The hotel Fruela is within walking distance of the train station with a small case on wheels. As has been said check in is at their sister hotel which is almost opposite. There is water for clients just inside the main entrance which is a nice touch. Staff are pleasant and check in is quick.|The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. There’s a mini bar and spacious cupboard and plenty of charging points. The bathroom is compact and there are two shower heads, neither were very good and tended to splash the floor if not careful with the water pressure. This definitely needs replacing. Lighting is bright. The restaurant downstairs owned by the same family serves small but delicious food. I was left a bottle of wine by my agency which came from their restaurant and it was excellent. I shared it with a couple who happened to be on the same train as well as in this hotel. The hotel is perfectly located and within walking distance of the old town, the Cathedral, shops and restaurants. I would stay here again.

We recently stayed in the so-called suite that was barley a master bedroom. The hotel reception is located on the opposite side of the street, very unpractical if you are travelling with many luggage, they should inform the travellers in advance to avoid any inconvenience. The accommodation is poorly maintained i.e. broken bathroom flush and the sink was blocked. Very bad experience!!

Clean, but a rancid or musty smell. Horrible shower, no pressure at all. Beds we comfy. NO safety box. No complimentary coffee or tea. Even though, the customer service was excellent, it is inconvenient, as it has to be done at the hotel across the street. Also, paid parking is about two blocks away, and in subfloor, likely the last one (number -3) and NO elevators, strong urine smell all the way up.

The Fruela Hotel in Oviedo is very well located — just steps from Plaza del Fontán, the market, the cathedral, sculptures, and plenty of cafés and restaurants. It’s a great spot if you want to explore the city’s main attractions on foot. That said, the hotel itself could use some TLC. The shower had very low water pressure, and the air conditioning only worked properly when set to 18°C. There’s no in-room safe for valuables, the locking mechanism on the door was a bit tricky, and the room had a musky smell — likely due to the age of the building. Check-in is handled at the adjacent hotel, which wasn’t a big issue but worth noting. Also, parking is not included and is located about 2–3 blocks away. Overall, it’s acceptable for a one-night stay if location is your top priority, but there were several small inconveniences that added up.

I stayed on both sides of the street. Great location. (Paid) Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially if your vehicle exceeds 1.85m. The rooms were very good (shower pressure could have been better) and the staff was very kind. Recommended.

Outstanding service; we were actually checked in early - very kind and thoughtful. Room spotless and en suite bathroom cleverly designed to maximise light. Breakfast worth crossing the road for (it’s served in sister hotel) great choice of food and drinks. Good location.

So to be transparent, we started off in a problematic way. The hotel is a boutique hotel and has a sister hotel across the street. There are no receptionist at this hotel. We had to walk to the other hotel to check in. This was a bit odd, in my opinion. The room that was assigned to us , 305, had many issues. The AC did not work, so the room was hot for a day in November. the mini fridge for our meds was broke and the water pressure in the shower was poor. After going back and forth, we were given another room and it was so much better. The room is a typical European size and very minimal, which I don’t mind. It was clean and modern. The beds are very hard and the pillows are flat. The bathroom is comfortable, a stand in shower and a towel warmer , which was a plus. We did have the shower head changed because it was spraying all Over the place. The staff have been attentive. I want to thank Javier for his kindness in assisting my husband the first night. He was having a hypoglycemic episode at 130|Am and Javier got him a croissant and a coke. We were very appreciative. Parking is offsite and is 15euros per night. If you are in a budget but still have strict standards, this is a decent hotel.

We stayed here 5 nights and it was a great stay! The hotel is in a great location and on a quiet street. The air conditioning is great and kept us cool in the Summer. They have blackout curtains which kept out the sun and kept the room cool. The room had a hair dryer and fridge. Taxis are right out front so very convenient getting to and from the airport. Will stay here again!
