Hôtel Forestel

When we arrived after a long trip, we were met and checked in very quickly. The room was clean, spacious. The bed was great, soft. The air conditioning worked and so did the TV. The bathroom was clean. But in the morning we had a misunderstanding, we did not understand whether breakfast was included or not, and when we asked at the reception, we were told that we could go have breakfast. After which we went to breakfast, ate, and then the girl who works there runs up to us, unfriendly says that we have a paid breakfast and you need to pay. We paid for breakfast. But we did not know, we were mistaken. When one said that breakfast is included and others did not. The girl was tense and not tactful in communication, which really spoiled the mood and impression. The guy who worked with her tried to help and was much friendlier in communicating with us. The breakfast itself was delicious and fresh, however, like all other hotels only included in the price. There are no complaints about the hotel itself, very nice and clean. The girl and guy at the reception were nice.

Service was very poor!!! I got there pretty late and the guy at the desk had really poor manners in the way he was handling things(like freaking out at the printer) and the way he was responding to me!!! It is way over priced compared to booking online. So much over priced I ask if there was breakfast included with no luck!!! I am never getting a room here again!!!

Down graded from a suite to a regular room after check in with my family in tow. Said sorry with a big smile. Turned away at the restaurant middle of a quiet/empty afternoon. Been coming here for many years 6x a year. Several consecutive bad stays with terrible service culminâtes in this stay, and my decision to never return. On a side note, Ive noticed the hotel has been slipping on quality and cleanliness over the years. Not much better than a motel,now, really.

I stay in numerous hotels all over Canada and the USA. Part of the job as a motorcoach driver. The rooms here were by far the nicest I've been in, the large jacuzzi tub is a great touch not to mention the leather furniture and style. I say YES!!! All day long.

Travelling with a group of 11 snowmobilers. 3rd year in a row staying here. I organized the trip. Booked two rooms. The other folks called the next day and booked their rooms. ||Find out that their rooms were $250 and included breakfast. Mine were $350 and did not include breakfast. When I politely spoke to the manager in the morning, and explained the details, he said - nothing we can do about it now. BTW, the breakfast buffet was $25 each! (This is the most expensive hotel by far on a 4 day trip)||The service in the restaurant was vastly understaffed for dinner the night we arrived. 2.5 hour wait for a spaghetti dinner. The hotel knows their occupancy levels so they should be able to appropriately staff their restaurant. ||Find another hotel. They didn’t care to make things right when presented the details, nor do they know how to run their own restaurant. ||Very disappointed - will stay somewhere else.

Excellent service, I reserved the room and my girlfriend set up a big surprise for me when i arrived decorated in one of the rooms with a king as a romantic gesture and proposed to me, as we spent 3 amazing nights celebrating our engagement nice

A mixed bag of reviews. But long story short, wayyy over priced and very poor service. Credit due, hotel rooms are nice, comfy and overall good, could be a bit cleaner and I had a towel still covered in somebody’s makeup. Then there’s the dinner, food was good, well made and tasty, but it took nearly 2 and a half hours to get our meal, that’s just unacceptable no matter how you put it, the waitress was very polite though and was very apologetic, not her fault their restraint is just very understaffed. Then when it came to our room booking. For $350 a night, we received no breakfast meal ticket because “we didn’t ask for it over the phone” stated by the manager. Our rooms were $350 while our friends room which was the exact same booked one day later was $250, and included a breakfast ticket. When explaining to the manager that we have come here for 3 years and with a group of 15 guys each time, he found it reasonable to just say that we couldn’t get our breakfast ticket because he couldn’t change anything, load of bs. Very disappointing considering we have come here for 3 years now on our snowmobile trip, but if the manager wants to act like that and rip off loyal customers than we’ll find another place to stay in town

Very nice hotel and rooms, still smells new. I'd say the showers could be scrubbed slightly better, some grime came off the bottom seal while I was showering but over all the experience was great.

Bad service and rude hostess at both the reception and restaurant, we had a snowmobile package and when we check mes in we got told the restaurant was open any time till 9pm, when tried to heat at the hotel restaurant we got told there was no room for us And they didn't care if we could heat there or not, that reception hostess then said "it's not my freaking problem and I can't help you, call the manger tomorrow morning" Why would they sell snowmobile package if they can't serve us that is a bi no no in customer service.

I've stayed here a couple of times; once for business and another time while traveling during the holidays. I really like this hotel. It is extremely clean and the design of the rooms and bathrooms are very modern. There is a small gym with minimal equipment for working out, opened from 6am to 10pm. The foyer is very comfortable and the staff are fully bilingual. The biggest drawback is that Forestel is on the outside of town. You need a car to get it as it is not an easy walking distance. CAA: Discount available to CAA members. BREAKFAST: Not included. CONFERENCE ROOMS: Really well set up and good working equipment. PETS: This is one of the few hotels in Val D'Or that accept animals.

New Rooms are great , Nice touch of class very wll done. Staff are super Friendly
