Hotel Friedheim

Breakfast was a perfect 10, with fresh orange juice, delicious mountain cheese, and many other local products. Having it on the terrace with such a breathtaking view was absolutely enchanting. The hotel is set in a quiet area with plenty of parking. The view is truly majestic, and the rooms are very spacious. It was an unforgettable stay!

Ate at the restaurant, did not stay at the hotel. Food is excellent- with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, in October this was deer (excellent), guinea fowl, porcini, chestnuts, etc. Service was attentive and friendly. Execution was excellent. Wine suggestions by the glass were very good. Highly recommended

The hotel consists of an old part (beautiful style) and a new part (modern) with restaurant and large terrace. We stayed in the new part, with our own terrace. Both the hotel and the surroundings are wonderful 😍: the tranquility, the view of the lake and the great food: three stars is too little for what you get! The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quit, special place. Weggis is a 10-minute walk away and the boat takes you everywhere. Our dog was also along, and she too enjoyed herself!

Second time in this wonderful hotel and will come again. Friendliest service, excellent food and wine list. Huge thanks to Tanja and Hugo! Best view in Weggis for dining! Rooms are super clean, comfortable beds. Overall, a hidden gem!

Our 3 night stay at Hotel Friedheim had its ups and downs. Although we were charged for the kids, the lack of extra blankets and pillows for the sofa bed made it disorganized and uncomfortable for sleeping. The excessive dust on the wood floors also left us questioning the overall cleanliness (even though we were on the new part of the hotel) The pricing of the loft apartment seemed unjustified for the amenities provided, and the remote location required a car for most activities except for the nearby lake. We were taken aback by the unexpected 10 franc charge for tap water!!! Furthermore, the breakfast lacked variety, and there was an instance when our suite was missing certain food items. While the male servers were very friendly and helpful, the issues with cleanliness, uncomfortable sofa bed, and pricing overshadowed these positive aspects

Greatest restaurant in Weggis - really star-food to a normal price. Unique herbes with the food. Wonderful terrace outside with mountain view and also in winter inside a super-nice athmosphere! Thanks to Tanja & Hugo

We arrived at 17:20 to find reception closed and the building in which it was located locked up.||This building also housed the bar and restaurant; also closed, despite being told that they were fully available seven days per week.||Apparently all three are closed every Tuesday and Wednesday.||This would be acceptable if we were booking a CHF 50 a night hostel, but this was a CHF 275 a night hotel.||In all our years of travelling, were have never experienced this before.||Then, after finding the key on an outside table, the room were were allocated was nothing like the rooms shown on the web site we booked through. The building was old, smelt of decay and was in serious need of renovation. The furniture was old, smelt and there was no AC.||We might not have minded so much if we had been asked to pay a reasonable rate, but this was a premium rate room that was nowhere near premium.||Although we originally intended to stay four days, we checked out immediately the next morning a found a far better hotel at a similar rate a kilometre away, right on Lake Lucerne.||To be avoided . . .|||||

Exceptional hotel,incredible view of the lake and snow capped mountains with easy walks all around, breakfast was superb, rooms clean and modern, Hugo and his staff were all friendly and helpful.

OK food and atmosphere, but they try to rip you off when the check comes. For example, $10 for a couple of tap waters. Get serious! Stay away!

Immediate and complete infatuation with the food at Hotel Friedheim - besides the absolutely killer view of Lake Lucerne. All six of us had something different and each meal was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and expertly served. Sauces were genius! Hollandaise with the perch - exquisite! Rack of lamb perfection! Lobster with accompanying wild rice - to die for. Am planning an all girls trip to Europe next year - this is a definite stop!! The best meal of my life!
