We love the town and the place itself. Staff are so nice, they make sure that we know all the needed information before arriving that is very useful. Food are delicious and affordable. The room is very clean and warm.

I stayed here for one night as part of an organized tour. The wood-paneled room was cozy and rustic, and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I especially appreciated the two big, comfy pillows on each bed; most hotels I've been to only provide one flat pillow per person. The harbor is right outside the guesthouse, bringing a refreshing breeze from the waters. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Lovely location with a nice view. The hotel itself is actually very nice with a wooden finish. The staff are all very friendly and try their best given the limited staff working there. While the room was very nice. The bathroom wasn’t the best. The shower curtain consistently blows onto your skin while showering which is not hygienic at all. I doubt it’s washed every time. That’s the only complaint I would have. The breakfast for 2800 ISK 28 (CAD) was definitely not worth it. Other hotels charge less and includes hot dishes. This was continental. A plus is they serve cod liver oil and breakfast which was nice :)

We had to stop in this hotel as they closed the main road through the east fiords. The hotel was not cheap, but the room was confortable and clean. There was coffee and tea, and a boiler. No fridge and no TV. The man at the reception was overworked, (as many tourist arrived there at the same time when they realised the road was closed) and he was very helpful.|The only missing thing in the room was the fridge an the TV, and may be for the price we paid, breakfast should have been included.|It's located in a lovely village that deserves a visit.

I'm Icelandic visiting this hotel, not sleeping but wanted a few beers. I went in there and asked him around if there were any other bars around, the bartender said there was but it wasn't open and he was the only one with some beers around at that time. He offered me tap beer and i bought 2. Next thing you can hear is him opening bottled beer in the back and pouring it in glasses, not even hiding it!!! And serving me 2 "tap beers". After i finished up i went to buy 1 more he tells me the tap is closed and he can only sell me takeaway bottled beer for 1.5x the price of "tap beer"?!? It is the most scam tactic i've seen in my life here in my country, straight up lying to me and trying to dig into my pockets for tap beer that doesn't exist, and trying to sell me bottled beer for 1.5x the price it was previously, because it's take away. (4x the price it costs in vinbudin "state liquor store") Then found out the next day that there was indeed 2 bars open at the same time, but he resisted telling me because that would be potentially lost profit. I find it hilarious and disgusting that people in my country are scamming tourists out of their money, and they don't even care because tourists for them are one-time money maker, that they won't ever meet again. If you read this, find another hotel or something, or sleep in a tent. Our wildlife is more kind to you then the people that run this place. Have a nice day!

Would have surely given Excellent rating but for the limited breakfast spread. The main building is close to the harbour and over 100 years old but restored & maintained beautifully. We stayed in a modern apartment with all the amenities, about 100M away and liked it very much

The hostel is very centrally located, not far from the hotel, directly opposite the pool of the place. The rooms are simple and perfectly fine. Only a few rooms share a common room, so here is enough opportunity to cook for yourself. However, we did without and went to one of the restaurants that are available in Djupivogur. The hotel staff was very friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was a bit expensive, but worth the price - there were a lot of different dishes and local specialties. Highly recommended.

Great location to see northern lights. Could use a northern lights service and an option for feather free pillows and blankets. A reminder to check the radiator upon arrival would be helpful. My weren't already on so the room was a bit chilly. Food is good at hotel restaurant. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean but could use updating.
