Hotel Fitzroy by Luminous

Our experience at Hotel Fitzroy was a great way to end our trip to New Zealand. The staff were very attentive and allowed us to check into our room early, and additionally prioritised our breakfast due to an early flight. The decor in our room (Campbell Suite) and the main hotel is fantastic, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well designed. The hotel is in a great area of town (Ponsonby) with lots of shops, bars and restaurants, although I recommend booking the restaurants in advance. We had a very memorable stay!

What a wonderful stay! The location, breakfast, hotel and staff were all amazing. We mostly dealt with Pablo at the hotel and he was so lovely, accommodating and gave great tips! Erick and Leo were also nice, but we mostly were in contact with Pablo. The rooms were comfortable, and loved the free mini bar. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Auckland!

This Hotel exceeded my expectations!!! Such a beautiful boutique hotel! It screams luxury from bed linens to plush bathrobes! High end toiletries (smell so good) and heated bathroom floor tiles! Not to mention delicious breakfast daily either served in bed or in the balcony (your choice)! They also serve happy hour daily from 5-6pm with yummy hor d’oeuvres and drinks! The highlight of our trip was the excellent guest service that the staff provided! They were so attentive and accommodating! Shout out to Leo, Erick, Pablo, and the Chef (sorry, didn’t get the name)! We will definitely going to stay there again when we go back to Auckland, NZ!

Hotel Fitzroy was the perfect home base in Auckland. We stayed at the hotel for a few days upon our arrival to NZ this past Jan 2025 and again for a day before departing back home. The rooms were super spacious and comfortable, and the Ponsonby location was perfect -- easy walk to the commercial center while still being ensconced in a quiet area. The staff, in particular, were incredible -- we loved the truly personal touch and great recommendations, and we really appreciated their flexibility with the early and late checkouts we needed as a result of our flight times. We will absolutely be staying at Fitzroy again if our journeys take us back to NZ.

Fitzroy was all we wanted to wrap up our honeymoon. The hotel is located in a beautiful area, rooms are quiet and beds are large, breakfast was delicious and the 2 team members we interacted with - Pablo and Eric - were friendly and helpful (thanks Pablo for the “what to do in 1 day in Auckland” recommendation) We would totally come back here if ever again in Auckland. Last but not least, short 30 mins ride from the airport

This was one of the most delightful hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff was attentive, the location was a short walk from the nightlife of Ponsonby (but not so close as to be noisy), the room was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Do yourself a favor and stay here without a second thought, we will definitely plan to visit again!

Fantastic hotel, the service was impeccable! Leo was a wonderful host, took care of us and start to finish. And the breakfast was out of this world, more than I could eat, but the best eggs Benedict I’ve had in a long long time. The location of this hotel is ideal, especially as an out-of-town visitor to Auckland. Definitely will stay here again!

Boutique Auckland city stay. Like a home away from home. Warm and welcoming hosts Sue and Chris made my stay in the city of sails. Sadly no time for Brekky so will have to come back 😊
