I stayed at Hotel Flora for four nights this month during a business trip. While there were some positive aspects, the overall experience was undermined by several issues, most notably noise insulation and customer service.||The room was surprisingly small, especially when compared to expectations for business accommodations. The bathroom was of acceptable size, though it showed signs of neglect—dirty spots were visible, and the shower head was heavily calcified. Room layout was questionable: the bed was positioned directly beside the door, facing away from it, which may cause discomfort for some guests. The placement of the television was also impractical, rendering it essentially unusable. Furthermore, there were no kettles or coffee machines in the individual rooms; instead, guests on the entire floor had to share one unit located outside.||The most significant problem was the noise. The walls were extremely thin—every movement in the adjacent room was clearly audible. However, the more disturbing issue was structural: the ceiling of my room (211) creaked loudly whenever the guest above moved, especially at night. The noise was persistent and intrusive, resulting in multiple hours of lost sleep. Despite my request to be moved—explicitly explaining that the issue stemmed from the ceiling and not external noise—this was denied. This response from the hotel was disappointing and raises concerns regarding customer service responsiveness. I took videos of the noises, in case anyone or the hotel is interested.||Positive aspects:|- The location is excellent, with convenient access to surrounding areas.|- The breakfast offered was good, albeit not extensive.|- Daily room cleaning was reliably carried out.||Although Hotel Flora offers a convenient location and maintains reasonable cleanliness standards, the poor sound insulation and lack of responsiveness to guest concerns made the stay uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to business travelers sensitive to noise or expecting basic in-room amenities.

What a lovely hotel - loved the decor and ambience. Breakfasts were great, very central, and my room was super neat and comfortable. Lovely shampoo, conditioner and body wash - trust me on this - it really was lovely. Staff very friendly. I had a room on the third floor, not much of a view but I have had much worse. I had access to the work space at the hotel - and that was super great. Overall an amazing experience.

Love this hotel - so cosy. Fantastic breakfast, super comfortable beds(and the pillows are perfect!). Fresh sourdough bread from nearby bakery was still warm when we came down for breakfast.

Really lovely hotel with friendly staff. Everything you’d need for your stay and the breakfast was great. Only thing is the rooms were dusty, worn out and had a good amount of wear and tear. Could use a fresh coat of paint and a good dusting! Other than that, zero complaints.

The rooms are nice and most of them are designed themed. Some are really small. Great service. Breakfast was nice.

Smack down near pretty much everything. Very clean, a distinct style and good breakfast. Room was much bigger than expected with good amenities and heating. Breakfast was tasty, especially the fresh sourdough bread. As someone who doesn't eat meat Is appreciated that the cheese wasn't right next to the cold cuts as that usually would have people mix up the utensils. I stayed there on a saturday and the lobby was really happening all night, but none of it leaked to my room.

Stayed here two nights with a friend while traveling through Gothenburg. Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel. The beds were huge, room was a great size for two people. Bathroom was good size too and the shower was HUGE! A first since coming to Sweden. ||Location is about 15 minute walk from the train station but there are trams and buses accessible. Close to the food hall, river and the King's Park, which is so lovely to sit in during the afternoon. Breakfast is expansive and has a lot of variety.||WiFi was strong in the room, especially with both people streaming.||I only have two minor complaints: there is a lot of street noise outside the room. We were on a lower floor and it was loud at times. Second is that there is no table between the full beds. That would have been really helpful to have rather than awkwardly placing items in the "shelves" of the headboard.||Overall, would stay again and recommend it.

I really wanted to like this hotel - it's great to probably visit for drinks/food but we had various issues.||Pros: the staff, the location is brilliant (although possibly v loud if your room is at the front), the foyer is nicely decorated, breakfast was great ||Cons: I feel bad saying this because of the pros but this is not a 4 star. 4pm check-in is the latest I've seen. The first room had the weirdest set up - see photo - full length glass panel in the bathroom right next to the entrance door which meant if anyone opened the door to your room (and anyone walking past), they could see you in the shower or sitting on the toilet - why??? The light when someone used the bathroom at night was really annoying if you are a light sleeper. There was no air con and although there was a fan in the room (we had to ask for it in the second room), it remained really really warm. No kettle in the room - there are coffee machines on each floor and you get two coffee pods - there never seemed to be milk there though and it's not great to have to walk down a corridor holding a hot drink in a cup. Peeling paint in areas. Weird wardrobe with shelves which meant you had to hang dresses outside the wardrobe. They did move us from the first room although we had to leave the room at 11 and weren't allowed to enter into the new room till until 4pm (although we did manage to get in early - although reception didn't call us like they said they would to let us know) and were offered nothing to compensate for the loss of 5 hours where we had no room but had paid for it. The second room was better but still too hot and peeling wallpaper. Also there were no window coverings like voiles etc in the second room which faced windows opposite which meant you felt a bit weird keeping the curtains open if you were getting ready but the other option was to be in darkness with the curtains shut. Conversely, the first room which didn't face anything had sheer voiles.||The location however is excellent, the reception staff were lovely - maybe we were just unlucky but the two rooms we stayed at had issues and I wouldn't return.

Yelp
Never breathed better in a hotel room where all the walls felt like they could touch. The bathroom was pretty first class in regards to it having a lavish bathtub. Soft white towels were provided. Rooms were daily sanitized by the hardworking custodians. I spent both nights listening to my 90s playlist on the cute radio player. Decent breakfast selection. Not too much an issue as this hotel is in the city centre.

Yelp
This is quite nice and spacious hotel with a good breakfast. I stayed here while attending meetings at the University. I had a double room that was quite big, for what I am use to in Europe. the bathroom was decent size with a walk in shower and heater floor. I had a friend stay in a double room as well, her room and bathroom were bigger, however she had a tub and no heated floor. The noise outside could be a bit bothersome, especially on weekend nights, so you may want to try for a room at the front of the building. The staff was very friendly and knew the area quite well and gave some good recommendations for dinner. The breakfast included a nice variety of meats, cheeses, breads and fruit. It was quite filling and plenty of options. The downfall is that there is no gym and other hotels in the area included a gym and were priced comparably. I also found myself without shampoo/conditioner in the mornings because housekeeping has not replenished them.

Yelp
This hotel is truly a gem. University visitors are often booked here and one can see why. We have been in Europe for three weeks now and found this hotel to be better than Italy or the Lake District. Our dear friend had her wedding near Gothenburg and suggested this hotel. It is well placed in the city to be near wonderful restaurants, a large park, and a canal that offered kayaks to rent. My wife did and paddled both directions to the sea each time. The room was spacious and the bed heavenly. Two twins put together to make a king size. Big bathroom. Comfortable and efficient shower. Coffee service down the hall and marvelous breakfast included. Eggs, bacon, croissants, cereal etc. Quiet seating if desired. The staff is first class all the way. Polite, friendly, efficient and lovely. They deserve all the best business.

Yelp
We were there three days and picked it because I liked the name. When I saw the only review, I had to laugh. My room was so small I could almost touch three walls, but I did not mind. The bed was very small, but I slept like a baby in it. I can't complain (glad my wife wasn't with me - she wouldn't have fit). Nice heated bathroom floors, though. The service was great; location was excellent. I was very happy. The breakfast was good except the eggs. They were runny and not completely cooked. It was still good; I just didn't eat the eggs after the first day. The problems: the batteries in my door died and I couldn't get in. It took three trips to the lobby before they figured it out. There is only 1 elevator and it is slow as molasses in the winter. I ended up walking down the stairs instead of waiting. The stairs were quite steep, too! Also: if you are carrying heavy bags, you have two flights of stairs to climb to the elevator. I hope you are in good shape!
