Everything is average here, but it is good value. I paid 58 euros incl breakfast. can't really argue with that when they are fighting to survive like most other businesses. My room was quiet, the a/c worked well and also the shower. Parking is offsite at 16 for the day. Walk to centre is 7 minutes. Nice bar/restaurant opposite..

Positives||||• Close to the centre of town||• A modern look to the hotel||• A reasonable amount of space on the entrance floor with 2 computers and relaxed seating.||• I had a comfortable double bed and desk to work at. ||• There plenty of lights in the room.||• The windows were double glazed and cut out most of the noise from the street. ||• Room was clean, bedding was clean and towels were clean. ||• Friendly and helpful staff on reception – but with limited English.||||Negatives||||• Sound insulation between the rooms is poor – I could hear the conversations of the couple next door very clearly.||• The room doors have to be slammed when leaving in order to get them to close & lock. This is noisy for early check-outs.||• The breakfast is strangely minimal – toast with a very limited choice of strange toppings, fruit and small glasses of cheese, tomatoes, etc. One of the poorest breakfasts I have been offered. A friendly woman offers one cup of coffee.||• I only got the internet to work once in my room – the signal was just too weak. Any competent management would test for this and install boosters – they are about $40 on Amazon. ||• The people in the room next to me liked to have a cigarette in their room at 07:00 and the fumes came into my room in seconds. Shows how poorly constructed the walls are. I wouldn’t choose to breathe someone’s second hand smoke – it is proven to cause lung cancer. ||• A taxi ride from the train station (5 Euros with tip) but more convenient for the bus station: about 7 minutes walk away. ||• By USA standards the room was small and the bathroom was very small. There was very little storage space. ||||Conclusion||||I picked the Hotel Europa because it was the best hotel I could find in or near Jaen. On staying there I didn’t think it was a very good hotel. On seeing it on my first night I didn’t want to stay but the lack of choice in town kept me there. The photographs flatter the hotel and make it look modern and themed. It is already getting worn. ||||The real problem is lack of competition in Jaen which enables the hotels in town to get away with poor quality. The Parador is closed for refurbishment at the moment – but you require a car to stay there – it is a 35 minute walk up a very steep hill from town. ||||Regrettably, for me the choice of hotels is so poor if I were doing this trip over I would stay somewhere else and come to Jaen as a day trip.

The location is fine, near the centre. Rooms are clean and quiet. The top floor room we were in had a terrace, although it was an attic room so it was a bit claustrophobic. The breakfast was OK, not much of a selection. No pool or anything like that. I couldnt change the TV audio into english, since the menus were locked, even though everything is broadcast with dual audio in spain.||This hotel must have been very nice when it was new, but it really needs a bit of attention. The carpets are worn and the walls are scuffed. There's nothing wrong with it, but the whole place seems a bit worn out. I dont think I'd stay here again.

I booked a Double Room with a Terrace for 4 nights using Booking.com and later confrmed with the Hotel.||||We arrived in Jaén by train and it is an uphill walk, but achievable.||||Hotel Europa is a contemporary hotel. There is a ramp as well as steps into reception. We received a friendly welcome and map. We were allocated Room 507. There is a lift. ||||Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we had the added bonus of a terrace. There is a little entry foyer. The terrace overlooked rooftops at the back of the hotel and also the castle. Our beds were very comfortable and it is so quiet that we had a really good sleep. Wifi is free and fast. We needed a bit of help with connection initially for our PC (but the ipad worked), but the female receptionist went to great lengths to make sure it worked and it was appreciated. There is air con and a TV (we did not turn it on). Bottled water was provided, and replenished each day for us in our room. A nice touch.||||The ensuite was a nice size and the rainshower worked well. The water was hot. ||||Breakfast was held downstairs in the foyer and is buffet style, except the coffee, which was made for us. Juice, cereals, fresh fruit, different each day, cold meats and cheese and a selection of breads, and pastries. Plenty of choice there to suit everyone The staff were helpful and courteous here as well.||||There are computers in the foyer for guests to use.||||All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and courteous. ||||The location of Hotel Europa is very good. Its an easy walk to the Cathedral area and Palacio Villardompardio. The bus station is particularly easy to access and from here day trips to Úbeda and Baeza. ||Jaén is a friendly, non touristy type of town, with a seriously beautiful Cathedral with marble footways in the vicinity. It deserves much more attention than what it gets, but then maybe thats its charm!||||We consider this hotel exceptionally good value and recommend staying here.

We stayed for two nights having booked through booking. com. We arrived in Jaen by bus from Malaga, the café at the bus station was particularly good.||The walk from the bus station is not far but very steep, also the pedestrian walk to the hotel entrance is extremely steep.||The daytime receptionist was friendly and helpful and spoke good English.||We had a room on the third floor which was modern, clean and roomy. we did have a problem with our room safe which someone had locked in the open position so we were unable to use that during our stay. The free wifi worked well.||Breakfast downstairs was buffet style but good and the coffee was nice.||We went to Ubida which is well worth visiting and the walk to the bus station to get our bus there was only ten minutes downhill.||All in all we enjoyed this hotel for our stay in Jaen.

Had a room with a terrace which was nice, but probably used by smokers.|Breakfast was a bit basic, but then, this was not an expensive hotel. Not a buffet, they served us from the buffet.|Good location near town.||

Firstly, the hotel is difficult to find, being up a narrow side-street off a main avenue. It is situated on a ridiculous one-way system around a very small square where it is very difficult to park temporarily. Official parking is around half a mile from the hotel through some very narrow side-streets and difficult to find. Despite the website boasting of their reception staff being able to speak a multitude of languages, the man who greeted us barely spoke English. Wi-fi did not work, despite the receptionist insisting it did - worked fine at the cafe across the road. Rooms were clean but bathrooms needed upgrading; plumbing certainly needed attention judging by smell in both bathrooms.

The hotel has mid-high price, around 100€ / day in a double bed. Depends on the room you will have 1 bed of 1,35 or 2 bed of 1,10 ... from my point of view the rooms with 2 beds are better and bigger, and the price is the same.||The location is the best of the hotel, by walk is in about 5 min, very close to the sight and bars.||I invite you to go out to take the breakfast, Jaen in very cheap and you can go to a terrace with a good weather to enjoy with a 'tostada de tomate con jamón' and a coffee ( 3 - 4€). Very close to the hotel you can find a place called 'El botijo', calle virgen de la capilla, totally recommended for the breakfast.
