Hotel Fontana Plaza

The hotel is in the heart of Torrevieja, all the sights and beaches are within easy walking distance. In about one hour one can even walk on a beautifully prepared path to the pink lake.|The rooms are comfortably large and the top floor offers a side seaview but Torrevieja is too fully built-in for unobstructed views. The breakfast was a very average spread but it wqs possible to order hot dishes freshly prepared. There is both a pool and a gym in the hotel but the latter is in dire need of an upgrade, some machines don’t work at all, the rest are making some worrying sounds.

Firstly if you book thru a tour operator do not book the shuttle bus it will drop you off on the main road and you would have to walk as it’s too big to get down the streets also they will charge you £80 each way for a private taxi when right outside you can get an airport taxi for 65e. The room was clean and basic, clean towels everyday. 2 bottles of water in your fridge but these do not get replaced. The shower is a bit unusual as it’s open to the room separated by a low wall and a mirror, they supply sachets of shampoo and shower gel and. Soap.The pool was clean and not busy you could always get a sunbed. If you book in advance ask for a room overlooking the pool otherwise you overlook the street. Less than 5 mins walk to the sea front. Some of our favourite places to eat where Harry’s Bar say hello to Ruben, the El Meson de la Costa Steakhouse advisable to book and Emilia Corazon, the best Serrano ham and cheese 12e the same dish will cost you 15e on the sea front. There is not much of a beach as it’s very rocky just a couple of patches of sand, no beds or umbrellas available. The better beaches are further round the coast at La Mata. The red train will take you out to the salt flats and a tour guide will explain all about it. The blue train goes along the coast and thru the back streets.|Any questions just ask

Good as a basic base. The bar in the hotel is closed never to open again by the look of it. Pool is not disabled friendly, pool ladders only, which was a disappointment, the hotel having a pool was one of the reasons for booking it but having a disability I was unable to use it. But not too far from the sea front and plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity and the staff were helpful and friendly. But they could do so much more with the hotel.

We stayed one night in a standard first-floor room with two single beds and a street-facing balcony. The room itself was clean with effective air conditioning, and the safety deposit box used a separate plastic key (a bit unusual but functional).||Be aware of extra charges: €15 for garage parking and €25 for our Chihuahua. The hotel's gym was excellent and free for guests.||While the rooms are somewhat dated and worn, the pool area looked nice. However, we preferred the beach, which was just a short walk away.||Breakfast was disappointing for vegans - only fruit available. We'd consider staying again, but would skip the breakfast option.

I only stayed for two nights and found the hotel quite adequate for my needs. The room, bedding and bathroom area were clean and tidy. I thought the room was a bit stark. There was a sizeable balcony but unfortunately it was too hot to sit outside. The aircon was not too noisy, which was fortunate as it was running constantly due to the high temperatures. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located for the beach and shopping areas. There was a dog in the room next door and it barked occasionally. I did not use any of the facilities or have breakfast in the hotel. There are some decent bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

We stayed Hotel Fontana one night on our honeymoon in August 1987. We have spent time in Torrevieja tens of times since then but then In Cabo Cervera area. This year we decided to spent 4 nights with our adult sons in Torrevieja and choose Hotel Fontana for our accommodiation again - after 38 years. |We were quite curious what the hotel would feel and like after these 38 years. |But.. honestly we can estimate that Fontana - even it is ”three star” hotel completely full filled our family needs! It is really relaxded hotel and really in the middle of the town. Short walk for everywhere and back! Pool area was very nice and the whole staff earns our family’s respect for their service attitude. Hotel is of cource a little bit worn, but of our opinion it is not the main point in this story, but Fontana’s central position and excellent service artitude of whole staff is what made us to estimate this to be good for us to spend a family holidays.

It is in the perfect location for the beach and shops and restaurants . Less than 5 minutes walk. It's nice and clean and service is spot on. Nice pool and bar. All good.

This is the worst hotel I've ever been to. Last night, we needed two rooms for four people. Two of us had residence cards, and two friends had passports. They refused to let us in. The reason was that my friends didn't have Spanish IDs. We were visiting the city and couldn't drive home, so we wanted to stay here. We don't understand why the hotel refused to let us in. Why did they open a hotel?
