The hotel clearly has a very respectable past. There is a gallery in the reception with lots of famous names who have stayed here (in the 50’s). You can see from the building and stairs and ceilings and general decor that it’s from another era. I love the charm of it. The room we get is really a suite, with anteroom, lounge, bedroom and bathroom, and even a balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom is newly tiled and clean, bed is ample but rather soft. Coffee machine with supplies, fridge, lots of electric sockets. Robes (no slippers).|The sad side is that the room isn’t properly serviced. No extra roll of toilet paper, no shower gel or shampoo- but conditioner and lotion - no extra pillows and the air conditioner only works in the lounge part. Coffee cups don’t fit onto the provided saucers.|The room is full of level changes like a little sharp edged step into the room and into the bathroom, which doesn’t improve my mood as I keep tripping. |It’s quiet and we slept well.|There is a gym, it has a treadmill, bike, step machine and Swiss ball, plus a multi gym but no free weights.|Breakfast was ample if a bit hit and miss, coffee machine very slow, jam missing from the selection one day, juice and water not really cold. But there was hot stuff, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurts and cereals bread and a selection of doughnuts and you could enjoy it outside if you don’t mind the trams and traffic passing by, the Hotel is well situated next to the station.
