Hótel Eyjafjallajökull

We stayed here as part of a travel group. The Icelandic weather didn’t cooperate with our original plans and the hosts were able to accommodate our group for another evening with little notice. Luckily for us, the Northern Lights showed up that night to greet us! Our hosts were the kindest, most welcoming people and made our stay memorable! The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. I will stay here again on my next trip! And as an added plus, they shared with us their sweetest little dogs!

Excellent hospitality. Graciously welcomed our travelers back after weather warnings prohibited further pursuits to the east. Don’t forget to look up and see the beautiful handknit sweaters you definitely need. We were there in January and Aurora was putting on a show for us!

About the room I suggest you to verify the beds ( are not so good ) and the light over the bed (broken). But the worst things is about the restaurant. Quality really low about the food. I travelled for 11 days and this restaurant is the worst where I eat

Just returned from a couple of nights at this great hotel. |I went here as a college group and the staff were very friendly, bedrooms comfortable and they accommodated many dietary requests. |The location is great for discovering all the natural beauty and in the evenings we played games and sang karaoke in the main dining area. |We were in one of the main hotel rooms which are nice and warm and are a good size.

Stayed for a night in between Golden circle and South Coast. Check in is in the main building, where they give you your key code. You drive down to the dormitory buildings to find your room. The campus is huge- there’s camping grounds, golfing and dorms. My room was super smelly (room freshener) upon arrival so I opened all the windows- it aired out over time. Bathroom was clean and had lots of counter space- bring your own toiletries. Bed was fine, and there was a kettle for hot water. View was over the golf course, which was beautiful. Breakfast was varied with hot, cold, sweet and savory options. All served in the main building. You can walk there via a short paved path Room was tight and on a sunny evening I was really wishing for a picnic table, lounge chairs, or some other seating option outside the dorm buildings. Town (gas, groceries) is about a 10-12 minute ride away.

Room was small but well suited for our needs. The onsite restaurant was delicious. I recomend the Rainbow Trout with a tall Gull draft. Saw the northern lights our first night there! Beautiful views of Eyjafjallajokull glacier!

Suspicious red stains on floor and duvet. Doesn't look like they tried to remove the stains. Visible in multiple areas and rooms. Change of duvet found black stains very visible and quite large. Similar experience with a friend duvet black stains.

I really like this hotel. It is on a great location, clean, well maintained and good breakfast service. This all for a small price. I would recommend and will come back at a next visit to Iceland.
