Our experience at Hotel Fitzroy was a great way to end our trip to New Zealand. The staff were very attentive and allowed us to check into our room early, and additionally prioritised our breakfast due to an early flight. The decor in our room (Campbell Suite) and the main hotel is fantastic, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well designed. The hotel is in a great area of town (Ponsonby) with lots of shops, bars and restaurants, although I recommend booking the restaurants in advance. We had a very memorable stay!

I recently stayed at the Hotel Fitzroy with friends and it was a wonderful experience. The staff, in particular Pablo, Leo, and Eric, were incredibly accomodating and welcoming. We received really helpful dining out and walking around tips. I loved the hot breakfast every morning too. Also, the room itself was really nice and well maintained and I appreciated the free snacks and beverages. They also had a daily happy hour in the evening. The location was ideal as it was on a quiet street, but within a short walk to Ponsonby Road, which had a lot of dining and shopping options. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others! Hope to go back one day!

Stayed for a night en route from north of the island to the south.|An absolutely lovely boutique hotel. Only 19 or so rooms.|Welcome and staff were excellent.|The original building had been really well refurbished and the extension which is architecturally very interesting has just four rooms.|The public areas are very good and the wine / drinks in the evening was a nice touch.|Rooms well fitted and the TV had multi channels and access to Prime and Netflix.|We opted for breakfast on the first floor deck.|The hotel is about 5 min walk from Ponsonby Central. It is a little out of Auckland CBD but that didn’t bother us as we had stayed there the previous week.

What a wonderful hotel. The check in process was great, Leo welcomed me with some tea and a seat in the cozy reception area. He helped me carry my very heavy luggage upstairs and brought me to a fabulous room. The bed was cozy, the bathroom luxurious. The library was my favorite, sitting there to relax for the evening with canapes and wine and meet some other guests, who all had fun stories to share. Hotel was close to shopping and dining, but I really never wanted to go out! I will always stay here now and certainly let friends know about it as well!

What a wonderful stay! The location, breakfast, hotel and staff were all amazing. We mostly dealt with Pablo at the hotel and he was so lovely, accommodating and gave great tips! Erick and Leo were also nice, but we mostly were in contact with Pablo. The rooms were comfortable, and loved the free mini bar. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Auckland!

This Hotel exceeded my expectations!!! Such a beautiful boutique hotel! It screams luxury from bed linens to plush bathrobes! High end toiletries (smell so good) and heated bathroom floor tiles! Not to mention delicious breakfast daily either served in bed or in the balcony (your choice)! They also serve happy hour daily from 5-6pm with yummy hor d’oeuvres and drinks! The highlight of our trip was the excellent guest service that the staff provided! They were so attentive and accommodating! Shout out to Leo, Erick, Pablo, and the Chef (sorry, didn’t get the name)! We will definitely going to stay there again when we go back to Auckland, NZ!

Hotel Fitzroy was the perfect home base in Auckland. We stayed at the hotel for a few days upon our arrival to NZ this past Jan 2025 and again for a day before departing back home. The rooms were super spacious and comfortable, and the Ponsonby location was perfect -- easy walk to the commercial center while still being ensconced in a quiet area. The staff, in particular, were incredible -- we loved the truly personal touch and great recommendations, and we really appreciated their flexibility with the early and late checkouts we needed as a result of our flight times. We will absolutely be staying at Fitzroy again if our journeys take us back to NZ.
