I stayed at the Hotel Euler for 5 nights with my Father earlier this month. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for our daily trips on the train to a nearby village to visit family. Service in the hotel was very good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Two very minor comments are, firstly, that at breakfast it would have been nice if used plates/bowls had been cleared as we worked our way through the very good breakfast buffet. Secondly, there was only one pillow on the bed when we arrived and we had to ask for more. I think perhaps there could be two pillows as standard. We used the bar/lounge most evenings during our stay and it was a very nice, relaxed atmosphere especially with the pianist playing most evenings. No complaints at all and would certainly return if the opportunity arises. many thanks for making the Hotel a very pleasant place to stay.

We loved this hotel! Everything was flawless, from the staff to the quality of the hotel. The decor was classy and the location is perfect, being so close to the station, Markthalle and trams. The hotel also kindly provided us with a Basel card for free public transportation and discounts on museums etc. Really couldn't have asked for more. We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff - such an amazing time here! The pianist was fabulous - a lovely touch. Great thanks to Alina for a wonderful check in and special thanks to the fantastic Carmelo (grazie mille!), who was so very helpful to us when we had to adjust our hotel dates due to the train strike. Can't wait to return and will definitely stay here again when we do.. Highly recommended!

+ super friendly staff + great location - dirty rooms, hair everywhere, also in the bathtub (a 4-star hotel cannot allow for something like this to happen!!) - Very uncomfortable pillows - restaurant food is so-so. Really bad ice-cream (one had pieces of ice inside, the other - pieces of milk fat). I suppose it wasnt stored properly - Breakfast was also so-so. I was hoping for warm croissants at least, but no, not even that. I've been to places with much less stars with better price/value!

lay hoon.

Located next to Basel train station, well maintained and clean. It has all basic amenities in the room. The staff is friendly and professional.

The Grand Hotel Euler is in such a great location for arriving at the train station and for access to the tram system that runs through the city of Basel. We were made very welcome at the reception and offered a free Basel transport card for our stay which was very useful. All of the staff we spoke with during our stay were really friendly.|there were 5 of us staying in 3 rooms and all of our rooms were really clean and stocked with bottled water and a tea/coffee making machine. I asked for an extra pillow and they immediately made sure each of us in our party was given an extra. We had a drink and snacks at the bar a couple of times and the man on the bar ( Giovanni) was super nice and the service was great. |The rooms were all super clean and the bathrooms a good size with heated towel rails.

This is undoubtedly a great place to stay when visiting Basel, above all for its excellent location, just a stone's throw from the main Swiss and French railway station and the tram hub. The level of service afforded to me from the staff was exceptional, and I had everything I needed for a superb stay here. The room was warm and cosy and in pristine condition. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, and I even enjoyed having both an aperitif and digestif on the small balcony before and after dinner. The bar staff were extremely welcoming, and I enjoyed some late night chat here with fellow guests before retiring to my room. The price was very good value, considering how expensive Swiss hotels can be. The only downsides were that the reception informed me that they do not offer any possibility of late checkout (my return flight being at 9pm) and that at breakfast the meat and cheese boards (as you can see from my video) were completely uncovered. I witnessed many guests coughing over them or in the vicinity (remember it was winter and germs galore!!!). I really feel that they should be covered with lift-up plastic lids, as is my experience in many other hotels, and for this reason, I felt very uncomfortable selecting food from the display, however tempting it appeared. This was particularly disappointing since breakfast was not cheap here. If they could improve on those two aspects, particularly the latter, then I would have happily awarded five 🌟 stars.

The hotel clearly has a very respectable past. There is a gallery in the reception with lots of famous names who have stayed here (in the 50’s). You can see from the building and stairs and ceilings and general decor that it’s from another era. I love the charm of it. The room we get is really a suite, with anteroom, lounge, bedroom and bathroom, and even a balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom is newly tiled and clean, bed is ample but rather soft. Coffee machine with supplies, fridge, lots of electric sockets. Robes (no slippers).|The sad side is that the room isn’t properly serviced. No extra roll of toilet paper, no shower gel or shampoo- but conditioner and lotion - no extra pillows and the air conditioner only works in the lounge part. Coffee cups don’t fit onto the provided saucers.|The room is full of level changes like a little sharp edged step into the room and into the bathroom, which doesn’t improve my mood as I keep tripping. |It’s quiet and we slept well.|There is a gym, it has a treadmill, bike, step machine and Swiss ball, plus a multi gym but no free weights.|Breakfast was ample if a bit hit and miss, coffee machine very slow, jam missing from the selection one day, juice and water not really cold. But there was hot stuff, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurts and cereals bread and a selection of doughnuts and you could enjoy it outside if you don’t mind the trams and traffic passing by, the Hotel is well situated next to the station.

Perfect location. Literally a stones throw away from the main train station and direct access to the Basel tram network, so that is a plus. You also receive a free ‘travel card’ if you stay at Hotel Euler to use the trams and busses in the Basel area. The staff were friendly and spoke English which is a plus if you are a tourist. They attended to all our requests (minor what we wanted but still they were acknowledged and dealt with). The breakfast was included in our hotel price , nice little buffet choice of bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages with a choice of pastries , fruit and yogurt. A choice of 2 cheeses , salmon and some cold meat. Coffee, tea and fruit juices were available. A simple breakfast but that is all that was needed to fill you up for the day. Sitting outside on the patio area , people watching in the sunshine while eating breakfast was a perfect start to the day. We made use of the restaurant the afternoon before and had a pleasant light lunch with friendly service. The hotel room was clean, the bathroom was clean. Sure the carpets are a little dated but it is not listed as a 5 star so I was not expecting a 5 star type carpet , so that would be unfair to judge them on that. I would definitely go there again if I had a few things planned for an outing in Basel and would require an overnight stay.
