Hotel Franks (Oberstdorf, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"German hoteliers have always excelled at wellness-oriented rural escapes, and the Allgäu’s Frank family is no exception. In Oberstdorf, at the foot of the Alps, Hotel Franks is a classic of the genre — one that’s been updated for the 21st century, but that nevertheless retains the timeless appeal of the classic mountain lodge." - Tablet Hotels

Parkhotel Frank (Oberstdorf, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The congenial hosts of Parkhotel Frank really make their guests feel as though they’re part of the family. The guestrooms here range in style from cosy and rustic to modern and tastefully elegant, while the spa facilities feature a superb "WellÉtage", the glazed "Die Welle" relaxation room and a natural bathing pool in the large, attractive garden. A pleasant walk leads to the "Gruben 1a" café in the Trettach valley (45min)." - Tablet Hotels

Magical holiday! Great location, outstanding service, extraordinary restaurant/food and beverage, amazing spa, the utmost attention to every detail throughout the stay. The staff is extremely professional, always kind and efficient at the front desk. The restaurant is exceptional, delicious gourmet food, beautiful presentation and the best service, always going above and beyond expectations. The wine list is fabulous with an especially great representation of fantastic local wines. The possibility of enjoying nature and tranquility in the spectacular location is limitless while trekking, biking, running or relaxing poolside. The spa facilities are impeccable and the services excellent. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Franks in a new design - very well done. Food and Service is excellent, also the choices of wine - very good. Prices are decent. Gluten free „Semmel“, which was excellence, was a highlight besides all the excellent food. After all I question why the family member Mrs Frank needs to act as a seater instead of greeting guests once seated - that way, she circumvents being asked to bring some water - since this seems to be not her destiny. All in all 4, instead if 5 stars, because of Mrs Frank. Will visit again however.

We stayed two weeks in this hotel, and enjoyed every minute of it. Since our previous stay two years ago the hotel has acquired a new chef, who took the food to a five-star level. The evening buffet has surprised us every night for its original but very tasteful combination of ingredients. It's hard to find any fault with the hotel : friendly personnel always ready to help you, clean and nice rooms (with mountain view), underground parking, nice garden. The dining room (also used for breakfast) is at the same time wellcoming and luxurious. The owners of the hotel also make an habit of making small talk with all their guests. This makes for a relaxed athmosphere where you feel at home. Very well located near the center of town, but without nuisance from traffic. We haven't used any of the wellness facilities or swimming pool, but they look the part.||Recommended.

We stayed here just after new year on something between a long weekend and a proper holiday.||The exceptional: the service level of the staff is truly exceptional, and I have yet to experience such a high level in Germany. The support staff go above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible, without it being put on, too much or coming across as affected. This clearly comes from the top down: being a family-owned hotel, the willingness to make each experience enjoyable is clear and palpable from the owners.||Another great touch was on our last day, having settled up and left the hotel, we found that our travel plans had been badly affected by inclement weather. The hotel staff were very accommodating and the daughter of the owners kindly drove us 20km to the nearest station. We both thought this was a wonderful touch, and was offered in a very uncomplicated way. ||The great: the food is excellent (we opted for the Gourmet menu), and does not leave you bloated or stuffed afterwards. Compliments to the chef who is an especially talented with concocting new delicacies at the salad buffet. The spa area was also excellent, and we enjoyed the generously sized swimming pool and sauna area. I would recommend couples go later in the evening to avoid being ‘disturbed’ by children playing in the pool (the hotel is extremely family friendly and thus also attracts families). The hotel organized daily activities, and we joined one of the walks. It was led by the very knowledgeable Andi, who we also understand is a “sauna expert”. I now go into the sauna with supreme confidence about what I’m doing and why :-)||The good: the room (classic) was a nice size and we were very comfortable. The decor is very classical (I.e. alpine style), which I very much like but is admittedly not for everyone. The hotel is very very clean. ||The bad: the only black mark in the whole experience was the WiFi in our room and in one of the communal rooms. We were unable to use it for most of our stay, whilst the hotel staff tried diligently to fix it. The hotel building blocks out much cellphone reception, so we had to rely on the WiFi. They offered many helpful solutions, but we were ultimately inconvenienced as we also needed to do some work. The hotel were very understanding, and compensated for our troubles in a very fair way. ||Overall: No bad feelings about the minor inconveniences and an overall exceptional experience. Easy 5 stars. |

This a very elegant hotel. The staff is extremely accommodating. Suzanne at the reception desk is a jewel! We stayed in room 64, and we did not want to leave. The balcony on the room had breathtaking views in every direction. The room furnishings were upscale, yet comfortable. The restaurant served excellent food and the restaurant staff was outstanding.

We were blown away with this hotel - in every way. Comfortable, spacious, superb staff, delicious food, amazing spa and excellent room.||Well located for a short walk into town and a short drive to a variety of ski locations.||Fantastic buffet breakfast, highly helpful and attentive staff.||From the moment we arrived to the moment of departure the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Honestly one of the best hotels for a superb all-round experience anywhere.
