Hotel Exquisit

A lovely hotel in a great location. Only improvement would be Aircon in the rooms.

To summarise in one phrase, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. The entire hotel makes an upscale impression somehow between modern-elegant and local-alpine style. Even the standard rooms are already at a comfortable size and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are modern and state of the art equipped. Guests have access to the spa area with pool and several saunas. All clean and and in perfect condition. We had the package including dinner. What to say ? They serve a 4-course set menu with desserts and cheese from the buffet. Presentation, taste, texture, all at a high level with the look and feel of Michelin’s star cuisine. Wine list not too extensive but with interesting selection. To mention the friendliness and competence of the staff. The breakfast offers the usual items for a house of this category. Perfect is the scenic view on the mountains. All in all a perfect stay. We are looking forward for a next visit, then perhaps in summer time.

The Hotel was fantastic and the staff are very professional. Very good food and wine and also a very good breakfast. They have bikes to take for free and e-bikes to take for a small fee. |The best bit of the hotel has to be the saunas... very clean and high end. It was an Extremely relaxing and beautiful week. I visited this hotel several years ago and had been waiting to go back ever since (see my other review of a description of the features). We finally got the chance this summer to go for a visit and I was as delighted as I had been on my first visit. The hotel has wonderful amenities but it is the warm welcome and customer service from the staff which impress. I completely disagree with the recent repeat customer who wrote on this forum that customer service standards had slipped as this is not the case. ||||||Some examples of outstanding customer service, this time around:||||I celebrated my birthday on the trip and all the staff made a point of wishing me happy birthday. I received a card and gift from the housekeeping staff on my bed and the dinner table was specially decorated for us on the day.||||||We took bikes belonging to the hotel on outings and each time the staff set up the bikes to the correct height and got us to test that we were comfortable. They also supplied us with helmets and fitted them. All for no extra charge.||||||The bar staff took great efforts to recommend drinks for us to try and gave me an impromptu cocktail making lesson.||||||The pool/spa area was checked and tidied every hour and all the equipment and towels beautifully restocked. I was able to request additional pool aids which the staff specially got for me. The boutique nature of the hotel meant that I was often able to enjoy 30mins of complete solitude in the pool area as if it was my own private facility. Bliss!||||We were able on occasion to borrow stationary items, walking poles etc all free of charge and delivered with a great willingness to assist.||||We were picked up and dropped off at the train station for no extra charge and assisted with our luggage with extraordinary good grace.||||Every staff member was dignified, gracious, genuine and friendly. They gave us maps and great tips on things to do in the area and asked after our day when we returned. When a passing tourist fell off his bike further down the street from the hotel, the staff all rushed out to assist even though the incident did not involve a hotel guest and actually had nothing to do with the hotel. We felt thoroughly spoilt the entire time and my companion (who was visiting for the first time) was extremely impressed with the food, facilities and staff.||||This is a wonderful hotel for a few days of relaxation and pampering and absolutely deserves its name and reputation. We found the price very reasonable for luxurious, comfortable accommodation with our own private balcony, three meals a day plus cake and spa snacks and the use of the spa/pool/bikes/hiking gear/local cable cars/railway transfers and access to such obliging staff in an exclusive surrounding. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!

Giving this hotel 5 stars was a no brainer. |When you arrive it seems certainly tastefully done with it's wonderful mix of traditional decor but in a modern way. However it's the details and friendly but authentic service which impress. |We had a 3/4 board meaning lunch is limited however after the great breakfast and 5 course evening meal it'll be just right (unless you're a teenager!). The evening meal is almost at Michelin star level with great wine recommendations at reasonable price. |We'll definitely visit here again.

Just returned from my third visit to Hotel Exquisit and am pleased to report that it was just as wonderful as ever. The package is well thought out and great value for money at this luxurious level but it is the little things which make Hotel Exquisit my favourite hotel in the world. ||||Examples:||Really high quality toiletries- the shampoos and body lotions are so good, I dont ever have to bring any of my own.||Multiple pillow choices for every sort of neck.||Huge amounts of storage in the room and bathroom so you can really unpack and settle in.||Pool staff that check that everything is tidy and all the towels are cleared away literally every 30-60 mins. ||Well spoken and friendly staff in all areas that greet you with genuine warmth and really want to be as helpful as possible.||A beautiful sense of calm and quiet throughout the building. We had a lot of kids there during our stay but the ambiance has a calming effect on them and the staff look after them so well (Kids buffet, creating space in the dining room to avoid high noise levels, games to play etc), we were never bothered at all. ||A General Manager who makes sure that he gets in there with his staff and helps with service at busy times and makes sure that he gets to know the guests. To my mind, the best sort of leadership.||||Although this is certainly a luxury experience, the package is so generous that we barely had to open our wallets additionally at all. Between the transfers to the station, the comfortable room, the beautiful mostly empty pool and spa area, the gym, the wonderful natural setting with walking trails and the lavish amounts of food three times a day, there is only the drinks left to cover. ||||We absolutely love coming here and look forward to our next visit.

A year ago we spent a week at the Exquisit and it was truly that. One year since we first stayed here we went back expecting a similar experience. Alas, the kind of service and guest care which set Hotel Exquisit apart, have all but disappeared. ||It is still a very good hotel. The building is as clean and well maintained as ever. Missing now are the touches which previously made it special. The main change is that the staff are no longer as customer focused as they were, the attention to detail and the absolute professionalism are gone.||Such a pity. I am sure several other hotels in Oberstdorf offer a welcome as good as what is now on offer at the Exquisit, but do it at a more reasonable rate. In our view, Hotel Exquisit is no longer worth the premium prices charged for pretty ordinary service.

We loved this place. Everyone was very accommodating, especially when i mangled their language. (They were patient with me) the breakfasts were ample, and we did take advantage of the full board dinners several times during out 7 day stay. The food was delicious, and the beds and rooms were comfortable and spotless. The pol was clean the the lawn sunning area was serene and lush.
