I loved it here! What an amazing place. the salsa bar was busy every night. Staff is lackluster but I found that to be true everywhere I went. Great options nearby. Excellent location. Yes it’s loud, yes it’s damp. Air conditioning doesn’t really work. But so much marble. Experience probably differs based on nationality / passport.

We booked in here for our last day in Cuba hoping it would be a memorable stay before heading home. It was definitely memorable and for all the wrong reasons! The bed was dirty from the last person who had slept in it - it had blood in it and the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. They did begrudgingly change the sheets and give the bathroom a wipe, but we didn't get an apology.||Save your money and stay elsewhere!||The next day after raising the issues at check out the manager did eventually offer us a meal in their restaurant to compensate us. This went someway to improving things, but wasn't an especially good meal. ||The breakfast was also the worst we had while travelling around Cuba for two weeks and the room was damp with visible mould After just one night the pages in the books we had with us were curling from moisture. Not healthy! The whole experience ruined our last night of an amazing holiday in Cuba.||We stayed in plenty of other lovely places in Cuba for a fraction of the price, including one place nearby in Obispo which cost 20% a night of what this did. They were all sparklingly clean, hosted by wonderfully welcoming families and offered a fantastic breakfast.||The hotel is a beautiful building, but the rooms and service aren't up scratch. Anyone can walk in to take photos, I recommend this rather than paying for an awful stay. |

Hotel Florida is situated in the street Obispo, which is a main street that is fairly central to key places to eat, drink, to purchase wifi card, and see places of interest. The location of the Hotel is fairly central to every thing. We accessed a free walking tour around the city where the meeting place for the tour was within walking distance at the end of the street. ||||You will need to purchase a wifi card to use around the city, there are certain wifi hotspots were you can access the wifi, or restaurants have free wifi if you purchase a meal there. You can also purchase a wifi card from Hotel Florida but this can only be used in the hotel, it is slightly more expensive to purchase the hotels card. We didn't we used the Hotels wifi card.||||I would describe Hotel Florida as shabby chic, it is a historically beautiful hotel, original features and furniture, I felt I was in a 1940s movie set. We stayed at this hotel two nights, it was supposed be three nights, however, we were informed that they were doing some work on the hotel and everyone had to leave. ||||We were informed that we had to stay at another hotel - which was a great improvement on the Hotel Florida.

It is very difficult for tourists to rate hotels in Cuba - do you compare against other Cuban establishments or on a world scale? Against other Cuban establishments, this would probably rate 4-5 stars. Against world standards it is probably a three. The hotel, superficially at least, is of a high standard but on closer inspection is tired and dirty. Our room was clean enough but the hotel itself shows it hasn't aged gracefully. On the positive, the location is great.

Not five stars but lots of the right stuff. Centrally located to old Havana, air conditioned, generous breakfast, a little bar downstairs if you want a nightcap close to home. The rooms are comfortable although can be a touch noisy, and the water pressure isn’t ideal. There was some confusion and out rooms weren’t ready upon arrival. But overall a very nice place to stay albeit a bit campy.

The pictures are both accurate and misleading. The architecture is Spanish colonial and very fine. Calle Obispo is a fine street with lots to see and enjoy. The Hotel Florida is grimy and rather sad. Damp patches abound and, in some rooms, water drips through from an unknown location. The staff, like most Cubans, are charm personified, but have no work ethic. Service is an alien concept to them. The breakfasts are dire. Find a recommended hostal (on TripAdvisor, of course) for 10% of the price of this dump.

Our stay at this hotel was initially bad but became good in a few minutes. We had reserved a room with a balcony, but because of the balcony door, the room could not be cooled down and mold was dripping over the bathroom door. We were quickly moved to a new room which was quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good.

This place was gorgeous, we had dinner and drinks here and it was one of the best meals we had here in Cuba. The architecture is amazing, the food is wonderful, and the drinks couldn't have been better!! We were there for quit some time chumming it up with the bartender, I really wish we could've stayed longer, we really enjoyed our time here and it was also the only place we've been in Cuba that had satellite t.v. so we enjoyed a little baseball while we there as well!!
