Great location near Spanish Steps. Good friendly service. Good breakfast. Benefits if one pays cash. Rooms are tight but that’s typical of Rome, Paris, London. Only negatives were bathroom design and plumbing smell typical of such old buildings. To be fair, managers were responsive whenever it occurred. I would be happy to recommend the hotel to others.

Very disappointing. They are renovating parts of the hotel, so you have to try to rest with a background of hammering and electric saw. Some rooms are very outdated. Others are renovated but the plumbing off gases and the whole time smells like sewer. Some rooms are so small you can’t open your bag.

Rooms are small (expected), but if you are more than roughly 20" wide, you will NOT be able to squeeze through the glass shower doors... AC did not really cool the room down at all, but we had no issue at other hotels we stayed at the same week. Cleaning staff turned down the AC on our 1st morning, so it was uncomfortably warm when we got back from adventures that day. We also didn't have any towels in our room when we checked in, but they did provide a good supply the follow days. Walls are strange, completely covered in fabric. Looks nice, but worrysome if a fire were to occur in the hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff! Great location. I would stay again, but maybe a different room with larger bathroom and better AC

The location was Exceptional and the best considering the price i paid per night . no more than 2 min walking to the Piazza di Spagna and 10 min walking to Fontana di Trevi . the shopping streets and the best restaurants are in walking distance . the only negative thing was the noise in the hotel until 17.00 . they were redecorating some rooms and the noise was really bad considering i had a 20 month old baby who slept until 16.30-17.00

We are currently staying here and found the staff amazing. It is true the rooms are a little small - but compared to many major cities they are very good. What makes the hotel fabulous is the kind, knowledgable and caring staff. My partner hurt his ankle on our departure day and the man on reception was of wonderful assistance, helping us with ice for the swelling and making us comfortable. The cleaners and lady on breakfast duty could not do enough for us. I highly recommend it. Re location - you are right next to the Spanish Steps and many other areas of interest. Getting here from Termini station, on the metro, was very easy and 1.50 euro! We had planned to go back to the airport via metro/train from termini, that seemed a very easy cheap trip. However, due to my husband's injury we were forced to order a taxi, set price £50 E, which the hotel staff booked for us. Thanks so much to the team there! Despite injury, a great end to our holiday.

Small rooms old vintage But I have to be honest with you the location is idea close to everything. Just make sure you don’t come late at night else you’l find the hotel doors closed which you need to ring the door bell!

It's unfortunate that we had an unfortunate experience here for its a fairly convenient location (with terribly small rooms). First, our bed was misconfigured (king instead of two twins), though we had confirmed these arrangements ahead of time. They were unable to switch the bed's around for us and instead said we would have to move rooms tomorrow. A plus? We found extra pillows in the closet: this helped with our situation. The next morning we put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door and went out for the day. When we returned, the room wreaked off too-strong cleaning products, our pillows were taken from the room, the bed was still a king size and the DO NOT DISTURB sign was blatantly thrown on the side table!!!!? This is a severe security violation in my book and I strongly do not want people in my room when I'm not there. I'm furious at their lack of guest regard. Absolutely no ability to be accommodating or even understanding. We have traveled Venice, Florence, and Cinque Terra this trip (staying at lesser rated star hotels and this). Hotel Forte is by FAR the worst experience.

This was the perfect location for our four days in Rome. The room was small but comfortable and seemed to be clean. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as there were many places close by to grab better food for a comparable price. The service was great, everyone we interacted with was very helpful. Our room overlooked the street and IG is quite noisy throughout the night. The windows did a great job blocking the noise, but we needed them open for air flow so it was tricky. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Yelp
The goods: It's super convenient because it's in the central part of the city where we can get our hands on some of the best things to do here like touring the coliseum, see the Vatican, go shopping and try out real Italian pastas, tiramisu, limonada, etc. The interior is super cute and updated with very simple set-up yet comfortable. We had the 2-beds which fit four people. The only inconvenience is having just 1 bathroom but is the norm for this type of housing in the shopping district. Otherwise, it will cost us too much. This place includes a washer to get a little bit of laundry done. However, we chose to walk for a few blocks and use the self-service laundry facility. Also, there is a short walking distance to refill our water bottles from the 24/7 water fountain that runs through and through and a huge plus versus buying 1 million bottled water. The water from the fountain is actually more efficient and tastes much better than distilled or sparkling water. In Rome, there are cafes and shops all over that are available for all tourists. Rome is indeed never without tourists. I recommend this place very much. Just check what it provides that will fit all your needs. For us, this worked out very well to do as we wished while touring this amazing city.

Yelp
While boutique and cheap as a 3 star we felt it to be worse than stated. Difficult to find with no assistance present at entry for heavy bags or front desk management this place is sadly a upgraded hostel in my opinion. The room we had was the size of a king size bed. 125 sq ft and bathroom i couldn't fit into it was smaller than a phone booth. Lol. Needless to say we stayed for an hour rebooked elsewhere and vacated. They charged me a 1 night fee as well for staying an hour. I do not recommend

Yelp
Tarik, one of the front desk employees is an incompetent passive aggressive man. This was my families first time traveling to Rome, and we were unaware of the protocols for the hotel as there was no communication during the check-in process. For those that don't know, there are two codes that you are supped to enter when they close the doors to the ground level entrance. After exploring the city with a child, we were attempting to get into the hotel and rang the bell to be allowed in. Unfortunately, Tarik was the employee on shift. Instead of unlocking the doors for us, he stuck his head out of a window and scolded us about not knowing the code that we are supposed to enter while we stood outside at 1:30AM with a child. We had told him our room number and asked him if he could kindly let us in; to which he declined. Sir, if we had known about the code don't you think we would have entered and not called for assistance? As we made it to the first floor to get to our room, we needed another code to enter the double sliding doors. We made two unsuccessful attempts to get into the doors before he grabbed the paper from my cousins hands and also failed to enter the code two times before successfully opening the doors. At 5 am, the hotel phone, which we believed was decorations, continuously rang waking us up. When I answered the phone, no one answered and hung up. I had to disconnect the phone in order to attempt to sleep. We did not tell anyone we would be staying in our room other than Tarik. We are aware that he does not like Americans. There are also flys in the room, ants on the floor, and mold in the bathroom. Though the hotel is in a nice location, the experience here was horrible and we have never felt more unwelcome. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Our group stayed here a week or so before Italy began it's coronavirus shutdown. Our stay was beyond exceptional! Our room was cleaned every day. It was small but definitely a place we looked forward to coming "home" to after long days of exploring. It had a tendency to get stuffy, but we simply opened up those windows & shutters and the room was aired out almost instantly. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom fit our needs just fine. The gentlemen at the front desk were always kind, welcoming, and helpful. They helped us out with maps, getting a safe open that was stuck, calling cabs for our departure, you name it. Gabriella in the dining room was incredibly sweet and accommodating. She regularly had hot tea ready for a member of our party, set out plenty of food for breakfast, made delicious espresso & cappuccino, and kept everything clean and organized. As for location, it can't be beat. Close to everything and a gorgeous cobblestone street, the famous Via Margutta. There was some traffic during work hours, but it didn't affect us much. It was an easy walk to the Spanish Steps and metro. Definitely a safe, central, and beautiful location. Everyone in our party of eight agreed that we would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. This was our home away from home and we loved everything about it. No complaints. Not one. Ciao!

Yelp
I have never been threatened by a hotel staff before. It was a nightmare. The room was misrepresented online and when we mentioned it to the front desk attendant, he completely lost control. He became aggressive, insulting, and belligerent. My daughter and I, traveling alone, were afraid to stay. We weren't sure if it was his mercurial personality or if he just didn't like Americans. We were clearing targeted, since we didn't have a man in our party. He was on the phone with his manager and they were clearly poking fun at us and using derogatory language. Even though we never used the room, I offered to pay for the first night and he kept saying "Do you think I am a stupid man?" We left, since we feared for our safety. The location is great, but we were so disappointed, we didn't feel it was safe to safe. Buyer beware. If we weren't required to by Yelp, we wouldn't give this hotel any star at all.
