Hotel Eurostars Diana Palace

A few weeks ago, my wife and I spent three nights at this hotel. Everything was close to perfection. The personnel tried to meet all our requests and please us at every step. The room was relatively large, modernly furnished and clean. Even though our room faced the street, we could not detect any noise.||||The breakfast buffet was full of excellent choices and healthy items, both cold and hot. As far as the location, we must say that it is very good, just outside the historic center of Palencia, and within easy walking to most places of interest. However, in order to reach the hotel, coming from the city center or from the train station, you must walk through an underground pass and climb some stairs. Though unusual, this was not a real problem for us. ||||The personnel was kind enough to give us an extra hour at check-out time in order to make our departure by train more convenient to us. We did not use the food services the hotel offers, but we enjoyed had nice tea evenings by the reception and bar areas.||||In summary, we will gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palencia. It represents good value at a true four stars category.

Wonderful hotel and staff at front desk. These people became like friends to us and promised to come by to visit us at our new house in one of the pueblos. Excellent location since everything is in walking distance, except el Cristo maybe. Awesome place!

A convenient short walk away from downtown.||Upon my request, an electric kettle was provided in the room. Friendly check in, decent modern room. The parking is done by elevator, only after reporting to the reception--> every parking spot is assigned by the reception.

Friendly staff on arrival who spoke excellent English and explained where to eat and main attractions in the area. Unfortunately the underground parking not suitable for our large car. Room was modern, clean. Beautiful bathroom. We had a balcony and this was nice to be able to use although it was November. The Hotel restaurant was closed on the Saturday night. But lots of local restaurants and not too far to walk to a pleasant shopping precinct.

This hotel has easy access to and from the the train and bus station. The room was freezing. I was not able to control the temperature in the room. I went to have a tea and it was freezing in the bar area as well. If you are always running cold I don't recommend staying here because you will freeze.

Second visit to this hotel and the standards experienced last time have not diminished.||Clean tidy foyer and very professional reception staff.||Two floors of underground car parking, altho not for the faint hearted as the lift is tight as are the parking spaces.||Altho a smaller room this visit the facilities were clean, new, and all present.||My only gripe regarding the hotel are the prices at the bar. We had a meal in town and came back to the hotel but decided to have a couple of drinks "in house".||We were charged €28.00 for four drinks. Very nice tho they were - spoilt the experience.||SO BEWARE..||Overall and like before - we look forward to our next visit..

Booked this hotel on the express condition that it had secure on-site parking as we were carrying valuables in the car. When we arrived our car (a Citroen C5 Estate) was too big to manoeuvre into the vehicle lift because the road outside was too narrow. After a couple of minutes of trying there was traffic backed up behind me all hooting. Pulled onto the footpath and shot into the hotel to explain the problem. Although the receptionist was perfectly polite my Spanish nor her English were good enough for me to explain that I didn't want to accept the alternative parking that she offered as it was too far away and that we needed quick access to our car. I then had no alternative but to cancel the booking and find accommodation elsewhere. The hotel however, still charged me for the booking despite the fact that, I feel, the hotel was not fit for my purpose. I have subsequently spoken to Bookings.com, Eurostars customer service and the hotel management all to no avail. Not only will they not offer me any sort of refund THEY HAVE CHARGED FOR BREAKFAST as well. They would not even compromise and offer even a partial refund. Suffice it to say, I will not be staying at any Eurostars hotels again.||||Can't offer any opinion of the hotel itself as we didn't stay although it looked quite nice.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and it has always been a good place to stay. Good value, pleasant and helpful staff and a good breakfast. It also has secure underground parking which is great for me to be able to park my motorcycle securely. Recommended.
