We only stayed here one night after travelling around Italy for 11 days. I must say the description of a “superior updated room” (309) is a little baffling as the rooms have been given a light Reno in my opinion and appear well worn. This hotel began operations in 1962 and has the feel of an old hotel. Not one with old charm, like say staying in a 16th century Palazzo in Lecce, but rather just an old tired feel. Rooms and bathrooms are very small, but clean. Beds are doubles as no queens are available, so know that upfront if you like a larger bed. The draw of this hotel is obviously the location but if you are of average fitness, any hotel location nearby is also decent.||The staff however are excellent, with prompt courteous service and a friendly welcoming smile. The rooftop bar is great for a before dinner drink and provides beautiful views of the Forum. We did not dine at the restaurant so can’t comment on the cuisine options or quality. ||There is a difference between historical charm (200-500yrs old) vs being young and tired (62 yrs old).

First rate location, opposite the Forum and the Colosseum. Walking distance of everywhere in the ancient city.||It is a vintage hotel in a building that is even older. Stylish in a shabby-chic way.||Room was very comfortable with 2 bathrooms and effective a/c during the heatwave.||Staff are professional and friendly, from reception through to the beautiful rooftop restaurant and American bar. Food was excellent. Great view.||It is true that it is pricy, but that is true of Rome generally, and you do get what you pay for!||Recommended without reservation. Will return.

I have been extremely satisfied with the hospitality and professionalism of the staff at Hotel Forum. Recently, two of my customers were on a leisure trip and had booked a hotel opposite Forum. Unfortunately, they arrived late and found the reception closed. The staff at Hotel Forum kindly stepped in, offering them a room with breakfast and going above and beyond to ensure they felt relaxed and at ease. The feedback I received from my customers about the hotel’s facilities and rooms was overwhelmingly positive. I truly appreciate the exceptional service and look forward to staying at Hotel Forum myself in the future!

We will never forget our extra-special stay at the Hotel Forum for our honeymoon, largely due to everyone's welcoming and warm reception! A special mention to Giovanna , Marco, and Giacamo who all went above and beyond to welcome us for our honeymoon. Upon our arrival, we had a beautiful letter and bottle of prosecco waiting for us, a total surprise! The views are unforgettable as you are literally across the street from The Forum. During breakfast, you see have a direct view of The Forum also, as well as stunning panoramic views of the city of Rome. My family has been staying here for four generations, and we hope to always continue staying at the absolute best hotel in Rome!

Very much enjoyed this hotel during our stay in Rome. It’s in great walking distance to many surrounding sites. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are a little older but a comfortable stay. We enjoyed breakfast and the views. The American Bar was a nice way to enjoy sunset after a long day. Overall we would definitely come back and stay here again!

This is the second time we stayed here. The hotel is very clean, older in design and decorating. We were able to secure a family sized room, which other hotels did not offer. We loved the breakfast out on the rooftop restaurant, it’s just a nice way to have a slow morning before you head out into busy Rome. Everything was well prepared and the service was great. You can walk to nearly everything here for the Colosseum and Forum, plus the metro stops are close by. We loved the rooftop bar at night with the ruins lit up.

The American Bar at Hotel Forum offers an absolutely magical experience! We were captivated by the great views of the Roman Forum at sunset, which made for an unforgettable backdrop. Federico and Paolo provided truly exceptional service – their kindness and attentiveness went above and beyond. They even surprised me with a delicious birthday dessert that my bestie and I adored! For impeccable service and breathtaking views, this is the perfect spot. Thank you, Federico and Paolo, for a wonderful evening!😌

One of the better hotels in Rome and well worth the money. It is ideally located for the Roman Forum, Palatino, Colosseo and close to one of the nicest areas in Rome for dining and sightseeing. The hotel is old but with character and despite its maze like structure to get to the rooms (part of the Forum experience) the technology upgrades for the rooms is pretty amazing. But the highlight of this hotel is its terrace restaurant with an insatiable view of the Roman Forum, enjoyed with exquisite food in a lovely atmosphere of live, soft classic music. The staff are genuinely pleased to serve which makes the whole experience well worthwhile. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
A funny thing happened on the way to the forum. It was hilarious actually! Got some gelato, then saw some thousand year old ruins, then told a knock knock joke. Then had the food! Service, and look of the place is Great!! Solid restaurant

Yelp
This review is about the rooftop bar called American Bar that you enter from this restaurant. I have not eaten at this restaurant so cannot comment on the food or the service here. The rooftop bar is small but very cozy and has fantastic views of the ruins in Rome. Go there before sunset for a cocktail and watch the sun go down. It's magnificent. The bar has a decent cocktail menu. On suggestion of a local colleague I tried the Americano cocktail which is a Roman invention named after the American tourist, who seem to like this cocktail. They brought out chips and snacks for us throughout the evening and the bar tender was pretty good and made a decent cocktail. If you are looking for a rooftop bar in Rome, I would definitely recommend this one. It's classy, cozy and has an amazing view.

Yelp
Very werid experience. The servers kept taking the wine list from us without asking what Chelsea wanted. They had plenty to give out to other tables so it wasn't that reason. The server then brought us a wine glass for Chelsea which she didn't ask for and they still charged us. Werid. The food was just ok. We honestly went for the view but, the way that set the lighting up for the holidays made a terrible reflection on the windows so you couldn't see out well. Best part was that one of the managers asked us to visit the outside bar that was closed. It allowed us to take a couple pictures of the city. So a ok pricey dinner(we knew the costs beforehand) ended in a delight with the view I wanted. Moose Out

Yelp
Fantastic rooftop dinning and bar. My star rating is based on a visit to the rooftop bar to have cocktails while the sun set over a spectacular view of the 1st king of Rome's palace. They did provide nuts and chips with the cocktails.

Yelp
I made reservations for dinner here about a week ago and I'm glad I did. As in, make a reservation if you want to eat here, but eating here is not a "must do" when in Rome. The reason being, the gripes with reservation get priority seating with the views, and this place is all about dinner with a view. Customer service- highly trained and qualified staff who cater to all your needs, making sure your glass is always full. One of the severs was Reno who was wonderful, he was friendly, well mannered, offered to take pictures of my us and and I and just very pleasant. He made the whole dinner worth it. Ask for Reno. Dinner itself- the menu offers a variety of selection including plenty of wines. They also have a chef selection tasting menu which was 75 euros. You are able to order off the tasting menu a la Carte as well. I ordered the black ink pasta which was good, but I found it to be really salty. If it went for that, it's a great dish to try. My husband got the ravioli which was delicious, but very creamy so it made us very full. I would def recommend this. We had drinks earlier upstairs in the American bar which was an experience itself. So for two dishes, two cocktails is and half A bottle of wine the bill was just over 120 euros. By all means, I think there is better food other places, and their food is good also, But keep in mind that it is all about the view.

Yelp
We stumbled onto this place kind of by accident. What a happy accident indeed! The location is of course fantastic- we expected that part. The food however, turned out to be quite awesome. I had the Sicilian Swordfish with capers, olives, and mushrooms. That is the best fish I have had since Hawaii. Absolutely delicious! The shrimp salad- though it arrived with eyeballs... It was amazing!!! Dessert was a bit underwhelming for me. I should have went with my first choice and had the pear cake but I decided crepes would be more authentic Italian fare. Forget that---go for the pears. I had to bribe my son to get bites of his. :) it's definitely a do! Great place

Yelp
Front staff very rude upon check in which put a bad impression in my head the entire stay. Rooms are clean. Quaint. Morning breakfast really not worth the price but convenient as you head out for the day. American Bar was fabulous. Paulo?? Was an amazing drink master. Well worth visiting. Front staff again rude at check out (different people) I wouldn't stay there again. Price not worth the hospitalty

Yelp
We went here for our last night in Rome and really enjoyed dinner. The service was great and attentive - filling up our wine and water glasses, and even brought over another napkin when my husband hasn't even noticed he dropped his on the floor. We had the mixed Italian h'orderves for an appetizer, which was a charcuterie board (salami, ham, olives, mushrooms, mozzarella) and it was a great start to the meal. I got the Paccheri Salsiccia di Norcia del Broccoli, which was a light cream/butter sauce with sausage and broccoli and big, thick, perfectly al dente pasta. It was SOOO GOOD! My husband ordered Fettuccine Gamberi Zucchine e Zafferano, which was a pasta with shrimp, zucchini, and saffron. He enjoyed it and didn't leave a scrap on the plate, although he did say he liked mine more. We did not order dessert, as even just melon was 18 euro... so on our walk back to our hotel, we grabbed gelato for a cool 2 euro instead. There was also live music - a man playing the piano and singing, which was a great surprise. Although we didn't get the best table, we still had a great view of the capital. We would highly recommend this place, especially as a way to cap off a trip to Rome. Cheers!

Yelp
The view is incredible for sunset...if you get one of 3 tables that can view it. The service was slow and you have to be very aggressive to snag any of the good tables should they open up. 3 groups that arrived after us all got reseated to the good tables. The drink prices are expensive for sure so I'd come @7/7:30, grab a drink and some pictures then head elsewhere for the evening.

Yelp
Definitely a great place for a dinner date. definitely do get a reservation to secure a table with a great view. the food was good and the service was exceptional. Worth going mostly for the view

Yelp
Food is overtatted and the place is not that great. very expensive for what it is. The place feels like one of those old restaurants. Was empty and the food was really bad. Service was not great and we couldn't even enjoy thr terrace!
