"Here’s your source for a bit of that mid-century Nordic magic, along with a healthy dose of the Art Deco history that’s a Helsinki design trademark. As a part of the Kämp Collection family, Hotel Fabian is sister to Klaus K, Lilla Roberts, and the Hotel Kämp itself, and within its walls you’ll find, essentially, more of the same — which, in this case, is more of a good thing." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely people, lovely place, lovely location. Super quiet street but only a 5 minute walk to the old market hall and the harbour. Quiet room but not as big as it looked when booking. Basic tv but you can cast apps to screen. Great staff, breakfast good rather than great. Free tea and coffee.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Fabian! This beautiful boutique hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from all the main sights in the city. We stayed in a Lux room, which was tastefully decorated and incredibly cozy — it truly felt like a home away from home. The room included a small kitchen, which was very convenient for our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent — fresh, varied, and served in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're visiting Helsinki!

Beautiful room and well equipped for a few days exploring Helsinki. Great vibe and staff so very friendly. Breakfast you book a slot which im not a fan off, but space is limited so I can see why, the variety was just okay, was fresh and the porridge the best I have had.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic location, fantastic staff! Honestly, this was an amazing find. Even the little details were great too. As a family of 5, we’ve had interconnecting rooms in a fair number of hotels. This is the first one that’s coded all our key cards to open either room. Serious quality of life improvement. A wonderful few days spent here exploring Helsinki. Thank you.

Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Helsinki! Hotel Fabián is a gem in Helsinki! Its location is absolutely perfect – just a few minutes' walk from all the major sights and attractions. I loved how easy it was to explore the city from here. The included breakfast was a real highlight. It was very comprehensive with plenty of delicious options, including a great selection for vegetarians. The coffee was excellent too, a perfect start to the day! The service was top-notch. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful, always ready to assist with any request or question. This made a huge difference to my stay. My room was very comfortable and well-appointed, providing a relaxing space after a day of sightseeing. Considering the quality and location, the price was very reasonable and offered great value. If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient, and friendly place to stay in Helsinki with a fantastic breakfast, look no further!

This was my second, but not the last time at Hotel Fabian. The location is perfect - in walking distance from everywhere in the city center but at the same time very safe and quiet. There are also nice walking routs near by, f. ex. Kaivopuisto and beautiful Ullanlinna. The service at the hotel is always and in every situation first class. The hotel and the rooms are very clean and stylish. The breakfast is one of the best I have enjoyed in Finland ever. There are not too many options, but I'm sure everyone can find something to eat and drink. Especially I appreciate the quality, peaceful atmosphere and service, it feels like home made. In summer time you can have your breakfast at the terrace which is very nice.

The hotel is in a great location in relation to the rest of the city. However, the front of the hotel and where you must enter does not leave a favorable first impression. But rest assured that the rooms are great. Breakfast was ok though we would like to have seen some scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The one and only elevator broke down during our stay but luckily, they got it fixed, and we didn’t have to lug our luggage down 5 flights of stairs. I’m thinking based on the speed they put pre-printed signs on the elevator doors on each floor that this has happened before.

This hotel has an excellent location relative to the port and tourist area downtown. It is also feeling upscale with its boutique character and great neighbourhood.||However, I did not like a few things about the room: first, the bed was hard; second, it felt cold in the room and we were told that's normal in Finland and that there's limit to how warm we can make the room (we're Canadian, so we can tolerate cold conditions, but in a hotel room this should not be an issue). A heater was brought in, but it was tiny and inefficient. ||We upgraded to a Style room, which was worth it, given that the Comfort rooms are close to the kitchen area on the first floor (probably not bad either, but be aware). Nice breakfast (eg, including crepes), but egg choice limited. Overall, satisfied, but not thrilled.

Yelp
Tuo pahuksen lokki vei lihapiirakkani! - This translates to "That damned seagull took my meat pie!" and it was just one of the many useful Finish phrases I learned over my breakfast at the Fabian Hotel. (If you want to find out how to say "Where can I get a fur hat?" in Finnish, you may just have found a reason to stay here yourself! After having stayed at various other hotels in Helsinki, (various Glos, Klaus K), Hotel Fabian is my favorite so far: it's cozy and I felt right at home. The room was relatively big and had everything I wanted (even the tea kettle that Mathias H referred to as missing in his previous review). I even appreciated the blackout curtains, as the sun does set quite late in the Helsinki summer month and rises again awfully early (they really should do something about this ;-) The breakfast is included in the rate and while it doesn't contain hot items such as scrambled eggs, it is perfectly tasty and there's plenty of other things that gave me energy for the day. The staff at the hotel was friendly, but contained in the (typical) Finnish way. + free wifi + free breakfast

Yelp
My lovefest for Helsinki continues with prime accommodation & breakfast. Hotel Fabian was straight up perfect. I stay in a LOT of hotels. I know what I want and need, and Hotel Fabian ticked all the boxes. *Easy, professional check-in. No fuss. No waiting. Friendly and efficient service. A very nice welcome indeed! *A cozy lobby with plenty of seating & an espresso bar at reception. Nicely made coffee drinks, sofas, chairs and nice lighting to take a meeting, chat with a friend or wait for a taxi near the large paned windows looking into the street. *A clean, well-appointed, stylish and comfortable room. With a sofa! Spacious and so luxurious in its cleanliness and attention to detail. White and black decor that still managed to feel warm and inviting. *Easy, fast, reliable internet. OMG, YES. Travel Worker Bee's dream. *A nice, hot, rain shower. Pleasant smelling bath products. A hair dryer. A large sink. *Reception staff competency. They received important documents for me via UPS, called me a taxi (flat fee 40 euro to the airport, good deal) expeditiously and stored my baggage easily for the day while I finished my stay in Helsinki. They do hospitality in Finland VERY well. *A gorgeous breakfast with meats, cheeses, salmon, cereals, juices, coffee (in Finland they drink filter coffee on the regular - rejoice!), fruits, etc, etc. Their organic hard boiled eggs are a delight and the breakfast area is stylish, comfortable and inviting. I looked forward to my meals there...its included for every guest I believe. *Location - within walking distance to all of the city centre Helsinki attractions, including a very short walk to the harbor. There is also a large supermarket just one street away should you need supplies and a wine shop next door. See what I mean, I should've never left...? It is not often that I arrive at a hotel and think "I wish I could stay here longer!" but this is exactly what ran through my mind from the moment I stepped into my room until I departed. I didn't have one misstep the whole time, quite the contrary I was impressed at every turn with this boutique hotel. 5 stars, easy. I won't even need to think about staying anywhere else on my (surely) return visits to Helsinki!

Yelp
Is it possible to love a hotel as a person? Yes? Then I would like to profess my love for Fabian. The cute room, spacious shower, courteous and cute staff, and the scrumptious breakfast all made me fall in love. The location is excellent, being close to the main shopping area on Pohjosesplanadi and Etelaesplanadi. Walk over to the main Stockmann store and the famous Karl Fazer bakery from here. Service at Fabian Hotel is stellar. The staff gave us umbrellas as we were about the leave the hotel (because the forecast called for rain), arranged an early breakfast to-go for us because we were leaving the hotel at 6AM, made restaurant recommendations, and made sure our stay was pleasant. Very professional and knowledgeable. Taxi service from the hotel is reasonably priced at a flat rate of 50 Euros for the airport. A very good deal if you have luggage and do not want to drag suitcases to the train station.

Yelp
Welcome, my American yelp friend! It's good to see English! You are an American, trapped in Finland in the most pleasurable way, and you are happy to see a review written in English, oh happy day! You are looking out to the seaport in Helsinki, you are wondering why this place reminds you of Reykjavik. Yes, book the Fabien Hotel, it's great. You'll like the cleanliness, like the clean smells, and the details to all the little attentions, not to mention the "free" breakfast spread which is like a glorious Scandinavian breakfast feast w just enough selections, but not overwhelmingly too overwhelming like a roadside American buffet. You will find a whimsically charming paper placement that teaches you how to say things in Finnish like..."Can I have some more deer meat please?" Or, "Please take me to the more expensive store; this place is not expensive enough for my wallet." Or, "That damned seagull took my mince pie." And my favorite...wait for it..."Madame, the fur looks fetching with your hairpiece!" I am proud to announce that I can say all of these things in Finnish...though in practice with the locals, I got punched a few times (by the Madame and the seagulls). But hey if you thought Finland was messed up, try Iraq.

Yelp
The Fabian Hotel is a very nice boutique style hotel in Helsinki. It is located about a 10 minute walk away from the central station but still in a very central area close to shopping and good restaurants. I arrived in the evening and check-in was very quick. Friendly staff quickly made sure I was given my room. I had the room booked by my company so had the standard room (if I had booked myself I might have selected a larger room) but I was surprised that it was still a fairly big room. I like the decor in the room and most things appeared to be done with some thought behind it. A lot of things were very good; the mini-bar was good (not too expensive either), quick and free Wi-Fi, nice TV with a lot of free channels and very good iron and ironing board (many hotels put low quality irons in the room). The bathroom was also very big and the products provided were of high quality (and the floor heating was very nice as well as the speakers in the bathroom). I also must say that the bed was among the most comfortable I slept in. There is also a safe in the room and the desk was decent (a bit difficult to work at since it was very narrow). There were however a few things that prevents me for giving it a top rating. I was missing a water kettle and tea and coffee in the room. I know that many hotels than just say that it is possible to walk down and ask for it at the front desk but that is still not as good as having it in the room. The hotel also lacks a fitness center which is a real drawback and it may actually result in me selecting another hotel next time in Helsinki. I am not a fan of shower curtains but there should have been something (perhaps sliding glass doors or something like it) to prevent water from spreading in the rest of the bathroom. The breakfast was in some ways very good - it did have very fresh products and generally high quality (finally a hotel with some proper apple and orange juice). The draw back of the breakfast was the lack of hot food. There is porridge but no fried or scrambled eggs and bacon. For me it is just not a proper breakfast without that and the minimum level for a hotel breakfast is to at least offer scrambled eggs with bacon and some sausages. I would however still recommend Fabian Hotel due to the good location, very nice rooms and friendly staff.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights and everything about our stay was lovely. The staff was friendly and super helpful. We stayed in a luxe room with a balcony that overlooked the courtyard and it was perfect - clean, cozy, cute, and sunny. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Helsinki.

Yelp
I find prices in Helsinki to match other metropolitan cities, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a very good hotel for a relatively reasonable price. The room rate with breakfast and wifi was fine with me! As others have mentioned, the breakfast is lovely. The limited hot food and no bacon and sausages is fine with me. The freshly made pot of hot coffee sitting on the counter is the perfect start to my day. My room was a good size with a small balcony and I loved being able to open the door for fresh air. The staff was always helpful. The location is terrific. It is possible to walk to most every sight, though you also can take the bus if necessary. There are great restaurants close by including at its sister property Hotel Lilla Roberts which is about 2 blocks away. It is all in all a comfortable place to stay.

Yelp
Freaking adorable and great. Such great rooms, umbrellas for the rain, awesome design. I would live in this hotel! Front desk people always so nice, answer all my questions in the middle of the night! (Jet lag haha). Easy walk to Market Square, ferry to Suommelina, and Aleksanterinkatu.

Yelp
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Room was spacey and nice, the location is convenient.

Yelp
Excellent location to walk in Helsinki. Beautiful looking rooms, although some of them are a bit small, depending on where you end up. The patio area is simple but very pleasant, and you can take a bike to travel around the city for free while. The breakfast is amazing, eat it every day you stay if at all possible. The staff is very friendly and fluent in English. The downside, like everything in Helsinki, it's very expensive per night. Also, if you happen to stay when it's hot in Helsinki, which is rare, but if so be prepared for truly awful air conditioning. And, as stated before, some rooms are tiny, although even the tiny rooms have very nice bathrooms. I would stay again (when it isn't August).
