Our family experienced a wonderful stay at the Hotel Francisco in Madrid. It starts with a beautiful entrance off the street to this lovely modern designed boutique hotel. The staff at the front desk are very professional and courteous. A special thanks to Laura for working through some unexpected challenges at check in. The service from the entire staff was superb and continued throughout our stay. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was outstanding and provided a great way to start our days. The location was great for us and provided convenient access to everywhere we wanted to go. I can highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay at the magical city of Madrid.

We stayed there from the 11th of June up to 16th June. Location-wise, this hotel is great. Few minutes away from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor; we were able to stroll every day to these iconic landmarks.|The breakfast menu is good and 4 hrs from 07 00 am to 11 00 am for breakfast is good in my opinion. I upgraded to a room with terrace (5 days = Euro 350) but then regretted it after a day. The terrace does not offer any privacy. It is just a standard room with terrace. You get good views even from the rooms with balcony. |Our room was on the 6th floor. From the 6th floor, you do not get a good view of the streets. The lady at the cafetaria was very nice, friendly and kind. |One thing also that i did not appreciate is that the receptionist let a taxi driver come meet us while we were having breakfast. believe we should have been contacted first. Sending the lady at the café our greetings from Mauritius. We shall choose this hotel again when we visit Madrid in a few years.

This was our first time in Madrid, and the Hotel Francisco was an excellent place to spend it. We were there for two weeks, and everything about the hotel was wonderful. It’s a perfect location. Overall, the entire place has a modern, clean look. There is a small lobby with an adjacent lounge with a bar and snacks. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. One night my wife went down to the lounge after closing to ask if she could get some tea, and the bartender (Mai) set her up with a tray with a small electric kettle, pot, mug, and tea bags to take to the room. There is a great breakfast buffet with a complete selection of choices. They’ll even make eggs to order if you ask. If we go back to Madrid, we will stay there again. Highly recommended.

Great location in the heart of Madrid with plenty of dining options around. The hotel was clean, and the room was spacious. Fantastic breakfast in a lovely and elegant restaurant. Great bar and friendly front desk staff. The housekeeping ladies were extremely polite and always smiling. The air con was good and quiet. |Downsides: no kettle in the room. Toiletries were not replenished during our 3 nights stay. There was no bottled water in the room. Stained sheets. |For the price, this could be improved.

This hotel is a gem! The location cannot be more central. It is modern and our room was very nice. However, you’d better sleep with the window closed (and AC on) as the street below can be noisy during the night. Apart from that the breakfast is very good. I would have appreciated a little bit more choices of teas and bread but otherwise there is a large diversity of food. We will definitely go back there next time we are in Madrid. Do not bother to book the pickup at the airport, it is not the hotel shuttle but regular taxi. We booked it but the experience was not good.

This lovely hotel was nicely situated in a central location. It was situated on a pedestrian-only street full of restaurants and stores. It's a short walk to Plaza Mayor, Puerta Del Sol, and great shopping on the Grand Via. Our room overlooked the bustling street, but the room was made silent by locking the outdoor shutters and indoor windows. I enjoyed being able to go into the small library to grab a travel guide to peruse in the atrium. The hotel offered a wonderful free breakfast buffet. The staff and hotel were very nice and helpful.

A bright clean welcoming Hotel. every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The lounge and bar area are an oasis of peace and comfort, nothing was too much trouble. they even arranged drinks and snacks for our family whose flight had been delayed.|Great location with plenty of choice for eating and drinking.|Breakfast offered so much choice and was beautifully presented.

Yelp
Do not stay at this hotel. Worst experience of my life. The air conditioning went out in hotel. Our room was upwards of 90 degrees every night. We were unable to sleep. We were told we would have to book a different hotel so we did. The hotel would not offer us a refund and charged us full price. This ruined our trip as we were not able to sleep the first few days. I am not sure why the staff would not warn Guests or assist with changing hotels and offering refunds.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 night during our stay in Madrid (Sept. 16-19) and loved the location. It was close to everything, including the metro stops at both ends of the street. I slept wonderfully and the shower was a dream. Having the terrace window open while showering with the sun coming up was an experience I won't soon forget. It was also perfect that the Chocolateria de San Gines was right around the corner. We paid about 860 Euro, which I thought was reasonable given that one night at the Four Seasons is easily the same amount. Great experience and worth your stay!

Yelp
The hotel is located in a convenient area, walkable to sites and a metro nearby. We arrived early before check-in and they said we could only check in early if we paid 40 euros. Of course we declined, but they offered to store our luggage until check in, which was nice. The room itself was tiny, but clean. Strong AC, but very weak wifi. There was construction happening on the floor above us with loud banging until around 5/6pm. This was very disturbing as we couldn't even take a nap after our long flight/jet lag. When we asked the front desk about it, all they said was that the construction would end at 5/6pm. They did not offer any other solutions like moving us to a quieter room. The next morning, construction returned at like 8am. So we were rudely awoken by the noise and loud banging. We were informed at check in that our reservation included a free breakfast...Great! However, I was very shocked at checkout that they charged us for the breakfast when they previously informed us that it was free. The breakfast was 18 euros per person. We were in a rush to catch a train, so I couldn't even dispute the issue. We would not have done the breakfast if it wasn't free. I was misinformed and the representative who gave me the wrong information took no responsibility for it. Luckily, we only stayed here one night but just be aware that the customer service here sucks.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location, but not worth the sleepless nights. This is my third night here, one more left, and I have not been able to sleep at all. People are constantly screaming and making a lot of noise on the street. It lasts throughout the night until the morning when the businesses are opening. It's great walking distance from everything, but it was not worth it. I haven't been able to enjoy my trip at all, since I'm just tired the entire time from lack of sleep. Also, I kept having issues with my room key. They finally fixed it today, the day before I leave. It has just been a complete inconvenience and I can't wait to leave, go home AND SLEEP!!!!!

Yelp
This hotel is a must if you're in Madrid, they have big rooms and fancy showers. Their breakfast bar insane with so many options! It is confusing at first on how to turn the lights on because you need to plug your hotelcard into a slot to access lights and water. They probably did this to not let bad people have free access to pure luxury. This is just a fantastic hotel!

Yelp
I can't say enough about this amazing little hotel in the middle of the city center. The staff was so service oriented and helped us with so many things. The rooms were beautiful and every detail was thought out. The hotel is charmingly decorated and offered everything one would need. Our room had an incredible outdoor terrace! We traveled to 7 destinations in Spain and even stayed at a 5 star hotel and this was the BEST place we had the pleasure of lodging. Planning a trip to Madrid, stay at the Hotel Fransisco!! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Nice and very clean boutique hotel. Location is A+! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we paid extra for terrace room and its so not worth it! Our friends paid way less for regular room and had a better view, a HUGE bathroom and larger room. Our room was cramped and had a non private bathroom. The bathroom doors were clear and facing the room. How inappropriately weird is that? Who wants your roommate to watch you use the bathroom???? But the staff was very friendly and overall the hotel is beautiful. Just be sure to ask for private bathroom! Unless pooping in front of your friends excites you! Lol

Yelp
You like need to stay here. If I ever come back to Madrid I will stay here again. A solid 5/5. They helped us book a car to get to and from the air port. They even printed our flight and train tickets for us. The room was clean, perfect in size and adorable. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a good size for Europe. I love the glass window with the dark wood shutters. This allowed us to sleep in the middle of the day after flying. You are smack dab in the middle of Madrid so it can get a bit loud on the weekends (just an FYI). We were fine with it. I liked that I could walk or take the metro train to anywhere in the city. It made the exploring of the city super easy. I just love this hotel!

Yelp
I stayed several nights at Hotel Francisco and enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room we had was spacious, modern, clean, affordable and the hotel was located just a short walk from all of the major tourist attractions. Note: The hotel was pretty much in the middle of the tourist district which didn't bother us but bear in mind that it'll almost always be crowded and the street is a pain to drive on so your taxi might drop you off at the closest intersection. There was some renovations going on when I stayed in May and we did hear banging from our fifth (top) floor room. It really didn't bother us too much because it was going on during the morning and we only had to hear it when we first got to Madrid and was resting up before heading out. The rest of the days we were there we headed out early to see and do things so it didn't affect us at all but just bear in mind it may affect you if you're a late sleeper. You should check to see if they're still renovating. The hotel also offers breakfast in their lounge but we didn't partake but it did look good especially if you're looking for more than the typical Spanish breakfast of coffee and a pastry. I believe it was 9 euros per person for the breakfast.

Yelp
I was in Spain for a few days and stayed in different hotels/apartments, Hotel Francisco I was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, bathroom was nice, and it's in a good location. It's on a corner so easy to find. When we checked in the staff noticed I had a birthday coming up and the next day I had a birthday card and balloons in the room. Such a nice gesture. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Very clean place , staff was friendly and caring . Place it's very convenient because is near of everything excellent location . Only thing we didn't like was the space , we understood that it's because of the type of construction in that zone , but other than that I give them a 5 .

Yelp
After a lot of research we ended up with a reservation (weeks ahead of our trip) at the Francisco I. When we arrived after a long trip to town, we were informed by the desk staff that we were not staying at the hotel. No explanation given, even though we asked. They kept telling us that the Hotel Regina is close by and 3 stars, and that was it. It wasn't close by, it was in a different section, one that we specifically tried to avoid, with loud construction and people yelling until 5am. With the fact that we had a reservation that wasn't last minute, they could have given us warning, or even a choice, but instead forced us to stay somewhere we didn't want. To not be given a choice or an explanation is appalling. I will never stay at this hotel and I don't trust them to honor their reservations.

Yelp
Right in downtown. You can walk to everything. A little noisy since it is in the middle of downtown. Rooms were spacious and clean. Friendly staff. I would stay here again and probably will. No frills. They had a free breakfast buffet that was awesome and included in the price.

Yelp
We expected a lot less than what we got in this hotel in the centre of Madrid. I had booked it simply because it was one of the cheapest I could find, and I expected something hostel-like. In fact it was a very nice hotel, rooms recently refurbished, at the same time modern and well-integrated into the old building structure. It's not quiet outside, obviously, with Calle del Arenal being one of the busiests streets in Madrid, but the wooden window shutters are super-thick and will let you sleep well at night. In the double room we stayed in, you need to be very well acquainted with your partner, because all walls and the wardrobe are made of glass (!) and the bathroom, including toilet, is in full view of the bedroom. It's okay if you promise to look the other way, but it's cool design-wise. In fact I couldn't believe it at first and thought there must be some sort of switch to darken the glass, or hidden curtain, but there isn't. Service is very friendly and the breakfast is fine if you like sweet things; if not you may as well not go there because everything on offer is sweet. Fine for us though. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised at the rather unique hotel; I would bet that prices will go up once the modernization is complete though. If you get a room below 70 EUR like we did, it's a sure recommendation. PS: There's no wifi :-( , but LAN access is available.
