Hotel H15 Francuski Old Town (Krakow, Poland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel H15 Francuski has been part of Kraków’s cultural fabric since 1912, the city’s first purpose-built hotel, and once its most modern. It hosted the founding of the Polish Olympic Committee, ferried guests in its own automobile, and drew Kraków’s creative and political elite. Today, its original neoclassical details remain: velvet armchairs, ornate brass, carved wood, and museum-worthy wallpaper, all refreshed with a light contemporary hand. Opposite the Czartoryski Museum and steps from the Barbican, it is a landmark of Kraków’s past, and still one of its most distinctive stays." - Tablet Hotels

Just back from four nights at this lovely hotel. It’s perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful main square and about ten minutes walk from the station. ||The staff are very friendly and helpful and the twins in the dining room so smiley and charming! ||The hotel is the first purpose built hotel in Krakow, so very classic and elegant. Our room was quite dark due to the carpet and dark furniture but it was very comfortable and clean. Bed very comfortable too and lovely pillows. ||The bathroom amenities are Lalique so no need to take your own shampoo etc. as they were very nice. ||Breakfast was very good, à la carte eggs in a choice of ways and a cold buffet selection too. The best pickled cucumbers ever! ||Overall a lovely hotel.

Had an excellent stay here. We had a double deluxe room on the second floor. The hotel does have a lift, but the stairs are just something else. You have to check out the hotels pictures, it’s something out of a movie! They have a pool table in the hotel lobby area which we played in several times, well serviced by the bar or the restaurant either side or the lobby. Breakfast , which was in our room rate, was served in the restaurant, a great looking eggs Benedict, but a warning, they used a strong truffle ham! We did not take diner in the hotel so cannot comment here. Our room was very much 1920’s with refurbished Bakelite light switches and poker outlets, if you’re over 50 you will understand what I mean! The bed was fantastically comfortable (I have a lower back issue) and I slept as well as I do in my own bed. Our room (201) had connected small salon room and a tiny balcony. Usual coffee and tea equipment and mini bar. All in all a great stay, we will be returning as our son has relocated there for Love and work. We both wanted to mention Krzysztof, the concierge. He was engaging and charming and possibly the main reason we are leaving this review. Over all a lovely hotel, and lovely people running it.

We visited the hotel for the Sunday brunch on November 9th 2025 to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was an absolutely perfect experience. The staff were very friendly, attentive and professional, always making sure that everything ran smoothly. The hot dishes were delicious and constantly replenished, there was fresh bread, fruit and great cakes, and the coffee was always hot and fresh.||The room was beautifully decorated with balloons, garlands and table decorations, creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere where both children, parents and grandparents felt comfortable. As a wonderful surprise, my wife received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a personal letter from the hotel, which made the day truly unforgettable. One of our guests from Denmark, whose daughter is a well-known pastry chef, even said the birthday cake was outstanding.||We left with big smiles on our faces and will definitely be back for another Sunday brunch. Highly recommended – five stars from us. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely hotel nice and quiet, away from the main square with many restaurants and shops near if needed by walking. |Good breakfast with selection of hot or cold buffet. |Large spacious room with all amenities we were upgraded on arrival for our visit as was a special occasion for us. Lovely gesture, thank you to the management. Cleaned to a high standard daily. Very comfortable. |Super friendly staff and very helpful with all local information. |Beautiful interior decor, clean and welcoming hotel. |Great location within the Old Town, within walking distance to the square. |We’d definitely stay here again if visiting Krakow.

I expected a 5 stars hotel, but I guess stars are different stars in Krakow. My single room was tiny and bedding was not very comfortable. But the front desk was very accommodating and I was moved to a bigger room with decent linens. However the room walls are very thin and I could hear people in the next room snoring at night and having sex early morning. But location is central to the old town.

Central location, easily walkable to everything in town, relatively cheap. There was a bit of a long wait to check-in on a Sunday afternoon. My card stopped working half-way through my stay (which staff fixed quickly). The room was clean and very old-world charm similar to the whole hotel.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Despite a couple of issues I don’t feel that I can give it any less than 5 stars. I booked a deluxe room and since booking they had changed the classification of their rooms and we were placed in a classic room. I did not realise this until the evening of our 4th night. They did offer to move us but it did not seem worth it for just over 24 hours. I did request a refund as I thought that was reasonable give that I had paid additional to the classic room rate. They did say that I should have mentioned this on arrival and I would have been moved but although I did not think the room represented a deluxe I did not wish to say anything. Compensation payment was agreed. Additionally if you are allocated Room A001 I would request a move. It’s a disabled bedroom with wetroom shower and if you are not in a wheelchair or using the seats in the shower the tiled floor is lethal and not anti-slip. We did mention this to the hotel.||Despite these issues we loved the hotel. A few minutes walk from the main square. Staff were friendly, professional and polite. The hotel has a nice spa area with a small but adequate gym. The pool is small but I had a lengthy swim in it on the day that I had time to use it. There is also a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Jacuzzi was not as warm as I would have liked. Breakfasts are amazing and includes everything you could think of and hot options were available to order. I would recommend and would not hesitate to return if I return to Krakow. I would advise if you have an issue with your room then mention this as soon as possible as o am sure they would move you if they were able to.

Lovely hotel that has kept its 1920’s charm and identity. Great location in Krakow in the old town centre.||Staff were very friendly and welcoming, from the reception staff through to restaurant, bar and house keeping staff.||Breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. Menu items were cooked to order. When having to leave earlier than expected for an arranged tour, the breakfast restaurant had only just opened (07:00). We were offered ‘breakfast boxes’ that enabled us to select from the buffet and take with us.||Dinner was excellent, well prepared, presented and very tasty. The staff paid us good attention and without going over the top!||Bedroom was comfortable and in keeping with the early 1920’s. Comfortable bed and fully stocked mini bar. Good quality towels and robes were available too.||Couldn’t fault the hotel and the service we received. If you want a standard mass produced corporate hotel chain, this is not the place for you. However, if you want excellent service, amazing food and a central location with echoes of the past, then this is for you.

Yelp
Came here for dinner (didn't stay at the hotel), so this review is for the restaurant only. The food was outstanding - wasn't 100% sure of what I ordered when I ordered it, but our soups were delicious and hearty (my wife had chicken noodle, I had some kind cold, pink beet soup). The entrees were HUGE, and put from the bowls they were cooked in onto our plates right in front of us at the table. I had a beef shank in broth, which was tender and flavorful, and I was especially impressed with the vegetables that came along with it. Wow. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pork chop with cabbage, too. No room for dessert. This place was recommended by the gentleman who drove us from the airport to our hotel, and we're sure glad we went.
