Hôtel François Premier Cognac Centre

We stayed at this hotel in Cognac for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful in suggesting dining options and assisting us in arranging local activities. Our room was comfortable, with a great view and all expected amenities. The private parking accommodations were very convenient. Everything we wanted to do in town was within walking distance and even though this hotel faces a busy public square, once the windows are closed at night, it’s very peaceful and quiet. Altogether, a great experience.

Nice hotel in the center of Cognac, renowned Cognac houses are at walking distance. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room is clean and tidy. Breakfast included croissants, fresh juices and decent coffee. I suggest to add grains and seeds as yoghurt topics to the buffet. The small pool area and hammam check the boxes, but don’t expect too much. Overall, very pleasant hotel, kind staff and definitely a recommendation if you stay in Cognac!

The hotel is in a very prominent position situated in the town centre on a very busy roundabout, the traffic noise made sleeping difficult. We chose not to spend much time in the room because of the noise, it was noisy when the windows were closed and then the room was stuffy fresh air was an issue.|The room was clean however the bathroom had some series mould problems and the top of the shower head was thick of dust. I felt the bathroom was not adequately cleaned making me feel uncomfortable. Parking is good and recommended. Hotel staff are nice. The hotel breakfast is recommended lots of choice.|After dinner we called at the hotel bar for drinks requesting two glasses of red wine the first offering was the fag end of an already opened bottle - opened for how long? The barman split this old wine between our two glasses then topped up with wine from a different bottle. I questioned him and insisted politely that I would prefer the wine from one bottle, he was very cross. When I ordered a second glass from his colleague he tried the same trick again. The first barman asked us to leave. With pleasure comes to mind why would I want to stay in place where I'm being taken for a fool. There are plenty of bars to choose from in the vicinity dont go their.|We were recommended to go to La Belle Epoque to eat, unfortunately that evening there was a private function, so no regular chef the food was simply poor, fish not cooked and a plate of processed food. The staff were lovely at the restaurant and changed my food immediately the service was very good. |We were told that the Globe Restaurant is a better choice which is near the hotel. Nice atmosphere.|Unfortunately I won't return.

We arrived at the Hotel de France Cognac greeted by Morgane who was absolutely delightful, welcoming, extremely efficient and so capable- parking for our bikes.Gary also experienced and exceptional Would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Beautiful breakfast. A bonus.

Travelling with family ( including small dog) this nice hotel offered us everything we needed: chic hotel in the city center, very clean, modern facilities. Nice stuff. We would love to come back to this hotel and wonderful Cognac.

Excellent hotel in the centre of Cognac. Great location and everywhere is walkable within the centre.|We arrived quite early and were allowed to park in the car park which is accessed via the large blue door. Surprisingly our room was ready which was a bonus.|The reception staff were helpful and friendly and we received an upgrade to our room. The room was lovely and modern with tea/coffee facilities ( no fridge) and the bed was really comfortable.|Although we overlooked the roundabout we didn’t have any excess noise.|Breakfast was also very good with a great choice of hot and cold food.|Overall, highly recommend this hotel.

What a great hotel! Booked for my wife’s birthday and they gave us a lovely top floor room overlooking the square. Staff were friendly, efficient and very polite when we spoke with them. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice and the 10.00am finish was perfect for a little lie in. First time in Cognac and if we return will certainly be staying here again. A French Hotel with big fluffy bath sheets as well!

We loved the location of the hotel, the excellent air conditioning - it was 35°C when we were there - the friendly and very helpful staff - all staff - and the magnificent bar, which has a huge selection of Cognacs and a super-friendly and efficient barman, Julian. The off street parking was an added perk. We would very happily stay there again.

Wow!!! 5 stars across the board. Great rooms. Comfy beds. Good pillows. Great service from check in to check out. Great recommendations for food. Special thanks to Gary and Thibault. There's a small small pool but it's good enough to relax!!
