Hotel Gala Placidia

This was our first holiday abroad for 20 years and our first time In Benidorm. The hotel was faultless. We had a balcony room (406) over the pool which was encased in sun late afternoon and early evening. Walls are a little thin, but our sleep wasn’t affected by that. We were all inclusive and enjoyed all the meals each day. We did eat out a couple of times in the old town only because we wanted to try it out, no other reason. We went all inclusive and the drinks offered were absolutely fine, but can understand why people opt for premium package drinks. Didn’t use the snack facilities so cannot comment. Reading comments about the entertainment we just embraced what was on offer and some parts were really fun. If any grievances it was with other guests behaviour not the hotel, but we were in Benidorm after all!!! But most of all the staff were just amazing, especially the restaurant staff, we had good banter with them every day and it was very sad having to say our fair wells the night before we left. The housekeepers and bar staff also fantastic. I hope the Spanish translated message we left in the tip jar in the restaurant made sense to you all. Thank you for the memories 😘

First Spanish holiday, |First night , given wrong room and staff unable/unwilling to change . |Rectified next morning with only an apology . |Breakfast was mediocre , sausages were not anything like "normal" sausages. And the fried eggs were always cold. I knew the food would be different from home but this was disappointing . |The selection of food for breakfast lunch dinner and snacks was better than expected and I certainly did not starve . |Dining staff were friendly, there was a little spanish gentleman ( apologies, but I cannot remember his name ), he was extremely friendly and kind . |Bar staff were amazing especially Antonio and Mary. |The room and hotel was well maintained by the cleaning staff although water pressure was poor for warmer water on 8th floor . |The pools were very clean and welcoming . |The entertainment staff tried their best with the lower preseason numbers , but were friendly throughout , I could not fault them .

Rooms were spotless and spacious. Brilliant air con. The service by all the staff was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Melanie was a great entertainer getting everyone involved. Perfect location with a short walk to the strip but far enough that you can’t hear the strip at night time. Would 100% return.

We arrived late last night, our room initially was very cramped as there are 4 adults in our party, and our room did not have a balcony. |We went to speak with reception this morning who were extremely helpful and understood our concerns. |Within an hour we were offered to move to a different room. |The new room is brilliant, two rooms, a lovely balcony and a big bathroom. |We are very happy and cannot express enough how accommodating the management are in this hotel. |Friendly staff and we feel welcome. |We have come on holiday for my friends 60th birthday and we were worried yesterday that the holiday would be spoilt. However we are now back on track and confident we are going to have a great week. |Food is lovely we cannot fault it and everyone is friendly and chatty which is refreshing.

Hotel - clean , tidy , great air con, beds made daily, fresh towels daily , plenty of sun loungers, pool area lovely ! absolutely 3 star rated.||Entertainment- shocking - zero to none - 7 nights it’s always bingo, I’ve seen a 15 minute parrot show and a magic show other than that nothing , there is a board up which states all these activities , yeah they don’t exist.||Food - horrendous - choice is limited, repetitive and the snack bar choices , dry burgers , or toasties and hot dogs! We had one good night (Friday outdoor BBQ)||The big negative - the 30 kids that showed up for the weekend, 2 young Spanish football teams aged 11-16 and what an absolute nightmare they were ransacking the restaurant , running up down the corridors banging on doors, I had to ring reception 5 times and email them , nothing was done ! I ended up in a disagreement with the team staff.||Female receptionist - she is vile ! Absolutely defended the Spanish children, told me that the men I was speaking to wasn’t their coach - she lied! She defended the children even though they were causing chaos! Half of the hotel have been annoyed by them.||We had a couple of groups in over the weekend - no issues with them , they were respectful!||My favorite part was the little cat family who live here, 4 kittens a mum and a dad , they live in the little wooded bit as you come down to the pool ! ||Bar staff / restaurant staff - there are 3 male bar staff who are lovely 😊 ||Animation team - Boring !

We have stayed at many hotels in Benidorm but came here for our 45th wedding anniversary, the all-inclusive is amazing, the food was plentiful and good options. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Close to indoor and outdoor markets and plenty of shops for the take home gifts. Every visit to Benidorm doesn't disappoint. Love coming here and will definitely use Placidia again. Thankyou to all the staff for making our anniversary and stay at this hotel memorable

Lovely hotel and experience so far! My first time in Benidorm and it's great for a girls trip. Melanie in particular was especially great with the bingo! A whole lot of fun and such a lovely person. The guys at the bar although I didn't catch their names were fabulous too very jokey and fun!

Returned last night from a 5 night stay at Gala Placidia. We were all inclusive. Plenty of choice of nice food. (microwave on hand as it is not red hot) I can't comment on the snack bar as we never used it. Drinks were great. Ultra all inclusive so we had premium brands. The rooms are VERY clean. Beds made daily along with fresh towels. Great location, 5 min from the shops/strip/beach and a lovely prom walk to the old town. We have been to Benidorm many times but found lots of new bars in the Rincon area, new town & old town. It was a very special trip as at the age of 83, it was the first time my dad had been out of England. I can safely say it won't be his last! Thank you to all the lovely staff for making our holiday so enjoyable. My only negative is if you've got loud neighbours, you can hear their conversations, snoring etc 🤭 I paid €40 on the last day to keep my room until 6pm. I would definitely return to Gala Placidia
