful. ||I had the whole crab with mayonnaise which was so fresh and the the biggest crab I've ever had. It took me ages to crack my way through it. ||My husband had the lamb which was well presented and cooked perfectly. ||We both fell for the lemon meringue tarts. We saw them being served to the people at the table be to us. They were divine. I don't normally have a dessert, but couldn't resist this dessert!||The staff are fantastic, so friendly, helpful and well organised. Can thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant with its crisp blue and white interior.

Location of the hotel is outstanding, twenty meters away from the harbor where fishermen stop to unload fishing of the day. Location is very quite, no car, no traffic, view on the Odet river is awesome. Staff is very friendly, restaurant is nice with fresh seafood, room are clean and sober, so everything could be fine, but unfortunately Wifi just did not work in my room despite my effort, forcing me to focus on the beautiful view.

This hotel is in the ultimate location. Rooms are spacious and clean with phenomenal views overlooking the bay. Gorgeous part of the world. Quality of food from the restaurant at dinner was also very good. Staff very nice. Only downside was it had absolutely horrible pillows.

Hotel du Bac is a special little hotel on the coast. The views from are bedroom were spectacular. The location is superb, the bistro was excellent. There are a few other restaurants in walking distance which are also very good. Our stay was very uplifting.

We were warmly welcomed even at 11pm; given a room with sea view and lovely decor, The cutwork art throughout the place is original and lively, the restaurant is a bustling scene and there is free parking nearby as well as a public washing machine and dryer, much needed after a week on the road, A little navette takes people to Quimper from here for 9 euro, good value and a great little Breton destination...
