Had a great time in Montreal, Hotel Faubourg was part of the reason. Location is great for Chinatown + many Montreal attractions, with easy access to public transportation. bus+ metro. Grocery IGA 2 blocks away. The extra spacious rooms clean + comfortable, with kitchenette felt homey. Breakfast buffet nice way to begin your day. Staff very nice. Coin laundry on site a plus. To be honest place is showing some wear, check-in given wrong room-quickly corrected by desk, rooms are dark could use extra lamps, or brighter bulbs. not all washers + dryers working during my stay. However, I would stay here again. Clean, Comfortable, good price.

I have to acknowledge one particular front desk clerk, Rasheeda, for her exceptional service during our stay! She was attentive, approachable, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her friendly conversation and genuine interest in how our Family trip was going made us feel truly welcomed — a great example of outstanding guest service. The hotel was super clean, breakfast was a bonus and it’s walking distance to so many restaurants, stores and attractions!! We loved it! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to return!

My overall experience at this hotel was quite satisfactory, and I would consider staying here again in the future. While the building itself is a bit old, the many advantages more than make up for it. The staff provided good customer service throughout my stay and were especially accommodating — even keeping my luggage safe after check-out, which was greatly appreciated. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite that was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink — perfect for a comfortable and convenient stay. The breakfast was acceptable, though the variety could be improved for added appeal. The price was reasonable, offering good value for what you get. Most importantly, the location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of downtown, with very easy access to major attractions, shopping malls, and restaurants. Overall, a solid choice for anyone looking for convenience, comfort, and value.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Absolutely amazing experience. The location of the hotel is great for any visitor who wants to explore Montreal as most places are walking distance from the hotel. Because of the construction they upgraded our room which we really appreciated. The breakfast is great with decent choices of items and had been replenished frequently. All the staffs at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly and have to mention name of one lady Rashida or Rishida( pardon if i spell incorrectly) was genuinely helpful and offering all the supports. They also have 24 hr tea and coffee lounge access with decent varities. Overall amazing experience. excellent customer service. Definitely recommended as value for money option. Would definitely come back if we come to Montreal again.

I stayed in the Faubourg with my husband and our toddler for four nights while my husband attended a nearby conference and my daughter and I explored Montreal. The location is convenient for both downtown and the old town and the area felt safe with lots of amenities nearby. ||||We booked a one bedroom suite with kitchenette in order to have enough space for our child and be able to prepare her food. ||||The room was comfortable, if a little old and tired. Some of the power sockets definitely needed replacing and some of the furniture was really beaten up. On the surface, everything was pretty clean but we had to move some furniture to fit our daughter’s crib and that revealed a lot of dirt and dust in hidden areas.||||The staff were mixed - some were really helpful but others were a little brisk.||||The buffet breakfast wasn't spectacular but it was absolutely fine and we appreciated it as a free extra. The laundry facilities were great - the machines were really new and worked quickly.||||However, the main reason for our not great rating is the kitchenette. When we first walked in, we thought it would be perfect - a full size fridge freezer, a dishwasher, a Keurig coffee machine, a microwave and lots of drawers and cupboards which we assumed would have everything we needed to make simple meals. ||||Unfortunately the cupboards were completely empty. There was a sign saying we could request kitchenware, but when we did we were just given a couple of sets of paper plates and cups and wooden disposable cutlery. I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried to safely cut grapes for a toddler using a flimsy disposable butter knife, but it isn’t easy!||||Not having access to proper kitchen equipment really negatively impacted our stay and made it hard to prepare even the most basic meals and snacks. There is a dishwasher in the room so this clearly hasn’t always been the case. I’d really urge the Faubourg to rethink this policy as it’s the main reason we would be reluctant to return.

Great location and excellent hygiene. The complimentary breakfast does provide a varied selection, and really appreciate that tea/hot chocolate is served at all hours. Its also great that the hotel is pet-friendly. They could really improve by providing three-bed suites since their sofa beds are awful. The location is close to pretty much everything. Would come back again if they can improve the bed addition.

Google
One of the most foul smelling hotel rooms I have ever been in. The stench was unbearable. Black mold in the bathroom. Super stained carpets and walls. Again the stench was unbearable. Greeted by a tone of dust when trying to access the plug behind the bed. Also breakfast was not great. Mystery meet sausage, unmixed juice and toasters that took almost a decade to toast….

Google
Stayed here for 3 nights. For the price it was a good stay. Overall clean but the carpets are a little worn and stained and could do with replacing. The breakfast was great, definitely a nice addition to the stay. Anything we needed the front desk was always happy and quick to assist. The kitchenette doesn't come stocked with plates or cutlery so if you need any just call down to the front desk and they'll bring them right up for you. Would definitely recommend this hotel for future trips!

Yelp
This hotel is centrally located to the main attractions. The IGA supermarket was an 8 min walk, a Tim Hortons was an 8 min walk, the Christmas market was a 15 min, and old Montreal and the old port were less than 15 mins walking distance. You can't beat the price and the location. We were first staying on the 7th floor. We had some issues with loud guests across from our room and security came and told them something. The noise was still going until midnight and we emailed the hotel. The next morning Roberto called me and apologized multiple times for the inconvenience and switched our rooms to the 8th floor. Our room had a balcony and we had a nice view of the city. The Rooms are studio style. We had a kitchen and living room area. The room was spacious and enough for two-three people to stay and not feel crowded. The only reason I am not giving this stay 5 stars is because the bathroom could use some remodeling. The shower head was rusty and the shower floor had a light stain. The hotel offers free continental breakfast. There was yogurt, bagels, eggs, hash browns, orange and apple juice, and other options. I tried the yogurt, bagel, and hash brown. Compared to other continental breakfasts I have had, this one was good and fresh. I was impressed by how well management handled our concern. The staff was friendly and the breakfast offered was good. If you can overlook the outdated bathroom, this is a perfect hotel to stay in the Montrèal area.

Yelp
Good: Comfy bed Clean shower air conditioning Quiet Breakfast Coffee, microwave, and fridge in the room Nice toiletries Cute courtyard Great location WiFi works Plenty of space Bad: Not clean (found a pile of hair clippings on the windowsill, of all places!?) (big thumbs down) Those horrible low-quality, scratchy towels some hotels have. Can't they use a fabric softener maybe?? Very dark (kinda depressing) Some of the amenities don't line up with what was advertised, i.e. the website says they exist, but they do not :( Front desk wasn't very helpful :(

Yelp
First: very convenient location. Right next to a stop for the 747 bus to/from the airport and a 5-10 minute walk away from 2 Metro lines. The hot spots are within walking distance (Old Port included) and plenty of food options around. The hotel itself was good. It is a bit funky because it was designed to be condos/studio apartments so the room is huge for a hotel. Could only use one elevator bank so it was a bit of walk from our room on the other side of the building. But no issues with the room, clean and well kept. The breakfast was plentiful with many options. For the price we got in December, it was a great value.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Montreal and we stayed at the Hotel Faubourg Montreal for a week in July. It was great. There is a parking garage in the hotel and I would suggest pulling up and checking in first. They'll explain how to get to the parking garage (it's around the block and the entrance is on a one way side street). The absolute best part about this hotel is the location. After we parked in the garage we never used our car again until the day we left. We walked or took the subway everywhere including Little Italy (Jean Talon Market), the Botanical Gardens, Olympic Stadium/Biodome, the Biosphere etc. Easy walks from the hotel are Chinatown, Old Montreal, Notre Dame and Downtown Montreal as well as many pubs and restaurants in either direction. There is also a nice, huge grocery store (IGA) that is a 6 minute walk from the hotel, on the same street. There are smaller convenience stores closer. Our room was nice and larger than we expected. Carpet is a bit worn, but overall it was very nice. Lots of room for the 4 of us and it was nice having the kitchenette with counter space and bar stools. Felt like our own little apartment for the week. There are no plates or silverware so make sure you ask the front desk for them. They'll give you paper/plastic products but that's really no big deal as there is no stove, only a microwave and fridge (and we used both!). There is a Keurig coffee maker, ironing board/iron and I think I saw a blow dryer as well (although I don't have enough hair to need one). Beds were comfortable and the TV worked great (I hate HDTVs in hotels that look like $&#!!). Lighting was a little dim in the room but no big deal. We meant to ask for another lamp but then forgot about it. The continental breakfast was fine, but nothing special. You can surely find something to fill up in the morning (even if it's just coffee and a banana). I tried everything and it varied slightly each morning. There were always baked beans! Is that a thing in Montreal... baked beans for breakfast? The breakfast room does get very crowded unless you get there early (early meaning 7AM). I did find an "overflow" room down the hall from the breakfast room so that was helpful cause most people didn't know about it so it wasn't crowded at all. The Wi-Fi worked fine on my laptop but on my iPhone I had to constantly check to make sure I was still signed in. There is a self service laundry room and fitness center in the hotel but we never used them. Staff was very nice and everyone spoke English, in case you were wondering. They were all very helpful. Glad we stayed here!

Yelp
This hotel is in a great location with the old port within walking distance, and the kitchenette is a better deal, if you're a traveler but not a foodie, because for breakfast they do a really good breakfast, you should be full until lunch and a market (IGA) within walking distance non-foodies can eat cheap

Yelp
Balcony suite was nice, it was good for 4 and has a pull up sofa. It has a mini kitchen and the balcony of course is not that spacious but enough to enjoy the view outside. Bathroom is spacious. Breakfast area is too small for the number of rooms they have. There is no waiting area. There is a computer you could use for a fee. Parking lot is two levels that is shared with the other hotel. They dont have room service for meals. But you could borrow plate and cutlery on the reception area. $27 plus tax for parking fee. If not for the tight lobby and breakfast area then it would be a 5.

Yelp
This was a very bad experience. I checked in and immediately reception gave me the keys to the wrong room and the wrote down the incorrect room number. This was followed by again getting the wrong keys and having to again go up and down the elevator with all of my bags. Finally, I asked for someone to come up and test the 3rd set of keys before I carried all my bags up a 3rd time. Hey refused and instead made me go up with the maintenance person to try the door again. Again, the now 5u key did not work. Luckily the 6th key worked for entering the first time. But sure enough, when I returned from dinner, again the key didn't work and again I had to get 2 more keys. Again, only 1 worked. I feel like I spent so much wasted time on my trip to Montréal, feeling with key issues. I overheard others having the same issues. There were other problems but the key issue is enough for me to not be willing to recommend the Hotel Fauborg.

Yelp
I wish there was a zero star rating. to their Credit the rooms are great. BUT as far as staff - I dealt with 2 different shift managers. both were extremely rude, disrespectful , accusatory & non- helpful- yelling @ customer? really? if you're a masochist in need of extreme humiliation & verbal abuse

Yelp
It's not a glamorous place, but for a casual but clean hotel with kind staff (in the hall, at breakfast, at the front desk of course), it was great! With free breakfast, and proximity to the sites (a ten minute walk to Vieux Montréal; fifteen minutes to McGill/the McCord), it had all we needed. The kitchenette was perfect for our morning coffee, and the gym was clean. The free buffet had rotating eggs and and meats each morning, plus cereal, toast, and Montreal bagels. No, it wasn't crêpes, mimosas, and espresso, at least not on our days, but was pretty substantial for a free buffet. The hotel, helpful as can be, even posts a breakfast traffic forecast. Other reviews mentioned cigarette burns in the carpet and old AC units. Maybe they are quietly renovating--I too saw a couple cigarette burns, but thankfully didn't smell the cigarettes. The heat system seemed up to date (and our room was cooking!). The kitchenette had particle cabinets, but cleanliness was there. That, and we didn't know what to do with all the storage space! Despite being a casual place, a comfy bed and duvet set are non-negotiable. You need to be able to sleep like five stars, and our comfy bed had the right pillows, duvet, and was exquisite! The garage is a little tight, but was on-site. In all, Hôtel Faubourg was perfect for what we needed. Not a five star place, but had all the amenities we hoped, and more, and was comfy enough that we'd come back.

Yelp
Booked this hotel for the Montreal marathon. Location is great and close to old Montreal and Chinatown. Start line was right opposite the hotel and finish line one block away. Rooms were quite big and spacious. There were 2 queen beds along with separate room with couch. Beds were pretty comfortable. There was also a mini kitchen. Got a good deal through Hotwire. Breakfast was alright and was included. Parking costs 27$ with taxes and entrance is on the right side of the building. There are other cheaper parking options nearby as well including street parking if you can figure out the signs. We parked at the complex's desjardins mall on the day of the race so that we could get out (cost 24$). Overall good experience at the hotel. Bathroom could be better, shower wasn't working that great and there was no soap bar.

Yelp
Got this hotel online, and I think it is great for the price (about $60 plus tax) It's a spacious suite, with a full sized kitchen (though nothing for you to cook or eat with.) Staff is very nice, greet us with "bonjour!" whenever we pass by. Love the fact that there's free breakfast. It includes juice, tea, coffee, hot entrees such as eggs and breakfast meat, bread, cereal, yogurt and fruit. Of course you can always walk outside and get better quality food, but it's a nice option. The best thing about this hotel is its location, conveniently located between two metro stations, Saint Laurent and Champs de Mars. If you use the metro, it's great to have easy access to both the green and orange lines, saves time from switching lines. We didn't realize how close this hotel is to Chinatown, but it's like two blocks away. Honestly, back in Hong Kong it's a longer walk from home to get my bowl of noodles!! If you drive, underground garage entrance is on the Avenue de L'Hotel-de-Ville. Once parked, take the elevator up to the lobby. They do charge for parking, around $15 per night.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on our trip to Montreal to celebrate our wedding anniversary on a holiday weekend. The room was clean and very spacious with a kitchenette, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and I was excited to see a keurig and k-cups provided. Breakfast was included and had variety. My only complaint is that the lobby is a little small for how many rooms the hotel has and it got crowded at times. The lobby offers two desk top computers with internet access and a luggage weight machine. We had some unfortunate experiences during our stay with regards to our transportation. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Roberto made several calls to local garages and towing companies to assist us. He even called his personal mechanic to have them come out and repair our vehicle. Roberto was genuinely concerned for us and offered many accommodations including extending our check out time and extended our parking. If we ever visit Montreal again we will only stay at Hotel Faubourg!

Aidan C.

Yelp
Went in with many kids. They had a rule no more than 5 to a room and no children in a room on their own. Kicked us out and very unhelpful. Facilities looked poor. No complimentary breakfast. Don't come here.

Yelp
Excellent hotel conveniently located near the Saint Laurent Metro Station, Chinatown and the Old City. It was my first time at the Hotel Faubourg and I was given a free upgrade upon signing in which included a separate bedroom, living room, small balcony, two tv's, small kitchenette, micro wave, stove top and full size refrigerator. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and house keeping did a very nice job during my two day stay. This was the best value and one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in Montreal only $60/night incl. taxes and included a hot breakfast each morning. Indoor parking was $18CAD/dy. or $27 US for 48 hrs nearby, try getting that in Boston or NYC.The CAD vs US dollar exchange rate is the best I've seen in years so this stay was an exceptional value and the Hotel Faubourg is truly a gem.

Camille L.

Yelp
The location can't be any better, perfectly located right in the middle of everything. The staffs as very polite and professional they will make you feel welcomed the moment you walked in.

Jason M.

Yelp
The asshole manager refused to give me a refund, despite being fully booked and changing my mind within 30 minutes. Look at the real ratings of this hotel on Google, it's dirty and disgusting. Filthy sheets and towels.
google avatar

Meridith G.

Yelp
We will NEVER stay here again! The room was very dirty, with woman's hair everywhere. There were blood stains on the sheets. The room was old and dated. The bathroom cabinets were falling apart. Looks like it used to be an apartment. The hotel was dark and creepy, like a place where drug deals would happen. We travel with a WiFi hotspot so we can secure our data and we couldn't connect it. The front desk said it was again their policy to allow us to connect. Very rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend staying here even at a good price.

Yelp
I have to say this is a good place to stay in Montreal. If you read some of the reviews onTripAdvisor , you're apt to think it's a helhole--Not.It's reasonably priced. It has a garage down in the basement. The rooms are huge and have refrigerators and microwaves. It's comfortable. It's convenient. You are near several subway stops. You are next to Chinatown which means you are a short walk from Old Montreal. An IGA supermarket is right up the street in Desjardins on Rene Levesque. You are near St Denis and St Laurent and the stores and restaurants on those streets,St Catherine is around the block-- which granted is a little shaky in this area.Breakfast is included and isn't bad. It's well priced.I'd go back.

Yelp
The hotel is well located near old Montreal, and lots of restaurants. The staff were friendly, accommodating and had no issues speaking English instead of French to us. Breakfast was included in our price, and it was probably the best continental breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. (Unfortunately, I stay in lots of hotels for work). Check in was easy and painless. With a complimentary upgrade to a king suite. Now for the reasons it's a 3 star rating as opposed to a 4 or 5 star. First.... There is no street parking, so I had to park illegally while my girlfriend went inside to ask about both parking and registration. We were directed around to a side street entrance to a parking garage entrance. Once in, parking was easy enough, with in/out privileges. Second... the decor of our room was dated. It wasn't dirty, or unclean, just could have used a fresh coat of paint. Third.., the in room air conditioning was very loud, enough that it was impossible to sleep with it on. That all said, I'd certainly stay there again.
google avatar

Maria K.

Yelp
The room was not very clean and noisy ac. The location was great. We had to check out a day early and since we had booked with Expedia one of the staff said that we had to contact Expedia to receive a refund for the last night. I contacted Expedia and they had a hard time finding someone at the hotel to help them with this. They finally did and the Hotel said no they would not do a refund.Terrible customer service . I was very disappointed with this hotel. You would think that they would work with Expedia and take care of their customers.

Yelp
It's clean, friendly, and very nicely located. The free breakfast is surprisingly bountiful and varied, which was nice. The wifi is so slow as to be unusable. A shame, but I suppose you're not in Montreal to surf the web. The gym is fine for those looking for a quick workout although having a water fountain in there would be nice. Overall a great value and a nice place to stay.

Poetic G.

Yelp
If I could give this place no stars, I would. The hotel was dirty with holes in the closet walls, and holes under the kitchen cabinets. I stayed here with my co-worker in a two room suite and will never stay here ever again. The rooms are dark, creepy, worn down, and the phones don't work. The staff is rude, disrespectful, and will ignore you every chance they get; unless you speak French. We stayed there for 4 nights, and they refused to change the sheets after we told them on two occasions. They just made the beds with the same sheets. The floors wasn't swept or vacuumed when we arrived in our room. We even ask the front desk if they could send up someone to do it, they agreed; but no one ever came. The only good thing about this hotel, is it's in a good location.

Yelp
A friend booked us here for a weekend. Not somewhere we would normally stay. The location is convenient, the rooms are cheap, they have parking. Staff is friendly. Kitchenette in rooms have literally nothing in the cabinets. The pull out couch we slept on was one of the worst. The carpets are stained, as are the couch cushions. The phone was dead when we arrived but they fixed it immediately. The free breakfast has a lot, but it was.... Meh. The place needs some tlc but if you are looking for a cheap and conveniently located place in Montreal this is it.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Dated rooms and not very clean. Spacious rooms and good location. People at the front desk are friendly and we're quick to respond to any concern I had.
