Hotel Forza Mare

We stayed at the Forza Mare hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary and it really was like a second honeymoon. When we arrived at the hotel and shown around, the hotel and the views are just breathtaking. We had room on 3rd floor (one floor above reception), sea view with balcony, waking up each morning to that view was a joy! Really great facilities, lovely spa area and we also got massages which were excellent. Nice private area for sunbathing and access straight into the water - never got tired of that! We had breakfast and lunch which were both really good each time. We didn't have evening meal but the grill station looked great. Good option to borrow bicycles and head into old town Kotor, about 20 mins. All of that was excellent but what really made the difference was the staff, they were excellent, friendly, happy and helpful at all times. From the original booking and being really responsive to questions, arranging transport from Dubrovnik, receiving paddle boards that we hired, giving local advice... and more. Huge thanks to the team for making our stay so memorable, we hope to return soon! Oh, and the Kotor cable car was excellent and the alpine coaster is an absolute must!! Get the fast pass to avoid queue!

We had the most wonderful family vacation in Kotor in August 2025, and we owe it all to this amazing hotel. Everything was perfect — peaceful, comfortable, and full of joy. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, the breakfast and restaurant were delicious, and the rooms were spotless. We especially appreciated the twice-daily cleaning service — such a thoughtful touch!||The hotel’s private little beach was a dream. We relaxed, swam in the crystal-clear sea, and soaked up the calm atmosphere. You can tell that every detail was carefully planned to make guests feel at home.||We’re already counting down the days until we can come back again!

Forza Mare is a lovely hotel. We had a large room on floor one just outside the breakfast and yet it was quiet and the beds are comfortable. Bathroom shower has sufficient pressure and the window opens slightly to dry swimwear. They have an amazing breakfast plenty of choices and mimosas! The jacuzzi overlooking the bay was a treat! Darko at the desk is the most efficient helpful and friendly person. We loved all the staff but he stood out helping with bags booking taxis and giving advice on what restaurants to try. Highly recommend

We spent three blissful days here as the first stop on our Montenegro holiday.|It’s one of the most lovely hotels I have ever stayed. It was perfect for me and my teenager daughter and me as a base to explore Kotor but also relax. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we felt really welcome and well looked after. The private beach was wonderful for some serenity. Lots of lovely restaurants to walk to as well.

“Forza Mare” is a small, charming boutique hotel — if I am not mistaken, it has only 8 rooms — and its greatest asset is without a doubt the exceptional service. The people here truly make the place!!! Draco and Diana, thank you for everything — your kindness and attentiveness were above and beyond. The hotel also has a small, private beach, which really adds to the overall experience, especially on hot summer days. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of high-quality offerings, beautifully presented and delicious. However, it is worth noting that the hotel is not suitable for guests who are not in good physical shape. There are many stairs in every direction and no elevator, so accessibility can be a challenge. As for the room — we were given the “Venezia” room, which, to their credit, was the one we requested and they clearly made an effort to accommodate us. While it did offer a sea view, the room was very small and unfortunately not to our taste at all. One issue that detracted from the otherwise serene atmosphere was a late-night party in the hotel restaurant during our last night, which went on into the early hours without any warning. It was far too loud and disrupted the sense of peace the hotel otherwise strives to offer. All in all, the warmth of the staff and the care they put into everything left a positive impression, but there are a few points worth considering before booking.

Great location. Peaceful and away from the city noise yet just an easy 8 minute drive to town. Parking is included which is a nice plus. The spa can be reserved for private use in one hour slots, just be sure to let the staff know in advance. If you’ve arranged a private boat tour, there’s a dock right at the hotel for convenient pick-up and drop-off. The main downside was the food which was quite mediocre. You’re definitely paying for the view rather than the dining experience. I’d strongly recommend choosing another spot for lunch or dinner.

Restaurant is an over priced tourist trap con. AVOID They list a “burger” on their menu, but what they provide is not a burger - they do not have any bread baps, they literally just give you the meat patty. That’s it. Nothing else. A single beef burger patty on a plate. This cost €19. This is not a burger. Chips were separate and were €6. Complete rip off. The apparent justification for this is that they are trying to make things fancy and refined - it’s a flipping burger! My partner’s food was also bland and had a hair in it. Would never return.

We loved our time at Forza Mare. At only 10 rooms this is a classic boutique hotel - the room itself was lovely and we were lucky enough to have a balcony looking out to Kotor bay. Food was consistently excellent - breakfast is buffet style but with a wide choice of things made fresh by the chef. We had one lunch and dinner and were impressed by both, the wine list was excellent. Ultimately the service was stand out - the staff are brilliant, attentive and friendly. I’m very grateful for the help planning out our days and making our trip to Montenegro so relaxing.
