Hotel Fürstenhof

I always choose to stay at the Althoff Hotel Celle whenever I visit for the conference across the road, and it never disappoints. The staff are consistently professional, attentive, and welcoming, which makes every stay smooth and enjoyable. My room has always been quiet and comfortable – ideal for getting a good night’s rest. The breakfast is superb, with a wide selection and excellent quality. It’s a perfect combination of convenience, comfort, and outstanding service, and I look forward to returning on every trip.

Disappointing stay – not up to 5-star standards Of the many 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at, this was unfortunately one of the weakest. Our room smelled damp, almost like a basement, and the window was left ajar on arrival. We had also parked outside but were told late in the evening to move the car. Dinner in the restaurant was acceptable but lacked real flavor. In the end, we decided to leave that evening and drive to Hamburg instead. The hotel was of course within its rights to charge us for the stay, but given the circumstances, a reduced rate would have felt more appropriate.

I booked this hotel expecting a five-star experience (based on their own website), but unfortunately, it fell far short. At best, it should be rated three stars.||The website highlights a beautiful historic building, but that’s not where most guests actually stay. Instead, you’re placed in a dull 1980s annex behind it (see photo), which was quite a letdown and felt misleading.||Worse, during my stay, the hotel was undergoing extensive renovations. Construction noise started early and continued throughout the day, yet when I asked to be moved, I was told all floors were affected—unless I wanted to pay an extra €100 for a suite. That’s not what I expect from a so-called luxury hotel.||Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I wouldn’t return. I think other travelers deserve to know what they’re really getting. This simply isn’t the upscale experience it claims to be.

The only place to stay in Celle, and so close to the Castle, park, French Garden and old town. Rooms are elegant and very well equipped with comfortable beds, crisp white bedlinen, large windows to open, a chair and well equipped bathrooms, shower cabins and excellent shampoos as well. Large tv, safety box and minibar, all in a quiet location. A more than fantastic breakfast with everything you do not need but must have, freshly cooked eggs to you liking, an Italian inspired restaurant with a brilliant cook creaing the most tasty meals. The staff are all so very passionate with what they do, very helpfull and with a smile and they truly love their job. Small garden area and a bar, and space for cars both in a garage or in front of the hotel. . My new home away from home

We stayed one night on our way home from Italy . We hadn’t been told the airconditioning was being renovated so we had an extremely warm night - even though the night temperature was only 15C degrees outside. Had we known we never would have agreed to such an expensive price

The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is top notch.

One of the few hotels we go to that lives up to its rating. The staff are excellent and go over and above to ensure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are very nice, very comfortable and well equipped . The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choices that would cover most tastes , they will even cook some items too. The staff in there too , are also very helpful very pleasant. We cannot speak highly enough of the service we received while we were here

Nice hotel, good location. The old rooms on second floor smelled very very old, and specially the bathroom smelled like dirty cloak (sewer)
