Pros: The decor of the room is very nice, with 3m ceilings and large windows that open. The bathroom is spacious and the underfloor heating is a nice touch.
Cons: There is much not to like.
The hotel is noisy and we could hear people walking in the halls and upstairs at all hours of the night.
The room appears spacious because of the high ceilings, but in fact is quite small. There is only one chair and a tiny table (for two people) wedged into a corner right next to the bathroom door.
The room we had (Campbell Suite) overlooked a side yard where the hotel's bags of laundry were prominently on display, and the other window overlooked the street which was very busy with cars.
There is only street parking available (and not necessarily near the hotel), with no drop-off area, so be prepared to walk if you don't get lucky finding a spot.
Staff presented themselves as pleasant, but seemed put out with basic requests.
Not sure about the security, as someone tried to open the door to our room in the middle of the night. It could have been another guest thinking it was their room, but it also could have been someone from outside the hotel.
We were looking forward to our stay and expected Hotel Fitzroy to deliver a luxury experience, but we were totally disappointed.
