Hótel Flókalundur

Hotel was clean and modern-looking, our only gripe was the lack of space around the bed (no night stands, no power outlets, barely even space to stand). Room was a bit small, but OK, shower had a decent size, but sitting down in the toilet requires maneuvering around the sink. Dinner was really good (inexplicably the comparatively extensive menu isn’t available online), sadly for some reason breakfast felt disappointing in comparison. Gas pump and free car wash right outside are a nice plus to get all that gravel road dirt off the back of the car. All in all it was a nice overnight stay.

When you're stranded on your unprepared Iceland roadtrip, and you finally find a place that seems to have something to eat, you feel yourself filled with joy because your starved belly could soon be filled as well. With food. As we approached the counter, asking hopefully if we could settle ourselves in the dining room to order something to eat, we were told that eating in was only for hotel guests. And the nearest place was 45 minutes back (into the wrong direction) or 2 hours ahead. I take full responsibility of being unprepared. But this restaurant - that for the rest seemed very nice - was not able to host us, and that wasn't nice.

Property closed reception despite my message telling them I’ll arrive at 10pm and despite the confirmation email saying check in is open till 11:30pm. Hotel ignored my phone calls and didn’t respond to my email. In the end I had to drive 1,5hours to another hotel in the middle of the night, in rain and fog. The hotel has ruined my plans for the next day as I was too far out to be able to cover all locations planned from the farther distance. |I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid!!

The breakfast was amazing!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ There was a generous selection of fresh fruits beautifully arranged on the table.❤️❤️❤️❤️ The hot food was absolutely delicious ,everything was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. ❤️❤️❤️❤️The variety was impressive, and there was more than enough for everyone. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️A perfect and satisfying way to start the day!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excellent location for exploring the southern half of the Westfjords. Should have stayed two nights in order to trek the nature reserve, use the natural hotpot, and have a second go at the restaurant.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. After booking, the hotel attempted to coerce me into a bogus "validation" process under threat of cancellation and account blocking — despite Booking.com confirming no such action was required. This kind of intimidation is unprofessional, unethical, and completely out of line. I will be filing formal complaints and strongly advise others to avoid this property. Trustworthy hotels do not engage in tactics like this.

Excellent Hotel. Rooms are very nice. Bathroom is good and even has a heated towel rack. The restaurant is fantastic. We had a great time over two days and enjoyed it very much. Oden (The Owner) was a wonderful host and even joined us after diner for drinks and a story or two. Would love to go back.

Convenient location in the West Fjords. We got a superior double that was handicapped accessible - the plus side is that is was a very large, clean and comfortable room. The price include a buffet breakfast. The best part of the fresh bread. The rest was standard buffet. We had dinner in the restaurant. Don’t expect anything special. But it was convenient and checked the box. A bus load of tourists came and that dimmed the vibe a bit. There is a nice hiking trail right from the parking lot and. Small gas station where you can wash your car - which you will likely need to do if you drive here.
