The hotel is just inside the walls of the city, and within walking distance to the city, and having the first guests only a few years back. It used to be an old prison, now converted with taste to a very nice hotel, retaining as much as possible the ambience and features of the building, including bars on windows, original prison doors to the rooms (including hatch), gates in corridors, tiling where possible. The rooms are all different, comfortable, with original features, as Peter, one of the owners, explained to us. He even cared to show us around the building. He was extremely helpful.||The room and the place were very clean, well kept, and a pleasure to be in. Breakfast was also very good, with a good variety of food. A free bottle of water was offered free of charge in the room.||The only 'fault' I can find is that the hotel does not have a lift. Otherwise very good. ||I would definitely recommend the hotel - for its uniqueness, excellent service, cleanliness and proximity to the centre.
