Hotel H15 Francuski Old Town (Krakow, Poland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel H15 Francuski has been part of Kraków’s cultural fabric since 1912, the city’s first purpose-built hotel, and once its most modern. It hosted the founding of the Polish Olympic Committee, ferried guests in its own automobile, and drew Kraków’s creative and political elite. Today, its original neoclassical details remain: velvet armchairs, ornate brass, carved wood, and museum-worthy wallpaper, all refreshed with a light contemporary hand. Opposite the Czartoryski Museum and steps from the Barbican, it is a landmark of Kraków’s past, and still one of its most distinctive stays." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely hotel that has kept its 1920’s charm and identity. Great location in Krakow in the old town centre.||Staff were very friendly and welcoming, from the reception staff through to restaurant, bar and house keeping staff.||Breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. Menu items were cooked to order. When having to leave earlier than expected for an arranged tour, the breakfast restaurant had only just opened (07:00). We were offered ‘breakfast boxes’ that enabled us to select from the buffet and take with us.||Dinner was excellent, well prepared, presented and very tasty. The staff paid us good attention and without going over the top!||Bedroom was comfortable and in keeping with the early 1920’s. Comfortable bed and fully stocked mini bar. Good quality towels and robes were available too.||Couldn’t fault the hotel and the service we received. If you want a standard mass produced corporate hotel chain, this is not the place for you. However, if you want excellent service, amazing food and a central location with echoes of the past, then this is for you.

Perfect location in the old town, walking distance to the sights, shops, local restaurants. Very friendly staff all around (front desk, in the breakfastroom, housekeeping) Breakfast is plenty and very well laid out, extra items are cooked to order which were very good. Old world charm feeling in the hotel which was lovely...

My parents had a 4 night stay here. They had the most wonderful time. They were given a complimentary room upgrade and drinks voucher as this was a celebratory holiday for them which was a wonderful bonus. The breakfast was fantastic with lovely choices. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. They felt they couldn't have stayed in a better hotel. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff too for the great hospitality.

The good, old hotel in the center of Krakow. Close to important monuments. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the staff is friendly. The bathroom lacks better toiletries and hand and body cream – this could be improved.

Amazing old world style hotel. Front desk personnel as well as concierge were extremely friendly and helpful. Very close to center of Krakow -easy to walk to all main attractions. Beds were comfortable.upon check in we received a complementary glass of champagne. |There was a fitness room consisting of a treadmill and stepper as well as some free weights and bands. |Only con was the AC would not cool below 22 C but it was over 90 F outside so it was still very comfortable|In the room.

If you are looking for unmatched luxury in the most convenient location in Krakow this hotel should be your number one choice. The rooms are spacious and beautifuly furnished. This is probably the third hotel where cleanliness was impeccable, (the other two are the Ritz and the Four Seasons). The rooms have everything that you will need as a traveler in a foreign city- a hair dryer and toiletries, sans lotion, a mini fridge, a safe and a desk, which for me is important as I was still working remotely. Wifi is fast and easy to connect to. The location is perfect, close to all the most sought after exhibits, restaurants, stores and clubs, yet quietly tucked away where crowds will never disrupt your sleep in some of the most comfortable beds I have had the pleasure sleeping in. The bathrooms are huge and done to perfection, with a huge tub and a shower with great water pressure, which is a luxury in most European cities. The highlight of our visit has to be the staff though. The hotel employees are knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and effective. They will answer all of your questions and concerns in a most professional manner. What I really loved is how protective the staff were over my children and I. We were treated like family rather than paying clients. Again, the hotel's location is perfect and you are within walking distance to anything your heart desires, including breakfast, however I recommend getting the breakfast at least once over your stay. It is an experience, not just a meal. I cannot recommend Hotel Francuski enough, as it not only met but exceeded all of my expectations. I am beyond impressed with this establishment. The five stars I am giving it do not do it justice. Thank you Hotel Francuski for making our trip so memorable.

Stayed for a weekend break. Warm welcome and glass of bubbly on arrival. Room suited our needs, air conditioning much appreciated. Only problem was the shower screen which didn’t seem to hold back the water. Slept well. Breakfast, there was plenty to choose from. Didn’t use the restaurant and it was a shame the bar wasn’t open. Pool table in the middle of a fabulous grand entrance a bit random. Big shout out to Michali (apologies for spelling if it’s wrong) who was very informative, arranged our trip to the salt mines and arranging a ‘carry out breakfast’ when we had an early start to go to Auschwitz. Overall a great stay.

I had a very enjoyable stay last month at the Hotel Francuski. The room that I booked was quite spacious and included both a decent sized hotel room with an attached pull-out sofa with additional TV and coffee table as well as powder room. (Only small complaint is that each part required a hotel key in the slot for electricity and I only had one. I didn't ask though which I could have.) The staff was quite friendly at all times greeting you as you came and went. The breakfast was delicious with many choices and again included a very friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was quiet and well located. I did report an issue to Expedia who advertised the room as "city view" which it was not and in speaking to the hotel none of their rooms really offer such a view.

Yelp
Came here for dinner (didn't stay at the hotel), so this review is for the restaurant only. The food was outstanding - wasn't 100% sure of what I ordered when I ordered it, but our soups were delicious and hearty (my wife had chicken noodle, I had some kind cold, pink beet soup). The entrees were HUGE, and put from the bowls they were cooked in onto our plates right in front of us at the table. I had a beef shank in broth, which was tender and flavorful, and I was especially impressed with the vegetables that came along with it. Wow. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pork chop with cabbage, too. No room for dessert. This place was recommended by the gentleman who drove us from the airport to our hotel, and we're sure glad we went.
