While the location of this hotel is excellent (right on a main street with lots of restaurants nearby, and close to the monastery), I would not recommend it due to the quality of the rooms. The door of my room got stuck and I had to wait an hour for maintenance to come and open it, while all my belongings were inside. They moved me to another room where the exterior/patio door didn’t close properly so there was a lot of sound coming from outside; the in-room phone here was from 1997 (literally - the sticker on the bottom said so). In a colleague’s room, there was a jetted tub instead of a shower and she said the jets were visibly filthy. In yet another colleague’s room, all of the lights turned off whenever the shower was on. The rooms in general are quite outdated in terms of furniture and amenities, and visibly worn down. I also found the walls to be quite thin so could hear a lot of noise from the street, hall and my neighbors. On the bright side, the beds were quite large.

Room felt old and in need of some serious renovation. The bathroom was great, but the mattress needed changing!

Very close to the town sights, particularly the monastery, but no views. Room was disappointing because the bathroom extractor fan was not working (and not fixed during our two nights stay) nor was the room temperature controller. The walls allowed a lot of noise from the next room to disturb us until 3am on the second night. Staff were generally very helpful, but the place had a run down feel to it. Breakfast buffet was good. We were on a group tour so our experience might be different to solo travelers.

The hotel room is very clean, the beds are firm, sheets thick, clean washroom with good wide sink at the top. We were on the third floor with a slight view of the street. You just have to open the windows and there is a wonderful cool breeze. There is a great buffet in the morning. All well worth the price you pay. You are right on the cafe boulevard and restaurant area. This is a great area to find a cafe and have a glass of wine or beer and just watch people. The is a lot of variety when it comes to the restaurants in the are, you just have to find one that appeals to your taste.

Very good option for staying in El Escorial. Room with a little balcony and just a street away from monastery, with a nice view on it. Quiet big and very nice room. With all that you need (TV, air-conditioning, very big and comfortable bed). Bathroom was having a bath with massaging option. For sure I would repeat it. Breakfast was average, but still very good.

If you must stay here get the upgraded rooms. Regular rooms are pretty bad. TV's not working. Lights off in the bathroom (I stayed there in the upgraded room for a week, and the light off was never changed). Good location though, just across from the Monastery (a must see!). Breakfast included.

This is a very homely hotel. It cannot be compared to a Holiday Inn or anything else because it is at least one hundred years old. It is almost like a boarding house. The rooms are very plain. The breakfast provided is adequate. No extras here. Just a place to stay for tourists who are not going to be spending much time in the hotel. The only good thing was that the rooms and the beds were clean.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre, within a 5-minute walk from the bus station. The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious. The bathroom was clean and apart from towels, shampoo ans soap there was even toothbrush kit, comb and razir kit. The only slight problem was the late breakfast which started at 8:00.
