Hotel Flôr de Sal

Very large rooms but make sure you get the ocean side. They come with extra large balconies too. Breakfast was good. Hotel is also attached to a large gym and a pool/spa with dry sauna too, (see my review for that) that is included in the price of your room. The only drawback is that the town is about a 15 minute walk, but I think the ocean, ocean boardwalk and gym/spa were worth it. The only other problem we experienced was the water was coming out brown out the sink and toilet.

Breakfast is good. The room is big and clean but the windows are not sound proof. Better pick the sea side. The spa area is shared with schools. The sauna and hamam are not quiet because of the pool nearby.

Nice service, YET, you get a super old stiff 1996 mattress. Bed comfort = 0 Go figure how they charge 200€ per night

Breakfast really well catered for, room airy and light. The gym, sauna reception person was rude, abrupt and insisted we pay 4Euro for a bathing cap or couldn't use the pool..it wasn't the 4 Euro we objected but her attitude.

The weather was windy and rainy, but I didn't mind the view of the car park and the mountains in the background. The hotel is well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. The WiFi in the room was insufficient; I had trouble connecting with my laptop.

I give 5-stars for this establishment for a number of reasons:||1. Friendly and well mannered employees. All employees (front desk, restaurant, housekeepers, window cleaners, etc) have positive energy.|2. Helpful employees in so many ways.|3. Respectfully of my accommodation.|4. Room is very clean and spacious with the most gorgeous views of the atlantic.|5. Food in the restaurant is delicious, scrumptious and healthy. Seafood is fresh. Variety of selections on breakfast buffet.|6. Host/hostess in the restaurant are all accommodating and respectful. |7. Customer service from the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping I will rate 5-star.|8. The ambiance of the establishment has a good vibe and calming.|9. Location of the hotel is perfect setting to relax and unwind.||Based on my experience, Portuguese people, in general are fabulous and wonderful people. |I would like to mention some names: Renata & Rodrigo (front desk), Elisa (restaurant) and Celmire (housekeeping). Thank you for being so accommodating, helpful and kind.|Although I was not able to get all the names, I can say that everybody in Hotel Flor de Sal, I rate them all 5-star. |I highly recommend this hotel/establishment.

In life there are two sides to most things... This hotel is exactly that.... A premium priced room facing the sea with its views, crashing waves balcony, manicured grounds and tranquility or.... and it states (the other side) mountain view room (that's a hill it's only 650m) but it's not really that view it's a view over the dockyard. (See pic) No tranquility here as this side is on an industrial estate at the top end where the traffic has to turn back to come out. Furthermore the council dustbin wagons yard is opposite and they start up from 3am with there reversing bleepers and then gun the trucks up the road... The rooms are spacious comfortable beds etc Breakfast was in abundance.... Staff who we dealt with were extremely friendly The windows could do with a clean.... Now the separate pool and spa tho connected was good but there was a lack of attentive staff and those that were there were preoccupied with their phones. A little too much surface water lying everywhere plenty of squeegee mops about but no staff Four of the windows by the upstairs pool/jacuzzi had blown and needed replacing Alot of rust on lights in corridor and on ceiling panels and mold/damp ceiling in changing rooms....

Really nice hotel. I’ve stayed here 4 times, in a different room type each time. My favorite is the sea view with a balcony. The lobby and hallway is very quiet with LOTS of seating, good for working on laptop. Breakfast buffet has eggs, fruits, pastries, meats, etc.
