Writing this review on my last night at the hotel: service in this hotel is definitely more like a 3-star hotel.
Inside some interesting historical pieces, and the elevator is really cool, with seats, that are more like sofas - i wish more elevators were like this one :)
1. Upon arrival, there was no tissue box in the bathroom. Three days in a row i requested it every single day. but just heard “ok”, no follow-up. Eventually, on my 3rd day stay, when the reception team member (who came to check whether TV in the room works or not), was confronted and asked whether i can have tissue box, he said they do not have it in the whole hotel.
2. Tea bags - there are two upon arrival. They are not restocked for the rest of the your stay. - 4-star hotel service?
3. Coffee sachets - 2 are given upon arrival, written on the paper on the wall (enclosed to this feedback). Since the very first day there was only one in my room and has never been added the 2nd one.
4. Sauna- one has to sign up.
5. Gym is small and there are a few machines.
6. Pool is with warm water, mostly empty. It is a nice one. Though, i can’t understand who decided to put the wood boards around the pool, they smell. Two times I was there the watch on the wall showed wrong time.
7. The room that i got was a good size and quite modern.
8. They don’t change bed sheets, towels, etc, unless one asks. For that, you have to call the housekeeping and ask them to do it. Cant u make a card or a hanger on a door, that a guest can leave on the bed, without calling?
Housekeeping - since there are no sheets to be changed or towels (because yes, we would like to be environmentally friendly), can you at least be more attentive, and spent more time cleaning surfaces in the bathroom and floor.
TV was not working since the very first day of our arrival - also responsibility of the housekeeping to check whether it works and if it does not, we should have been warned upon check-in. On the 3rd day, when i called staff to show me how it works (yes, i started doubting my skills of turning on TV), and it was confirmed it was not working, we were kindly offered to change the room, but we refused since it is not a must for us to have one in the room, but still, should have been checked.
9. Restaurant “Scala”, the food is good and the service staff as well - efficient, fast, and friendly. We had half-board: breakfast is good, great variety, ladies are friendly and efficient, coffee is not delicious.
Dinner - for 5 nights we were given a menu, from which we could choose dishes, and on the very last night we were given a set menu: without any warning and flexibility to keep the previous arrangement for the last night. Manager said the reception should have warned us. They tried to soften our disappointment, by giving free stuff, but the last impression was definitely ruined.
Many things are not client-focused, but rather take it or leave it, and no follow-up on requests.
If you expect 4-star customer service, that is not the place.
I will not come back to this hotel.
