We have spent 5 weeks so far in Europe and this hotel offered friendly service, helpful and accomodating. The breakfast is a must, everything was so great and the PANCAKES a must. The mature lady who looked after the breakfast was so delightful and really made you feel welcome in the morning. The rooms were spacious and warm and clean. Pillows are interesting. A must for location as well.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The receptionist was incredibly friendly and enthusiastically gave advice about spending time in Amsterdam. My room was on the basement level and I could hear a little noise from children playing on the play structure outside, but late at night this was not an issue. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a fan in the room, which did a great job keeping the room cool. The breakfast was very good: the staff recommended the pancakes, and they were delicious. I only stayed in this hotel one night, but I wish my stay was longer because I enjoyed this hotel so much!

We have nothing but positive thoughts about our 2 night stay at Hotel Fita. We had a superior double room (Room Number 34), and it was very spacious with a large toilet/shower area. The air conditioning worked well, wifi was good, bed was comfortable, all the other things you want. The breakfast was very good: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, all the standard pastry and bread offerings, fruits, etc. one of the best feature is that it is literally 2 minutes to tram #2 and 12. We looked at many hotels in the historic center, and many didn’t have an elevator or AC, and if that is a concern, Hotel Fita has both. Our room bordered the children playground, and it never disturbed us.

The best hotel I have ever stayed at. The breakfast was incredible, all staff were lovely and very helpful, and the trust bar with board games and books as well as drinks and snacks is a lovely idea! The room itself was lovely and we were lucky enough to get a little patio to ourselves which was so special. The hotel is perfectly located near all the museums and is only a short tram journey into the centre of Amsterdam, but is in a very peaceful neighbourhood. The perfect stay, thank you so much!

Not the best for people with physical disabilities. It has an elevator but it’s very slow and only large enough for two people, or one person with a suitcase. Stairs are steep and narrow. The doorless shower resulted in a slippery bathroom floor, and the lack of grab bars created a slip and fall hazard. However, the room was clean and bright. Basic but comfortable. Don’t expect staff to be around to offer advice to visitors. You may have to ring a buzzer to find someone. The self-serve breakfast was excellent. The hotel’s location is desirable because of proximity to Amsterdam’s famous museums. The neighborhood feels safe and is reasonably quiet.

Loved the location. It is in the museum district and the main trams are right behind the hotel. Excellent. The staff are helpful, very friendly and speak excellent English. There is laundry service provided if needed too. The breakfast is plentiful.|The hotel does have a small elevator but it is cranky. Suggest you book the main floor rooms if you don’t want to climb steep stairs. We rented a Superior room (#22) for the extra space and it is well worth it. |We booked the 3 day Amsterdam tourist card. It is expensive but worth it for convenience. Thoroughly enjoyed both of the canal trips included plus the MOCO and Rijksmuseum.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is in a cute and quiet neighborhood, yet a few minutes walk from multiple museums, parks, and public transit stops. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable! Definitely would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Fita for the past several days, and we have nothing but positive things to say. First, the location is within easy walking distance to the major art museums. There is a bus and tram stop very nearby that provides easy access to the airport and the city. Our room was small but very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. It is the staff that really makes this small hotel stand out, though, and a special thank you to Alexandra for her thoughtfulness. We would gladly stay there again.

Yelp
Beautiful, quant, well kept hotel. Room was pleasant with a balcony and windows that opened. Surrounding streets seemed pretty quiet at night. Nice breakfast downstairs. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I'd definitely return.

Yelp
Great place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. Room and hotel was clean, breakfast was great nice buffet options with some hot food in addition to continental breakfast fare. Wonderfully close to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, very walkable with tram stop on the corner. Be aware there are a few stairs a bit steep at front of hotel and stairs inside. There is an elevator but very small, 1 or 2 people squeeze. Might have to send luggage up and down without you. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Quite simply, a great hotel near the museum district. Kees, the host, is one of the warmest, most charming, & professional innkeepers I've ever met. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included, and is quite good. A pleasure to stay here, and we hope to again when we next visit the city of diamonds.

Yelp
When your initial plan to go to Amsterdam didn't work out well and you lost a day of your vacation but you still want to be grateful for the opportunity so you count your blessings. This hotel I count as one. Warm welcoming and accommodating staff. Breakfast is phenomenal with Dutch pancakes served warm and fresh. Very wonderful parents of owner helps with managing hotel adds a comforting touch, offers free directions and recommendations as well. Always had a bad back and picky with beds but I slept with no problem. Room is homey and huge for us 3. Shower is big with tons of warm water. I super love this hotel. Totally recommend!

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, great location adjacent to the 3 major art museums and a short walk to the canal rings. Also near tram lines #2 and #5 as well as sorted trams on Van Baerlestraat. Delicious breakfast included, consisting of cheeses, assorted breads and pastries, the best yogurt of my life (with all the accompaniments...granola, fruit nuts etc.), fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon (did not try it but it looked and smelled delicious). Roel's magnificent crepe/pancake made to order, juices, and excellent coffee. GREAT shower pressure in solo room #38 on the second floor...just a nice quiet room with an espresso maker as well! Samsung flat screen TV for your watching pleasure. Free WiFi in all rooms. From Schiphol airport, take bus #197...get off at Hobbemastraat next to the Rijksmuseum, walk straight ahead to Jan Luijkenstraat, make a left and walk 3 minutes to the address.

Yelp
EXCELLENT hotel with superior service--and great location! Excellent location and transportation from central station and sights to hotel--plus, if you want to see the Rijks/Van Gogh/and Stedelijk museums you are about a little over a couple blocks away which was a real plus for me. The staff from the owner on down is kind and caring and totally accomodating to each person, and they definitely put in the extras should you need it. I cannot say more about their customer service than it is superior. The other thing is I was there in Fall when it was chilly, and the room allows you to control the heat--and I saw fans and a/c for Summer visitors there. Lastly, the bed was sooo comfy it wasn't funny. Of all the countries I have been in, I think their bed was the most comfortable of all--a huge plus for tired people. I stayed there for 11 nights in this super quiet facility, and was so very happy that I have urged all friends to contact me for their name should they be going to Amsterdam. This hotel is a gem--and every hotel could take a lesson from the Fita staff.

Yelp
GEM in Amsterdam! Roel and team were the best! Very responsive to email questions I had regarding my stay and questions about Amsterdam. Breakfast was top-notch- during my travels in Holland and Belgium- very fresh-excellent cheeses, lox, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, cereals, yogurts, fresh brewed coffees-cappuccino,espresso and the best little crepe pancakes-the best!! You must have one when offered!! Rooms- modern bathrooms-adjustable shower-plenty of accessible outlets for charging electronics. Small closet for hanging jackets-boots etc. Lift- so you did not have do use the stairs to get up to your room or downstairs to the cheery room with windows for breakfast! Location is great for the Museum area and easily accessible to tram lines and public Bus 197 which for 5euro goes right to the Airport! This is a GEM and I hope they have a room the next time I visit Amsterdam!

Yelp
I can not say enough good things about this place! It is located in the heart of Amsterdam - right next to the Van Gogh and Rijks Museums - and walking distance from many Amsterdam sights. They also rent bikes at the hotel - a great option to enjoy the city and visit some farther away locations. The rooms were more spacious than I expected for a downtown Amsterdam place and the neighborhood is nice and quite. Above all the service was wonderful. They emailed us right away to confirm the reservation and were always very accommodating in any request that we had. The room includes breakfast, which is also a treat. Make sure to ask for the Dutch pancakes, which they can make upon request! The first day of our visit we actually did not realize that the breakfast was included - when we learned this - the hotel staff comped our bike rentals since we missed out! How thoughtful and kind! This is a wonderful place to stay during your visit to Amsterdam!

Yelp
Highly recommended. Before I even arrived, I received an email from Roel telling me they we looking forward to my stay and to confirm my arrival. He told me how to get to the hotel from the train station (very easy - they are a half a block from a stop) and gave me an overview of the city and the amenities of the hotel. The room was a good size, a large bathroom, very clean and comfortable. It's next to a playground but its very quiet at night. The hotel is within a very very short walk to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum (although it was being renovated during my visit and the paintings were at the OK Hermitage Amsterdam). I like to walk and I walked easily to all the major attractions in Amsterdam. Walking to the train station without heavy luggage is even possible. Breakfast was great and the staff were so nice. After I left I received another email as a follow up.

Yelp
Very excellent family run hotel in the museum district. Clean and quite comfortable spacious room with large windows. Breakfast is good with fresh baked croissants and good cheeses; the staff are quite pleasant, friendly and responsive. The hotel is small with only 20 rooms and feels refreshing and calming. The school nearby and daycare center in the courtyard are pleasant and we were able to nap in midday without trouble. A little city noise and bustle and a couple of nights there were some talkative folks from the hotel across the courtyard in the wee hours. Would stay again readily. There is a small elevator but it's best if one can also take the stairs. Stairs into the hotel and in the lobby, but staff will help with bags there.

Yelp
My daughter and friends stayed at Fita after hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro. They thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the location. Roel was extremely helpful to them. I called Roel from the U.S. to pay for flowers in their rooms to congratulate them on their trek. He generously paid for the flowers himself. True Nederlander hospitality.

Yelp
This small (20 room) hotel excels at customer service, friendly and efficient staff, wonderful breakfasts, and great location. Book early, as it fills up quickly.

Yelp
Small hotel, run by a local family. Awesome service, great breakfast, cheerful staff. Just excellent all round. Right down the street from both the Van Gogh and Rijks, one block to the tram line, easy to walk to the shopping/restaurants. Only caveat- the stairs are typical old European building type, so for folks with big feet step carefully!

Yelp
Hotel Fita is a great place to stay when you're in Amsterdam. My Husband and I stayed there while we were in town for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is family owned and operated and you really feel that charm and warmth while you're there. The staff is friendly, professional and goes out of their way to be sure your stay is comfortable. Plus, their Dutch pancakes are fantastic! We always felt well taken care of. We HIGHLY recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
A fabulous little hotel in a wonderful city. It is owned and operated by a family that truly has its heart in the business of making your stay a memorable experience. The hotel is immaculate, restored to perfection and maintained with love. The location is probably the best in Amsterdam. One block away from the museumplein where you will find the Van Gogh, the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk. My spelling might be a bit off, but you will find them all within a short walk. Also in close proximity are the trams that will take you wherever you wish to go in the city. A block in the other direction is high-end shopping that beats Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Let Roel know if stairs are a problem so you can be placed appropriately. Small elevator that works like a charm despite its size. The breakfast is generous and delicious, and the pancakes are the best I've ever eaten, hot and delicate and hard to forget. You cannot go wrong at the Hotel Fita. They really take care of you with the kind of personal attention you simply do not find in a big place. I give them my highest recommendation and can't wait until I return to Amsterdam and a room at this great hotel.
