The Fruela Hotel in Oviedo is very well located — just steps from Plaza del Fontán, the market, the cathedral, sculptures, and plenty of cafés and restaurants. It’s a great spot if you want to explore the city’s main attractions on foot.
That said, the hotel itself could use some TLC. The shower had very low water pressure, and the air conditioning only worked properly when set to 18°C. There’s no in-room safe for valuables, the locking mechanism on the door was a bit tricky, and the room had a musky smell — likely due to the age of the building.
Check-in is handled at the adjacent hotel, which wasn’t a big issue but worth noting. Also, parking is not included and is located about 2–3 blocks away.
Overall, it’s acceptable for a one-night stay if location is your top priority, but there were several small inconveniences that added up.
