Fasano Salvador (Salvador, Bahia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Fasano hotels and restaurants are a big deal in Brazil; no less significant a figure than singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso performed at the opening of this one, the eighth Fasano-branded luxury hotel in Brazil. Fasano Salvador occupies a building of some gravity as well, a 1930s Art Deco landmark that was once the headquarters of the city’s daily newspaper, and which stands on Castro Alves Square, in the UNESCO-listed historic city center, with an elevated view back towards the Bay of All Saints." - Tablet Hotels

We arrived at the hotel for a short visit. From the entrance, you can be impressed by the beauty of the hotel, the design, Everything was just perfect, the room was exceptionally organized, and the most beautiful part was the pool on the roof of the hotel with a view of the sea and the charming city. What I can say is that we will definitely be back to visit.

An explosion displaced all guests at a nearby hotel. Fasano assured us they could accommodate us for the night and had us wait in the lobby for our room to be prepared. Me and my wife waited while other white guests who came after us were accommodated and given rooms despite us being there before them. We were then told there was no room available for us despite already being promised one. The pregnant receptionist offered no apology or empathy. I had to carry my bags to another hotel at 11pm and fend for myself. To make matters worse this is my honeymoon. Stay away from Fasano if you are black. They are racist . The service in the restaurant was also very long I waited an hour for my food and drinks despite very few guests being at the restaurant. I would never recommend this location to anyone. If you don’t pass the paper bag test don’t bother Fasaon is not for blacks

That was our third visit and the best one, the hotel location is amazing as it is just in the heart of the city, the building is historic with modern finishes but the highlight is the service and the food (will write another review for Gero) the staff (special Matheus/concierge and Gerrard/pool) they do their best to make sure you have all you want, even for demanding guests like me. We definitely will go back!

Terrible experience we were assigned a room on the 2nd floor we opened the window and saw only a view of a wall, no water or city view, ruined the experience the hotel was not at all busy (3 days after Carnival ended), the hotel sits on a hill apparently overlooking a beautiful bay, if you go ask for a water view on a higher floor

This hotel really lives up to its excellent reputation. The clowns from the last hotel I reviewed in Brasilia should send their miserable unhelpful staff here to see what proper top rate customer service looks like. Staff brilliant from beginning to end. ||Rooms were exquisite and very spacious. Air conditioning was superb. Staff unpacked for me and folded everything nearly. Anything left out daily was also tidied away carefully and efficiently. Unlike many hotels you receive plenty of free water. There is a free travel adapter to use in every room and complimentary flip flops robes slippers etc. ||Food was good and gym was modern and well appointed. Pool was very modern and the guys at the pool bar were happy and helpful. ||Reception always happy to help. I’m struggling to balance this with a gripe but there are two very shall ones. No shaving kit in the room. Probably could get one if you asked but would be nice to have that. Also a few occasions when we were slightly later to breakfast the breakfast staff start tidying bits from your table whilst you are still eating! Unnecessary!||All in all superb.

I have been a client of Fasano Hotel and Gero restaurants since they opened in São Paulo 20 years ago and it is really great to return with the family after a long time and see the same level of design, food quality and service The breakfast at this hotel is excellent, the rooftop pool wonderful. And I would like to make a special mention of the manager of this evening of the Gero restaurant ESAEL who showed incredible class and care dealing with a small issue we had. He compensated in so many different ways - it is a sign of a truly excellent manager when he knows how to make a guest very happy despite a bad start. Really appreciated his work! We will return and you should definitely stay at Fasano Salvador (or Rio or SP) if you can - consistent quality is hard to come by and they have it

The Fasano is probably the best hotel in Salvador. Small Brazilian chain. Perfect antidote to large US hotel chains in particular. Decent size without feeling huge. Has a boutique hotel vibe. The room was large and well decorated. Wonderful renovated original wooden parquet floors in the hallways and rooms. Everything in the room was in good working order. The hotel is located in the old headquarters building of a local newspaper. On a hill above the port and lower town. Wonderful views of the Bay of All Saints. Walking distance to the Pelourinho district (although you probably shouldn't walk there or back at night). Easy taxi or Uber ride to some of the better restaurants in Salvador. Service was attentive and friendly, without being intrusive. Very nice breakfast buffet in the morning in the main restaurant on the ground floor. There is a wonderful bar and pool on the roof, with great views of the city and the bay. Decent gym on the top floor as well, which I used one of the mornings we were there. Overall, an excellent stay.
