Hotel Euler

Superb location right outside train station and tram stops, it says rooms are soundproofed but I could hear every train and tram even with ear plugs in from 445am There's a lot of trains/trams. There's a Burger King and McDonalds within a 2 min walk and also a Migros store (Tesco/Aldi) just within the train station. There's only a coffee machine in the room. No tea making facilities. Asked at reception for a kettle, thankfully we only drink herbal tea as no tea sugar milk was offered. But there's only expresso size cups in the room, so 1 drink and it's gone. Feather pillows but only 1 each so had to double it up. Could of asked for another I guess but was too exhausted. Great bonus the free travel card and late checkout 12 noon. They will also store baggage. They have a bar and restaurant which we never used but looked lovely. We ate in a Vietnamese restaurant Mum's Kitchen which was an 11minute walk away and food was fabulous - huge portions, the fried rice would easily feed 2 people. 60chf for 2 mains and 2 cokes, great value.

Great location, excellent staff, very clean room. We liked the older style of the hotel. Who wants to stay in an ultra-modern, glass cube when visiting Basel? The room was very clean and comfortable. The desk showed signs of some wear from prior guests. Again, the front desk staff was wonderful.

In a nutshell - Pros: Heritage charm, central location close to Bahnhof Basel SBB train station, public transport, food outlets & cafes. Walking distance to historic Basel centre. Staff very helpful. Buffet breakfast - good quality & variety. Cons: Worn out, floppy dated bed, furnishings, tight fit toilet/shower. Steps up to entrance. Vintage interior is charming but everything in the economy single room needs upgrade. Not 4 star at all. Quiet enough but has a connecting locked door to next room - made me uneasy. Secure coded safe is old, manual type & high up on shelf. Basic amenities but thankfully, a good selection of tea & coffee pods. Have to use coffee pod machine to boil water for tea. I am grateful for early check in upon arrival at 10.00 am on 20 Dec 2025 recently. Staff also had to assist with turning up heating - old hydronic type behind curtains. Worn dial knob fell off!! As with most hotels, luggage can be stored for few hours if need be - token will be given. Great place for short stay but room facilities are not great. Check online for better room & facilities when booking.

Brilliant from start to finish.|Receptionist on arrival was very helpful.|Room was quiet, comfortable.|Breakfast was great more than enough choice. The staff worked hard.|The young lady in the breakfast room and the young man on bar and food duty were lovely, friendly and hard working.|Perfect location for the bus to and from the airport, trams to and from the hotel to the centre, and the train station, all in all a pleasurable exoerience. Would definately stay again. Highly recomnend.

Perfect location for the station and all the trams which we made full use of with the guest card issued by the hotel. We were in a deluxe room which I would say was a little on the small side and probably due an update. We were at the back of the hotel which meant it was very quiet but just had a view of a flat roof. Comfortable overnight stay and would stay again.

The oldest hotel in Basel Switzerland and still the most conveniently located. Oh, and just a 12 minute walk from where we got married 40 years ago! Only downsides were lack of user-accessible electrical outlets in room, no wheelchair access, and a disastrous dinner experience in the hotel restaurant.

Very good local, conveniently in front of the train station and trams. Room was clean and nice. Toilet was big too. Enjoyed my stay.

Decent size rooms with wonderful mattresses. The hotel is steps from the SBB train station and most of the city trams. Staff has been pleasant and helpful. I would recommend staying.
