Hotel Frieden is an excellent choice, if you look for the price - comfort ratio! Immediately after booking I received a very kind e-mail from Marc - the owner of the hotel, where he provided all required information. He is very polite and proactive person, who offers his help and support, if you need any information about Davos. The hotel is located just in the center of Davos, 300 meters away from the railway station. If you need parking, just reserve a place in front of the hotel for 10CHF/day. If you need restaurant suggestions, Marc can recommend a few nice places. One of the restaurants is just 5-7 minutes away on foot. When we arrived at 10:30 our room was already cleaned and prepared to check in. The room we stayed (#10) is the one with twin beds and shared bathroom. All hotel areas are impeccably clean. The bed was comfy with very soft pillows. The breakfast is served from 8 to 9:30. It is excellent! You may for sure find something for yourself: cereals, a few types of ham, cheese, boiled eggs, croissants, jam, yogurt, fruits, tea, coffee, etc. We have got Davos cards, which give a discount, for example, for cable car (you pay 6CHF instead of 18!) The only thing you have to worry about is to bring cash, because the hotel does not accept credit or debit cards.

This was my 7th year staying with Marc and his mom Silvie they are amazing hosts. ||From the minute you arrive, always getting a personal greeting, to when you leave, again getting a personal send off, they can never do enough for you. ||The rooms (and beds) are comfortable bright and fresh, basic as the hotel is really catering for the ski industry. ||The location is perfect 3 mins walk from Davos Platz station and 5 mins walk from the Jocobshorn cable car and ski lifts. ||There is parking next to the hotel which is perfect. ||To conclude I can totally recommend the Hotel Frieden as a great place to stay in Davos especially if you want to stay away from the opulence of the big very expensive hotels. ||

This is great place to stay in Davos. Affordable, clean, friendly hotel owner named Marc Jecklin whom will be be attentive to your needs during your entire stay. Room is really comfortable with all the basic amenities a traveler will need. Would recommend to others to stay with Marc and his mom.

I booked a trip with my son and my parents. Hotel Frieden looked like goid value and had goid reviews. However, it has been renovated since a lot of photos here and looks a lot nicer.|The best thing though is the family who run it. Marc was so unbelievably helpful. By breakfast the first morning he knew all out names, gave restaurant recommendations, and even got my parents a nicer room.|I would recommend this place very highly.

I spite of the shut down we had a nice stay at this hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff. Tables were available in the once restaurant, where guest could bring their meals. An excellent pizza takeaway is right next to the hotel. Also it is close to the railroad station and to the town center.

Wonderful hosts, albeit a little expensive like much if Switzerland. They provided very good options for vegetarians after I requested then for the same. They had healthy options milk, cheese, fruits and vegetables with bread and croissants everyday. Towels were changed when requested, the location is convenient and charming being at great proximity to the Davos Platz station. The bathroom and toilet was shared but kept very clean. Personal wash basin in your room. Common balcony with great views. Very quiet in the nights and easy to locate yourself as it is at the foot of a tall church that's visible easily from any location in town. Just behind Frieden at a short walk start many mountain trails and a stream. Wonderful evenings strolling through. You can alternatively go down the river for a long walk. The cable car jakobshorn is very close and so is the schtazalp cable car. Spar and Migros supermarkets very close. Very friendly hosts and an excellent stay! Totally recommend!

By sheer bad luck most of Davos was fully booked out for an Alpine Ski event whilst we were there. Although this did have the added bonus of lots of street events going on. Our daughter had a pony ride and we enjoyed the street food and general atmosphere. ||||This was the only place I could find that had a room, was affordable for Switzerland and close to the railway station, which we needed for the next morning. This place fitted the bill in all three aspects - especially the closeness to the railway station. The trains in fact go right past your window here! Good job we were close-by, as the Glacier Express left 20 minutes early the next day with no warning.||||Our ground floor room was a great size, had free fast Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV. If we're being really picky, the minus points are that you can hear street noise (thankfully it ends after a while), church bells from the church right next door and the curtains don't block out the street light right outside the room.||||The breakfast the next morning was a basic continental affair, but acceptable. Your best bet for food outside of breakfast time is the Co-Op mini market on the high street which had a very well stocked selection of snacks and drinks. Switzerland was for us the most eye-wateringly expensive place on the planet.||||Now to our 'Landlady' story! Even though our front door was locked from the inside, she attempted to come into our room at 8am whilst my wife was taking a shower!! Didn't even knock. I have no idea why. No apology from her or explanation either. We found her a nice lady but a bit needy and didn't speak much English. On the way checking out she said "you will give good review, right?" pointing to a sign for Booking.com which smacked a bit of desperation after walking in on us.

It is a good place to stay for those coming for skiing. The owner is really friendly and caring. She does not speak English but we could understand each other. Her son speaks English though. Breakfast was tasty. The hotel is clean, cosy, and only a few minutes away from Jakobshorn lift. I would go there again next year.
